MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Savory Rubbed Roast Chicken

     Yield: 12 servings

     2 ts Paprika
     1 ts Salt
     1 ts Onion powder
     1 ts White pepper
     1 ts Cayenne pepper
     1 ts Dried thyme
   3/4 ts Garlic powder
   1/2 ts Pepper
     7 lb Roasting chicken
     1 lg Onion; in wedges

 Set oven @ 350 F/175 C.

 In a small bowl, mix the first eight ingredients.

 Pat chicken dry and place on a rack in a roasting pan,
 breast side up. Rub seasoning mixture over the outside
 and inside of chicken. Place onion inside cavity. Tuck
 wings under chicken; tie drumsticks together.

 Roast 2 to 2-1/2 hours. (Cover loosely with foil if
 chicken browns too quickly.) Remove chicken from oven;
 tent with foil. Let stand 15 minutes before carving.
