1/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Melt butter then add brown sugar, unbeaten egg, nuts and vanilla.
Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture.
Bake in a shallow buttered pan in a moderate oven, 350 degrees.
for 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
