MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Onion Tamarind Curry (Jaffna Style)

     Yield: 1 Batch

     1 lb Onions
     1 ts Tamarind paste
    10 cl Garlic
   1/8 ts Fenugreek seed
          Fresh ginger (1-1/2")
     3 tb Ghee
     3    Green chiles; up to 4

 Peel the ginger and cut onion, garlic, ginger, and chiles into small
 pieces. Fry in ghee until onion is clear. Add the fenugreek seed and
 continue frying for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix the tamarind paste with 1 cup
 of water, add to onions and simmer for 15 minutes until liquid is
 reduced.
