1/2 c White sugar
1 ts Cinnamon
2 cn Pillsbury Grands Biscuits *
1/2 c Chopped walnuts (optional)
1/2 c Raisins (optional)
1 c Dark brown sugar
3/4 c Butter (melted)
* Two 16.3 oz cans Grands Homestyle Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits
was called for in recipe - I used regular Grands Biscuits
Heat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease 12 cup fluted tube pan with
shortening In large storage plastic food bag, mix white sugar and
cinnamon.
Separate dough into 16 slices, cut each piece into quarters. Shake
pieces in bag to coat. Arrange in pan adding walnuts and/or raisins
among the biscuit pieces - if using.
In small mix brown sugar and melted butter. Pour over top of all
biscuit pieces, adding any left over cinnamon mixture left over from
bag on very top of biscuits.
Bake 28 to 32 minutes OR until golden brown and no longer doughy in
center. (Test with toothpick or insert thermomenter into center - 180
is done.) Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Turn upside down onto large serving plate, pull apart to serve OR
slice into serving size pieces. (Both ways work nicely).
Tested 3/14. Very nice, sweet almost like cinnamon bun. Good picking
off pieces or slicing the next day.
Will do again.
Need to experiment with half a recipe and a bread pan for a smaller
version.
