                             Sherry Onions

    1/4  c             Butter
  5      md            Onions -- sliced thin
    1/2  ts            Sugar
    1/2  ts            Salt
    1/2  ts            Black pepper -- freshly ground
    1/2  c             Sherry
    1/4  c             Parmesan cheese -- grated
  1      ds            Ground nutmeg

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, sugar, salt,
and pepper. Cook until onions are soft, about 5 to 8 minutes. Add
sherry. Increase heat and cook quickly about 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle
with cheese and nutmeg. Serve at once with grilled steak.
