MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Cherry Pudding Cake

     Yield: 12 Servings

     2 c  A-P flour
 2 1/2 c  Sugar; divided
     4 ts Baking powder
     1 c  Milk
     2 tb Canola oil
    29 oz Water-packed pitted tart red
          - cherries (2 cans);
          - well drained
   1/8 ts Almond extract
          Whipped cream or ice cream
          - (optional)

 In a bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, milk, and
 oil; pour into a greased shallow 3 qt baking dish. In a bowl,
 combine cherries, extract, and remaining sugar; spoon over batter.

 Bake @ 375°F/190°C for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick
 inserted in the cake portion comes out clean. Serve warm, with
 whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
