3 c Oats
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg

The following recipe is a favorite of Governor and Mrs.
Chiles. They are delighted to share this recipe and hope
you enjoy preparing it.
Heat oven to 375. Beat margarine and sugars until fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda,
salt and spices; mix well. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded
tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes
for a chewy cookie, 10 to 11 minutes for a crisp cookie.JM.
