     Title: Soft Sugar Cookies

     Yield: 72 Servings

     1 c  Butter or margarine; * see n
 2 1/4 c  Sugar
     2 lg Eggs
     5 c  All-purpose flour
     1 ts Baking soda
   1/2 ts Baking powder
 1 1/2 ts Ground cardamom
   1/2 c  Milk

 Recipe by: Jo Merrill * you can also use light
 margarine. Soften the margarine or butter.

  In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and 2 cups of
 sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after
 each.
  Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and 1
 teaspoon of the cardamon. Add to the creamed mixture
 alternately with milk.
  In a small bowl, combine the remaining sugar and
 cardamon. Dip rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into the
 sugar mixture. Place on greased baking sheets and bake
 at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly
 browned. Do not overbake. Cool on wire racks.
