1/3 c Soft bread crumbs (1/2 slice)
2 tb Milk
1/8 ts Salt
1 ds Garlic salt
1 ds Dried basil -- crushed
1/4 lb Ground beef
1 sm Potato -- peeled and sliced
1 md Carrot -- sliced
1 tb Butter
1 tb Flour
1/8 ts Salt
1 ds Pepper
1/2 c Milk
Paprika
Combine first 5 ingredients. Add meat. Mix well. Shape into
4 meatballs; set aside. Combine potato and carrot in a 2-1/2 cup
casserole; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
In saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour, 1/8 ts salt, and a dash of
pepper. Add 1/2 cup milk, cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
Pour over vegetables; top with meatballs. Bake, covered, at 350 F for
30 minutes. Uncover, bake 10 minutes longer. Sprinkle with paprika.
