MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Creamy Blue Cheese Dip w/Walnuts
Categories: Nuts. snack, Cheese, Dairy, Vegetables
     Yield: 7 servings

     1 c  Raw walnut pieces
     8 oz Blue cheese; crumbled
   1/2 c  Buttermilk
   1/4 c  Mayonnaise
   1/4 c  Thin sliced chives; more for
          - garnish
     1 sm Shallot; fine chopped
     2 tb Lemon juice
     1 ts Sweet paprika
          Salt & black pepper
          Celery sticks; to serve
          Red cabbage; in wedges; to
          - serve
          Saltine crackers; to serve

 Set oven @ 350 F/175 C.

 Spread walnuts on a baking sheet and toast in oven until
 golden brown, about 10 minutes. Let cool, then coarsely
 chop.

 In a medium bowl, combine blue cheese, buttermilk,
 mayonnaise, chives, shallot, lemon juice and paprika.
 Stir to blend, then season with salt and pepper.

 Just before serving, stir in chopped walnuts and top
 with more chives. Enjoy with celery, cabbage and saltine
 crackers.
