MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Apple Chutney
Categories: Chutneys, Indian
     Yield: 1 Quart

 1 1/2 lb Cooking apples; (you can
          -also use combinations of
          -peaches and pears)
     1 md Clove garlic; minced
     1 tb Ginger root; chopped
   1/2 c  Orange juice
     1 ts Cinnamon
     1 ts Cloves
     1 ts Salt
     1 c  Honey; or more to taste
     1 c  Cider vinegar
          Cayenne to taste

 Preparation time should include an hour to simmer and several hours
 (or even days) to ripen. Chutney will keep, if packaged in a sterile,
 sealed jar.

 Coarsely chop the apples. You needn't peel them.

 Combine everything in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower
 to a simmer.

 Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool
 before storing in a jar.
