                             Pretzel Salad

  2 2/3  cups          pretzels -- coarsely chopped
  1 1/2  cubes         butter -- melted
 12      ounces        cream cheese
  1 1/4  cups          sugar
  1      package       frozen strawberries  (16oz.)
    3/4  12oz. carton  Cool Whip(R)
  1      6oz. pkg      strawberry jello
  2      cups          pineapple juice

Cream cheese and sugar.  Set aside.

Mix pretzels and butter.  Press into 9X13 dish.  Bake at 400 degrees for 10
minutes.  Spread cheese mixture over pretzels.  Spread Cool Whip over cheese
mixture.  Chill.

Dissolve jello in hot pineapple juice.  Add strawberries.  Allow to set.  Pour
over Cool Whip layer.  Refrigerate.  Most unusual and delicious.
