MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Gingerbread

     Yield: 12 Servings

   1/2 c  Crisco; room temperature
     1 c  White sugar
     1    Egg; unbeaten
   1/2 c  Dark molasses
     1 c  Sourdough
   1/2 c  Warm water
     1 c  Raisins (optional)
 1 3/4 c  Flour
   1/2 ts Baking soda
     1 ts Baking powder
     2 ts Ground ginger
     1 ts Ground cinnamon
   1/2 ts Salt

 Cream Crisco and sugar, add unbeaten egg and beat well. Add molasses
 and beat again. Add sourdough and water. Over this sift flour, soda,
 baking powder, salt and spices. (If raisins are desired, wash and dry
 them and add.) Stir in, then beat until smooth. Pour into a greased
 and floured 9 by 12" pan, or in greased muffin pans. Bake loaf in a
 350 degree F oven about 50 minutes, until center springs up when you
 touch it. Bake small ones about 20 minutes. Good with ice cream or
 applesauce. Freezes well.
