MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Basic Tomato Garlic Sauce

     Yield: 1 Quart

     2 tb Olive oil
     6 cl Garlic; minced
     1 c  Onion (2); chopped
   1/2 c  Green pepper (1 sm); diced
     1 ts Oregano
     1 ts Basil
   1/2 ts Marjoram
     2 c  Mushrooms; sliced
    15 oz Can tomato sauce
    12 oz Can tomato paste
    15 oz Can whole tomatoes;
          - coarsely chopped,
          - plus liquid -OR-
     2 c  Fresh tomatoes;
          - coarsely chopped
   1/4 c  Red wine

 Put the olive oil in a 10" frying pan over medium heat and add garlic,
 onions, green pepper, oregano, basil, and marjoram. As onions begin to
 brown, add mushrooms and cook until tender. In 2 qt saucepan, put
 tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomatoes, and liquid. Add sauteed onion
 mixture and red wine to tomatoes. Stir. Simmer, covered, 2 hours over
 low heat, stirring occasionally.
