                        Keftadas With Yogurt Dip

  1      Lb            Lean Ground Beef
    1/2  Lb            Feta Cheese -- Finely Crumbled
  1      Whole         Egg -- Lightly Beaten
  1      Whole         Egg White -- Lightly Beaten
  3      Whole         Green Onions -- Finely Chopped
  1      Whole         Garlic Clove -- Minced
    1/4  C             Fresh Parsley -- Chopped
  1      Tbsp          Fresh Oregano Or 1 Ts. Dried -- Finely Chopped
  2      Tbsp          Lemon Juice -- Fresh
                       Freshly Ground Pepper -- To Taste
                       Flour To Coat Meatballs
                       Vegetable Oil -- For Frying
                       Yogurt Dip For Kaftadas
  1      C             Yogurt -- Low Fat
  1      Tbsp          Fresh Mint Or Basil -- Chopped
    1/2  Tsp           Ground Cumin
                       Freshly Ground Pepper -- To Taste

Kaftadas:
Place all ingredients except flour and oil in a large bowl.
Mix together with a fork.
Form into 1" balls, squeezing out excess moisture if necessary.
Roll meatballs in flour to coat.
Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Brown meatballs on all sides until they are cooked through.
Remove from pan and drain on paper towel.  (To prepare ahead of time, slightly
undercook the meatballs and refrigerate.  Reheat at serving time in a 350
degree oven.)
Meat balls may also be frozen
Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer.
Makes 48 meatballs.

Yogurt Dip:
Stir all ingredients together and use as a dip for the meatballs.
Store in refrigerator.
