                            ITALIAN BROCCOLI

  1       lg           Bunch broccoli
  1       sm           Onion, chopped
  8       lg           Cloves fresh garlic, chopped
    1/2   c            Olive oil
  1       c            Italian bread crumbs
    3/4   c            Grated Parmesan cheese
  1                    Egg, beaten lightly
                       Salt and pepper to taste

 Steam or boil broccoli until tender.  Drain and mash
 as you would potatoes, leaving small bits of broccoli.
 In large skillet, saute onion and garlic in oil.  When
 onion begins to brown, add broccoli and stir to mix.
 Add bread crumbs and cheese and stir until well
 blended. Remove from heat and add egg.  Stir again to
 blend; add seasonings and stir again. Place in
 casserole and, when ready to serve warm in 350-degree
 oven for about 15 minutes.
