     1 tb Malt syrup or white sugar
   3/4 ts Salt
   1/3 c  Cornmeal
   1/4 c  Whole wheat flour
 2 1/4 c  Bread flour
     1 ts Vital gluten, optional
 1 1/2 ts Active dry yeast
   1/4 c  Dried cherries, at beep*
   1/4 c  Dried blueberries, at beep*
   1/4 c  White chocolate chips, at
          Beep*

     1 tb Vegetable oil
     2 tb Malt syrup or white sugar
     1 ts Salt
   1/3 c  Cornmeal
   3/4 c  Whole wheat flour
 2 1/4 c  Bread flour

 2 1/2 ts Active dry yeast
   1/4 c  Dried cherries, at beep*
   1/4 c  Dried blueberries, at beep*

 *Or five minutes before the end of the kneading phase, or work into
 dough.

 A bagel loaded with dried red cherries, dried blueberries and white
 chocolate chips is the perfect red, white and blue color combination
 for Independence Day. Use this recipe for Flag Day, too. For variety,
 add 6 drops blue food coloring to the liquid and omit blueberries.
