Categories: Cookies, Snacks, Chocolate, Nuts
     Yield: 24 Servings

     2 c  Sugar
     1 c  Oil
   3/4 c  Baking cocoa
     4 lg Eggs; room temperature
   1/4 c  Milk
 1 1/2 c  A-P flour
     1 ts Salt
     1 ts Baking powder
     1 c  Semisweet chocolate chips
     1 c  Walnuts; chopped, divided
    11 oz Bag caramels
   1/3 c  Sweetened, condensed milk

 Set oven @ 350°F/175°C.

In a large bowl, beat sugar, oil, cocoa, eggs, and milk. In another
bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder; gradually add to egg
mixture until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup
 walnuts.

Spoon 2/3rds of the batter into a greased 13x9" baking pan. Bake
 for 12 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat caramels and condensed milk
over low heat until caramels are melted, stirring frequently. Pour
over baked brownie layer. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup walnuts.

Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over caramel layer. Carefully
swirl brownie batter with a knife.

Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist
crumbs (do not overbake), 35 to 40 minutes longer. Cool completely
 on a wire rack.
