                         Northwest Lentil Chili

 32      oz            Canned tomato juice (4 cups)
  2      c             Potato, raw, diced
 15      oz            Chickpeas, cooked
  1      c             Lentils, washed
  1      c             Carrots, diced
    1/2  c             Onion, diced
  2      tb            Chili powder
  2      ts            Beef bouillon granules
  1      ts            Basil, crushed
  2      cl            Garlic, minced

Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven and bring to a boil.  Reduce
heat and simmer, covered, about 30 minutes or until lentils are
tender.
