     Title: Bhuni Bandh Gobi (Stir-Fried Green Cabbage With Fennel Seeds)

 1 1/2 lb Green cabbage; (half a large
          -head)
   1/4 c  Oil
   3/4 ts Cumin seeds
   1/2 ts Fennel seeds
     1 ts Sesame seeds
     1 lg Onion; peeled and cut
          -lengthwise into fine slices
     1 ts Salt
   1/8 ts Indian red chili powder; up
          -to 1/4 ts
     1 tb Fresh lemon juice
   1/2 ts Garam masala

 The cabbage and onions brown nicely and taste of fennel. Serve with
 any meal.

 Prep time: 15 minutes
 Cook time: 20 minutes

 Remove the coarse outer leaves of the cabbage. If you have a cabbage
 half, cut it in half again lengthwise, and then core the sections.
 Now cut each section lengthwise into very fine, long shreds.

 Heat the oil in a wide pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add the
 cumin, fennel, and sesame seeds.

 When sesame seeds begin to pop, put in the onion. Stir and fry for 3
 to 4 minutes, or until the oinion has browned a bit.

 Put in the cabbage. Stir and fry for about 6 minutes or until the
 cabbage has browned somewhat.

 Now put in the salt and red chili powder.

 Turn down the heat and cook, stirring now and then, for another 7 to 8
 minutes or until the onions appear carmelized and soft.

 Add the lemon juice and garam masala. Stir and serve.
