2 tb Butter
2 c Flour
2 c Canned peaches or apricots
- (16 oz)
1/2 c Syrup; from fruit
2/3 c Sugar
2 tb Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
2 Eggs
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 c Nuts; chopped
1/4 ts Ground cloves
1 c Raisins (optional)
Grease and flour 9x5" or 8x4" loaf pan. Lightly spoon flour into
measuring cup, level off. In mixer blend all ingredients except
nuts and raisins, at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at
medium speed, scraping the bowl occasionally. Stir in nuts and
raisins. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 60-70 minutes until
toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan
immediately.
