MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Plum Poppy Seed Cake

     Yield: 15 servings

     1 c  Sugar
     4 lg Eggs
     1 c  Oil
     1 tb Orange zest; grated
     1 ts Vanilla extract
     2 c  A-P flour
     2 ts Baking powder
     1 ts Ground cinnamon
   1/2 ts Salt
     3 tb Poppy seeds
     5 sm Plums (1 lb); sliced
          Confectioners' sugar

 Set oven @ 350°F/175°C

 In a large bowl, beat sugar, eggs, and oil until lemon-colored and
 fluffy, about 5 minutes. Beat in orange zest and vanilla.

 In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt;
 fold into egg mixture. Stir in poppy seeds. Transfer to a greased
 13x9" baking pan, spreading evenly. Arrange plum slices over batter
 (do not press into batter).

 Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 40 to
 45 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Sprinkle with
 confectioners' sugar and additional cinnamon before serving.
