     Title: SUZY'S CARAMEL
Categories: Candies
     Yield: 1 Servings

          - Susan Aaronson   PSTT79C
   1/2 c  Brown sugar; packed
   1/2 c  White sugar
     4 tb Sweet butter
   1/2 c  Light Karo syrup
 1 1/2 c  Light cream

Mix all ingredients together in a heavy saucepan and cook for about 1/2
to 3/4 of an hour (longer if you double or triple the recipe). You have to
mix this almost constantly so that it doesn't burn.
If the butter separates from the rest of the mixture, just beat it back
in - nothing is wrong. This mixture will be about the consistency of peanut
 butter when it is finished.
If you want a sauce, simply cook for about 15 minutes. It won't be
thick, but it will be delicious.

Use this to make Turtles with pecans or walnuts, or as a coating for
apples--just about anything you want to use caramel for. You can double or
triple the recipe as you require. I've made this recipe for years and it
comes out perfect every time. Should you have any problems, please let me
 know and I'll help you!
