     Title: Apricot Bars
Categories: Cookies
     Yield: 32 Bars

     6 oz Dried apricots; finely
          -chopped
   1/2 c  Dates; pitted, chopped
   3/4 c  Water
 1 1/2 c  Quick cooking oats
     1 c  Flour
   3/4 c  Gingersnaps; crushed
   1/2 c  Sugar
   1/4 c  Brown sugar; packed
   1/2 ts Baking soda
   1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
   3/4 c  Butter
     1 c  Powdered sugar; sifted
     4 ts Milk; up to 5 ts

 In a small saucepan combine apricots, dates & water. Cook over
 medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbly. Reduce heat &
 continue to cook and stir occasionally until thickened, about
 5 minutes. Cool.

 In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, gingersnaps, sugar, brown
 sugar, baking soda & nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture is
 crumbly. Press about 3 cups mixture evenly into bottom of 13x9x2"
 baking pan. Spread apricot mixture over crumbs. Sprinkle with
 remaining crumb mixture. Bake in 375 F oven 25 to 30 minutes or
 until crumbs are golden. Cool.

 In a small bowl combine powdered sugar & 4 ts milk. Add more milk
 until drizzing consistency. Drizzle over cookies in pan. Cut into
 bars.
