2 c Rice
5 tb Vegetable oil
1 Onion; chopped
1 ts Tomato paste
1 ts Paprika
1 Bay leaf
1 ts Salt
Pinch of thyme
Heat the oil in a heavy saucepan. Add the rice and
onion and saute, stirring, until golden. Add the
tomato paste, thyme and paprika and mix well.
Pour in 2 cups of water and season. Add the bay leaf
and let boil for about 20 minutes, until rice is done.
