MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Dutch Apple Cake

     Yield: 1 Cake

     1 c  Flour
   1/4 c  Sugar
     2 ts Baking powder
     1 pn Salt
   1/2 lb Butter; room temperature,
          -creamed
     1 ts Vanilla
     1    Egg
   1/4 c  Milk
     6    Apples; peeled, cored
   1/2 c  Brown sugar
     2 oz Butter; cold, small pieces
          Cinnamon

 Mix first 4 ingredients and set aside.

 Beat next 4 ingredients together and combine wet to dry ingredients.
 This makes a stiff dough. Spread in greased 9"x9" pan.

 Pare 5 or 6 apples. Quarter them and then quarter them again. Push
 the thin edges into the dough very tightly together. Sprinkle with
 brown sugar, small pieces of butter, and finally cinnamon.

 Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour at 375°F.
