                            TURNIP GREEN DIP

  1      cup           onion -- chopped
  2      tablespoons   butter -- melted
    1/4  cup           dry white wine
 20      ounces        turnip greens, frozen -- thawed and drained
  1      pound         cream cheese -- softened
  8      ounces        sour cream
    3/4  cup           milk
  1      teaspoon      tabasco sauce
    1/4  teaspoon      salt

Saute onion in butter until tender.  Stir in wine and simmer about 2 minutes.  Stir in turnip greens and remaining ingredients and cook over medium head until thoroughly heated.  Be sure to stir occasionally.  Transfer to a chafing dish and keep warm.  Serve with toasted baguette slices or some
other toasted "hearty" bread that will stand up to dipping.
