3 lb Green cabbage
4 tb Unsalted butter
1/2 c Water
1 ts Sugar
1 tb Salt
1/2 ts Freshly ground black pepper
Cut the cabbage into quarters. Remove any wilted and discolored outer
leaves and cut out the core from the cabbage pieces. Cut the cabbage
into a large 1" dice.
Heat the butter and water to simmering in a 4 qt pot. Stir in the
cabbage, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cover the pot and cook the cabbage,
stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes.
