MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Butterscotch Nut Torte

     Yield: 1 Torte

     6    Egg yolks
   1/2 ts Salt
     2 ts Vanilla
     1 c  Nuts; chopped
     2 c  Graham cracker crumbs
     2 c  Whipping cream
     2 ts Almond extract
 1 1/2 c  Sugar
     1 ts Baking powder
     6    Egg whites
     3 tb Powdered sugar

     2 c  Heavy cream
     3 tb Powdered sugar

MMMMM---------------------BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE--------------------------
     1 c  Brown sugar
   1/4 c  Orange juice
     1    Egg; beaten
   1/4 c  Water
     1 tb Flour
   1/4 c  Butter
     1 ts Vanilla

 Beat yolks well. Combine sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add to
 yolks; add flavoring. Beat egg whites stiff; fold into above mixture.
 Fold in the crumbs and nuts. Line or grease a 9x13" pan or two 9"
 layer pans. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost when completely
 cooled.

 Frosting:

 Whip heavy cream, slowly adding powdered sugar. Spread frosting on
 sides, top, and between layers (9").

 Butterscotch Sauce:

 Blend sauce ingredients; cook on low heat until thick. Stir
 constantly. Cool thoroughly. Pour over whipped cream so the sauce
 drizzles down the sides.
