MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Almond Comfy

     Yield: 1 Batch

     6 oz Almonds
     2 oz Smashed bitters
          Gentian root or cinchona
          -bark
     1 qt Water
     1 lb Superfine sugar
     1 tb Orange-flower water

 Put 6 oz of pulverized sweet almonds and 2 oz of smashed bitters
 ditto into a saucepan with one quart of water, and let it simmer for
 a quarter of an hour; then add one pound of sifted sugar. When
 dissolved strain through a hair sieve or jelly-bag, and add 1 tb of
 orange-flower water. When cold, a wine-glassful of the mixture should
 be put into a tumbler, which should be filled up with soda-or
 Seltzer-water.
