  2      cups          flour
  4      teaspoons     baking powder
    1/2  teaspoon      salt
1      tablespoon    plus 1/4 cup sugar

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and 1 tablespoon of the

make a dough. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board and cut
into 2 inch squares. Heat the grape juice, grapes and remaining sugar
in a heavy kettle until boiling. Drop in the dumplings. Cover closely
and steam 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Serve hot.

NOTES : My sister, Melba, lives along a creek in Oklahoma and has
wild grapes. We use to go over and pick them and can or freeze the
juice, so on. But....I have gotten lazy and haven't done that in 3 or
so years. So I make this with concord, not the same flavor but still
very tasty.
