1 1/3 Bananas
2 oz Butter (56 g)
1 oz Brown sugar (28 g)
Grand Marnier
Vanilla ice cream
Peel bananas and split them along the seams lengthwise into 3rds.
Allow about 4/3rds per person. (You can halve the bananas, of course,
but I think that this way is cool.)
Melt the butter in a pan; add the bananas and brown them quickly on
all sides. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top. Add a generous glugg of
Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur and flame it. Don't burn your
eyebrows. Shake the pan about a bit, trying not to break the bananas.
Arrange the banana lengths in a # shape and scoop some ice cream into
the middle. Top with the sauce from the pan.
