Title: Zesty Orange Beef

Yield: 5 servings
1 1/2 lb Top sirloin steak; in 1/4"
- strips
2 1/2 c Fresh shiitake mushrooms;
- sliced
1 md Onion; in wedges
3 Dried hot chilies
1/4 c Brown sugar; packed
1/4 c Orange juice
1/4 c Soy sauce
3 tb Cider vinegar
1 tb Corn starch
1 tb Fresh ginger; minced
1 tb Sesame oil
2 cl Garlic; minced
1 3/4 c Fresh snow peas
1 tb Orange zest; grated
Hot cooked rice
Place beef in a 4 qt slow cooker. Add the mushrooms,
onion and chiles. In a small bowl, combine the brown
sugar, orange juice, soy sauce, vinegar, corn starch,
ginger, oil, and garlic. Pour over meat.
Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until meat is
tender, adding snow peas during the last 30 minutes of
cooking. Stir in orange zest. Serve with rice.
