 2 1/4 c  Unbleached flour
     2    Eggs
     2 ts Baking powder
   1/2 c  Canned yams; chopped
     2 ts Baking soda
2 c  Chopped tart green apples
   1/4 ts Allspice
   1/2 c  Walnuts; chopped
   1/4 ts Nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking
soda, allspice, and nutmeg. Set aside.

In separate bowl, combine maple syrup, butter, and eggs, and beat
with electric mixer for 3 minutes. By hand, stir in yams, apples,
 walnuts, raisins, cream, and marmalade.

Add flour mixture a little at a time, stirring well after each
addition; batter will be stiff. Pour into lightly oiled 9x5" loaf
pans. Bake at 350°F for 60 to 70 minutes. Let cake cool 10 minutes,
then turn onto cooling rack. Let cool completely before slicing.
