     Title: Chocolate Intrigue

     Yield: 2 servings

     3 c  All-purpose flour
     2 ts Baking powder
   1/2 ts Salt
     1 c  Butter or margarine
     2 c  Sugar
     3    Eggs; unbeaten
     1 c  Milk
     1 ts Vanilla
   3/4 c  Chocolate syrup
   1/2 ts Baking soda

 Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.  Set aside.
 Cream margarine and sugar.  Blend in eggs, milk and
 vanilla. Add flour mixture and blend thoroughly. Pour 2/3
 of batter into greased tube pan. Add syrup and baking soda
 to remaining matter and pour over white batter in pan.  DO
 NOT MIX.
 Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Place a sheet of
 aluminum foil loosely on top of pan. Continue baking for 25
 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pan.
 This cake is fast and easy to make.  Tastes good, and is
 pretty when you cut it. Recipe came from "The Rochester
 Hadassah Cookbook."
