     Title: Rice With Green Peas
Categories: Japanese, Rice
     Yield: 1 Batch

 1 1/2 c  Uncooked rice
     1 tb Granulated chicken stock
          -powder -OR-
     1    Chicken bullion cube
 1 3/4 c  Water
     1 tb Sake
     1 ts Light soy sauce
 1 1/2 c  Fresh or frozen peas; cooked
          Salt

 Wash the rice and leave to stand in a strainer for 30 minutes before
 cooking.

 Mix the granulated chicken stock powder with a little hot water then
 add more water to make 1-3/4 cups. Transfer the rice to a rice cooker
 or saucepan, add the chicken stock, sake, and light soy sauce, and
 cook as usual.

 Once cooked, lightly mix in the peas, taking care not to break up the
 rice or the peas. Season with a little salt and serve.
