     Title: Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

     Yield: 1 servings

     1 c  Butter or margarine;
          -softened
     1 c  Brown sugar; firmly packed
   1/2 c  Granulated sugar
     2    Eggs
     1 ts Vanilla
 1 1/2 c  All-purpose flour
     1 ts Baking soda
     1 ts Ground cinnamon
   1/2 ts Salt (optional)
     3 c  Quaker oats; uncooked
     1 c  Raisins

      Preheat oven to 350.  Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs
 and vanilla; beat well.  Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; add
 to margarine mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well. Drop
 by rounded tablespoonsful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12
 minutes, or until light golden brown.  Cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet;
 remove to wire rack.  Cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
 Makes about 4 dozen 2-1/2" cookies.

    VARIATIONS: Stir in 1 cup chopped nuts. Substitute 1 cup semisweet
 chocolate morsels or candy-coated chocolate pieces (M&Ms) for raisins; omit
 cinnamon. Substitute 1 cup diced, dried, mixed fruit for raisins.
