Title: Sorghum Cake With Cinnamon Sauce

Yield: 6 Servings
1/2 c White sugar
1/2 c Butter
1 lg Egg
1 c Sorghum or molasses
2 1/2 c A-P flour
1 1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1 ts Ground ginger
1/2 ts Ground cloves
1 c Water; hot

3/4 c Butter
1 c Confectioners' sugar
1 ts Vanilla
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1/2 c Water
Cream together the sugar and butter or margarine. Add egg, and beat
well. Mix in molasses. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour into 9" sprayed pan.
Bake in a 350°F/175°C oven for 55 to 60 minutes.
Cool and serve.
Cinnamon Sauce:
Melt butter in saucepan on stove. Add remaining ingredients, bring
to a boil. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Cool and pour
over individual servings of cake.
