1 md Sweet potatoes
1 c Corn syrup
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 ts Salt
4 tb Butter
Partially cook the sweet potatoes in boiling water, cook, and skin.
Cut the sweet potatoes in halves lengthwise, or in three pieces if
the sweet potatoes are large. Put in a greased baking dish large
enough for just one layer, not packed too closely. Make a syrup by
boiling the corn syrup, sugar, salt, and fat until fairly thick. Pour
the syrup over the sweet potatoes and bake in a very moderate oven
for 1 hour or more. Turn the sweet potatoes carefully as they are
cooking.
