MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

     Title: Strawberry Buckle

     Yield: 8 Servings

   1/4 c  Butter, softened
   3/4 c  Sugar
     1 lg Egg, beaten
   1/2 ts Vanilla
   1/2 c  Milk
     2 c  AP flour
     2 ts Baking powder
   1/2 ts Salt
     3 c  Fresh strawberries, sliced

   1/4 c  Butter, softened
   1/2 c  Brown sugar
   1/3 c  AP flour
   1/2 ts Cinnamon
     1 ds Nutmeg

 Preheat oven to 375 (convection will show 350)

 Cream sugar and butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.

 Blend in eggs, vanilla and milk

 In another bowl mix together the dry ingredients.

 Stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.

 Fold in strawberries.

 Spread in a greased and floured 8 x 8 inch baking pan.

 Cream the butter and sugar together, stir in flour and
 cinnamon/nutmeg.

 Sprinkle this mixture over the batter.

 Bake in 375 oven (convection oven reads 350) 35 to 40 minutes or until
 toothpick poked in center of buckle comes out clean.

 Put on rack to cool.

 Can be served warm with cream or ice cream or at room temp.  Good
 either way.

 Nice cake - good use of fresh strawberries.  Will make again.
