MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Fried Chicken & Waffles

     Yield: 8 Servings

 1 3/4 c  A-P flour
     1 tb Dried thyme
     1 tb Paprika
     2 ts Salt
     2 ts Garlic powder
     1 ts Pepper
     1 lg Egg
   1/3 c  Milk
     2 tb Lemon juice
     4 lb Broiler/fryer chicken;
          - cut up
          Oil; for deep-fat frying

     2 c  A-P flour
     1 tb Sugar
     2 ts Baking powder
   1/2 ts Salt
     3 lg Eggs; separated
     2 c  Milk
   1/4 c  Oil
          Syrup or jam/jelly

 In a shallow bowl, mix the first 6 ingredients. In a separate
 shallow bowl, whisk egg, milk and lemon juice until blended. Dip
 chicken in flour mixture to coat all sides; shake off excess. Dip
 in egg mixture, then again in flour mixture.

 In an electric skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to 375 F/190 C. Fry
 chicken, a few pieces at a time, until skin is golden brown and
 juices run clear, 6 to 10 minutes on each side. Drain on paper
 towels, keep warm.

 For the waffles, in a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking
 powder, and salt. Combine the egg yolks, milk, and oil; stir into
 dry ingredients just until moistened. In a small bowl, beat egg
 whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter. Bake in a
 preheated waffle maker according to manufacturer's directions.
 Place chicken on waffles; drizzle with maple syrup.
