1 c Milk
4 tb Butter
1 Egg
1/4 c Sugar
1 ts Salt
1 ts Cardamom
3 c Bread flour
2 1/2 ts Yeast
2/3 c Raisins
2/3 c Sliced citron
2 tb Chopped almonds; optional

Proceed according to the directions for your machine.
It is better if the fruit is added toward the end of
the first mixing cycle, or when the machine beeps if
you have that feature.
Last year I partially prepared loaves ahead by
measuring out the dry ingredients into 6 Ziploc bags
at one time. Then it seemed as though the
time-consuming part had been done, and I only needed
to add milk, butter, and "Egg Beaters" to the machine
when the need arose.
