1.0 Introduction
I suppose this is where I'm supposed to write why I wrote this FAQ and what not
and I suppose all I can really say is that it's because nobody else has. What
noble and inspiring intentions eh? In truth Stubbs the Zombie is on of the best
games I've played in a long while and it saddens me to see what a poor
reception it's recieved sales wise, but there isn't much I can do about that.
What I can do is write a FAQ so that people who do play can enjoy it to a
greater extent. Here goes...
Also as a side note, although I enjoy this game and know it well enough to
write a FAQ for it I am not the greatest player of it. Frankly I'm not even all
that good, I have to rely on strategy to get me through most spots of the game.
This is good news for you if you aren't the best either as my strategys work
even for the worst of us (namely me).

2.0 Tips of the Trade
This is a relatively simple game, and it uses relatively simple strategies.
Most of these things you'll probably pick up yourself by the end of the game
but I'll jot them down here in the hopes you'll pick them up sooner. Tips that
are specifically about one of the special powers in this game are not put here
to reduce spoiler-age, if you're looking for one of those just jump to the
correct level.
---* You're a zombie, zombies are slow, humans are the enemy, humans are not
slow. Bottom line, don't try to run a human down in a foot race, you WILL
catch them eventually but if it's a soldier they will have already taken
out a chunk of life. It's not worth it. Instead let your zombie minions do
the running while you circle around and try to box the humans in.
---* Your zombie horde is far from the sharpest knives in the drawer. However
they are still decent at hunting down living flesh. Most of the time they
will follow you simply because they smell brains in the next room, but not
always. So don't forget to whistle, don't leave behind 6-10 zombies simply
because they don't follow normally. You need those guys, the hardest thing
about this game (excluding some boss fights) is trying to make a new
zombie horde when you accidentally left yours somewhere.
---* As a general rule with special powers don't be too stingy. Rarely is there
a spot where I've wished I had more powers at my disposal when I've used
them all. So don't hoard them as they're just as useful now as later.
---* Jumping is useless in the game when it comes to navigation, there is only
one time where you need to jump to continue on in the game. So why is it
there? Because jumping onto the easy enemies and hitting "e" while in the
air is the fastest way of killing enemies once you can gauge the jupming
distance. It's essentially a one hit kill but it only works on weak
people. Namely scientists and cops that you meet early in the game.
---* A healthy zombie is a happy salesman. You may like to rip off arms and
use grenades all the time but that means all your zombies will be missing
limbs and legs. This makes them VERY ineffective against your enemies. If
at all possible try to make zombies without losing limbs or heads,
headless zombies can't eat brains.
---* More to come as I find new ones, remember old ones, and people e-mail me.

3.0 Walkthrough
I'm writing this guide for normal mode, the difficulty of the enemies and all
other things are in terms of normal mode.
3.1 Welcome to Punchbowl
The game starts with a movie and then a relatively short tutorial. The tutorial
is very self explanatory, they even give you specific instructions at the
bottom of your screen, follow the tutorial steps and go through the big gates
at the end to begin the real first level of the game.
As you saw in the walkthrough you have your first power, flatulence, huzzah.
This power is mildly usefull, it would be alot more usefull but it takes a LONG
time to recharge. It recharges much quicker towards the end of the game when
you start encountering the more difficult enemies, but until then don't expect
more than a handful of uses per level, often times even less. But when you can
use it than it does a nice job. As a side note on some enemies you can pull
their arms off when you stagger them with flatulence (or for scientists just
hitting them is enough). Disemboweled limbs make great clubs and do alot more
damage than your normal punch, but they break after a few uses.
When you regain control of your character you're standing right infront of a
with a whole bunch of civilians, or as I call them "fodder", milling around.
Feeling a little famished? Yes? Well then dig in, civilians hardly do any
damage and most don't even attack.
Eat as many as you like, the level is pretty simple so there is no need to
bother building as large a zombie horde as possible. On the other side of the
fountain is a stair case, there are 3 cops at the top of the stairs. They are
no threat what so ever but you might as well practive how to take on enemies
now. Don't run straight at them, only try to take on enemies from the front as
a last resort, let your horde distract them and take them on from the side, or
the back. Later on this will be necassary, now you can just jump at them and
take them down in one shot. (see the tips section for a more detailed
explanation on leaping).
When those three cops are down continue down the red brick path towards the big
brown building. Four more cops will come at you, either wait for your horde to
catch up and take them out easily, or just "relieve the pressure" and kill them
while they're stunned. Either way continue toward the brown building
afterwards.
Short cutscene occurs, 3 cops come out of the brown building, now clearly
identified as the monorail station. For some reason, even after whistling for
my horde I couldn't get them to attack these new cops, maybe you'll have better
luck. If not just use your flatulence if you didn't on the last group, or
simply take them out with your claws.
In truth you don't even have to kill them, just head towards the monorail
station (those green arrows that show up show you your objectives) and the
level ends.
3.2 Breeding Ground
I love that cutscene...
Anyway as soon as you get control of your character jump in the vehicle in
front of you. It's the sod-o-mobile. As the handy little messages on the bottom
of your screen says you can shoot sod with the left mouse button. Movement is
similiar to walking, "w" goes forward, use the mouse to aim and turn. As a side
note if you aim as low as you can, almost straight down and shoot you can do a
double backflip, very amusing.
In your new ride you shouldn't have any trouble with enemies, just run them
down or pump them full of sod. Once the enemies are over and done with just
keep the large cliff type wall on your right and keep driving until you reach
a metal door with another sod-o-mobile out front. Remember to take out the
enemies as you go along, one or two shots of sod will take out the driver of
the other sod-o-mobile.
If you can't find the right place just drive around, in a little while a green
marker will come up and if you follow that it will lead you to the door.
(actually it leads you to a spot behind the door so don't let it confuse you).
Through the door is a short curvy corridor and on the other side of that is a
large room. There is a cop who patrols just inside the entrance and if your
careful you can sneak up on him and eat him without a fight but if you mess up
the enemies are still not hard enough to pose much of a challenge.
There are 6-8 enemies in this area, but they're spread out so that you never
feel like you're ganged up upon. There are also 2 or 3 scientists which act
alot like civilians. Leave the repair robots alone, they won't bother you
unless you bother them, and they pack a punch.
There is a button at the top of a podium in this room, push it and then go back
out to your sod-o-mobile. Put the giant wall on your left and head back toward
the smaller door you may or may not have passed on the way here. You'll now
it's the right one since it's labeled "1109" above the doorway.
Go through the doorway and, after a short cutscene, head down the hall that you
can see a repair bot at the end of. If you've previously beat this level this
is where you will find the hidden item, some good developer commentary on why
we're chasing a barbershop quartet. If you haven't beat the level before there
is a guard here who needs to be taken care of, and just follow the sign toward
the gift shop.
Scientist+cop=fodder. Only one way to go from here so head out the building and
get another visit from our friendly neighborhood tour-bot. And even better
access to our second special move, the projectile pancreas. Huzzah. This is my
second favorite move, it recharges quick enough so that you don't have to worry
about keeping it, and it's the only special move where you can have more than
one stored up. As for how they work it's pretty simple, throw them with "g" or
the right mouse button and explode them by pressing the key again. Kinda like
remote grenades. They stick to surfaces too, espiecially people. And they are
the only way to kill some flying enemies. Very usefull indeed.
After the cutscene there will be three police officers in front of you, this is
an excellent time to try out your new power, just throw it right in the middle
of them and explode it quick enough so that they don't have time to dodge. From
now on I'm not going to specifically tell you to use special powers or not
except in some important spots, feel free to use them whenever you like, you'll
have plenty.
Around the corner past some interesting looking plants is a couple of cops and
a couple of scientists, again no real strategy is required, you should have
some zombies with you and it will be simple. A few more steps and 3 more cops
and you find yourself back in the little white hallways. Just follow the signs
to the gift shop, they're yellow arrows on the floor.
A handfull of little white hallways and 2 cops and you're back outside. This
area is more populated with enemies, but between your excess internal organs
and flatulence it should pose a problem. There are two paths but they lead to
the same place and there is very little difference between them so just pick
one.
Back in the little white hallways again, I trust you don't need my help when
there is only one way to go? Good, watch out for the few cops that populate
these hallways. There is another developer commentary hippo head on the way
though, so if this is your second play through don't miss it.
Short cutscene featuring our favorite barbershop quartet, then you're back
outside heading along yet another garden path. This time you are traveling
under some glass walkways while fending off a small handfull of cops, don't
worry the game gets less repetitive in later levels.
Back in the little white hallways, more cops, more gift shop signs, more
developer commentary next to the repair-bot, yadda yadda. Hey look it's the
gift shop, hey look it's the end of the level, hey look it's...
3.3 The Slammer
Well that was a disturbing cutscene, anyway now it's time to eat the brains of
people who deserve to be eaten, convicts! They're just like civilians, you'd
think all those jail hardened muscles would prove a larger challenge, guess
they're all just talk. Anyway after you much a few brains head out through the
door.
This is the first level you might have trouble with, the enemy starts coming
out in large numbers, the level is almost exclusively in small rooms or
hallways, and it just doesn't give the much room to maneuver. But it's still
not too bad.
There are multiple enemies in the first few moons but if this is your second
time don't miss the developer hippo behind the two way mirror. A few rooms
later and you'll find yourself in a somewhat large hallway with two bathrooms
on the left side, both have an enemy in them and there is also a cop at the
end of the hall. These new breed of cops have a stun glove on that can deliver
a powerfull punch, try to avoid the business end hmm?
Around the corner past the bathrooms there is a video feed of the chief of
police, you'll see alot more of him next level but for now he's a talking head.
Past the good ole chief you'll find a large red room off the hallway go right
in. Uh oh, it's an ambush! OK, so it's just two cops who come out of some doors
but it's the closest thing we've seen to an ambush yet. Go through the door at
the far end of the big red room.
Two red rooms later there is a locker room. There are a couple of cops on
patrol but if you're careful you can sneak up on all of them and take them down
without a fight. You'll find more red rooms at the other end of the locker
room, walk a little ways into and the chief will talk again.
Now THIS is an ambush, if you snuck through the locker room you should have a
zombie horde and a stockpile of special moves stored up, both of which will
help in here. Just keep killing, eventually you'll get them all. There is only
one door in this room that doesn't lead back to somewhere you've already been,
it's got the exit sign above it.
It leads to a blue room and in all liklihood your horde has already taken care
of the enemies in here, if not give them a little help. Note the funny posters
on the wall and move on. Cutscene.
You know what they say, necessity is the mother of invention. So we get a new
power. The hand, also known as the five finger head count. The hand can walk up
walls, on ceilings, anywhere. It can be quite disconcerning, but it's worth it.
The hand is my favorite power. You can use it to possess enemies and turn their
own weapons against them. This gives you oppurtunitys to take control of people
using shotguns, laser cannons, bazookas, any number of heavy machinery. Very
useful. And the best thing? It recharges with only one brain munching.
Anyway run straight forward and into the ventilation system. Take a left and
then crawl straight through the system, you should come out on the cieling with
an officer walking around the room below you. Get close to him and press "e" to
possess him. Shoot the other two officers in this room and then leave the room
via the door by the computer desk, if you hit a square room you went the wrong
way. You should find yourself in a hallway, go left.
Follow the hallway to a larger room, there are multiple enemies at the far end
hide behind columns and quickly pop out to unload a few rounds. You'll end up
dying alot in this segment in all probability. The next room sets up a nice
little killzone, the enemies will hide behind a row of columns and you can fire
down the same line to hit all of them. Just keep strafing and you should be
fine.
Hit the button with the objective arrows and head into the jail cell area. Only
a few more enemies and you'll be back in your own body. Keep strafind and pray.
Hit the objective button at the end of the hall and you're back in the relative
safety of your own health regenerating body.
Head out into the hall and release the prisoners from jail for a quick horde,
the switches to open them are in the middle of the hall and glowing red. There
is also a new enemy in the hall, the riot gaurd, their shield makes it hard to
take them on one on one, but if you hit one enough you can rip off his arm and
use it to beat the others. With the arm it's a one shot kill.
Zombie horde in hand head out the same way you came in when you still had
control of the cop. We're back in the room with the columns now, apparantly
the gaurds got some reinforcements as there are more gaurds in the room this
time around. I had about 10 zombies by this point and it made the cops pretty
easy, just remember to use the zombies as decoys.
Keep going back down the way you came when you were just a piece of your
former self. This area is infested with cops, but they really aren't much of a
threat. Go through the door with the star on it and you find yourself in a
room full of desks, and computers.
More enemies, then go into the long hallway to the right of you from where you
entered. There are alot of enemies in this hallway and your zombie horde is
going to go right down the middle of the hallway. But I suggest that, once you
finish with the enemies at this end of the hallway, you take the side rooms
that run parallel to the hallway. You can get around the back of the cops this
way.
From there you can help your horde take out the rest of the cops and then head
through the large doorway at the end of the hall to end the level.
3.4 Cop Rock
The oddest level in the game, also the easiest to explain. You have to dance
your heart out, possibly literally. The minigame is essentially Simple Simon
and DDR mixed together. Copy the Chief's moves by using the keyboard move keys.
The colors on the dance floor match the keypad. If the bottom of the dance
floor lights up (green) press the down movement key "s" by default. Get it?
Good. If you don't get it just fail a few times and they'll give you the option
to skip the level.
3.5 Painting the Town Red
Head toward the intersection directly infront of you and start eating civilians
hurry though because you don't have much time until the cops arrive and you
have to fend them off. Hopefully you can get a few zombies by the time they
show up, between them and your killer intestines you should be alright.
Possibly alright with a decent sized zombie horde.
If you listen to the announcer you might realize that it's time to head toward
the parking garage, too bad you just fell off it's roof eh? No matter, take a
left at the intersection and follow the street toward a large paramount sign.
You'll see the parking garage entrance on your right, with some civilians
outside.
Head inside and fight the few cops right inside the entrance, you should be
able to catch both riot police members with one grenade and your zombie horde
can help you with the rest of the enemies. We're heading for the top of the
parking garage now (man it's really too bad we fell off) just follow the arrows
on the ground taking out any police on your way.
The enemies are going to be far away and as I've said before you won't do well
to run them down, if you don't have a zombie horde the detachable hand will
work well, if you do the horde will distract them while you sneak up behind.
At the bottom of the next ramp a cop car will drive down, don't let it hit you
it hurts. Cops come out but they're easily put down since they're already
surrounded by your horde. Continue past the car and up the ramp towards more
cops.
Round the corner and up the ramp for even more cops, try not to outrun you
horde, you really don't want to be left alone. After these last cops you should
be at the top, you can see your good friend guide bot standing by a large
doorway but if you've beaten the level before you can find some developer
commentary on the other side of the garage. Then go talk to guide bot.
New power, hurray. The head is the last power, and the most powerful. It can
even kill tanks in one shot, it's hard to find a place where it works really
well though. Press "x" to roll your head and "x" again to detonate it. There's
not much to say about this skill, it's powerful but I always found it to
difficult to use to make it truly good.
Use your head right now and take out the riot police. You can get all of them
with a perfect shot but most likely you'll have a few left, plus the normal
police in the back. When everyone is dead go through the door to find a rather
dark room full of enemies, you don't have to kill them though, just go through
the door in the back, your horde won't be able to follow you anyway.
Elevator up, now you're in a funny hallway with no horde but hopefully at least
a few grenades and a fart. If you used them last battle you'll still be able
to beat the next spot, but it will be alot harder. Use your hand to take
control of the cop at the end of the hallway, if you do well you can clear the
room, if you don't do well good luck.
The room is pretty large and there are multiple enemies, they give you a few
zombies but they're too spread out to be much use at first. With the cop you've
taken control of you can move around the top walkway and try to pick enemies
off. If you can't make them out to tell whats zombie and whats no just shoot
when your cursor goes red. When your cop dies, or everyone else in the room
does take control of your own body again and head to the far side of the room.
A door will open up and 3-4 riot police will run in, if you're quick you can
get them all with one grenade, otherwise you have to try to rip one of their
arms off. However you win you can now go out into the open street. In the
square in front of you alot of cops are going to show up. Take out a few to
get your horde started then run for one of the hallways on either side of the
square. Go up the ramp inside to come out on the balcony and take out the cops
up here. From one side there is an overhead walkway to the other side, get both
the cops that are up here and head back down to ground level.
Head toward Woody's House of Wax, then take a right and head toward the movie
theatre. Once you're partway up the ramp a door will open behind you and some
cops will start coming down the ramp. Turn around and throw a grenade at the
cops coming from the door as they're bunched up for a short while and you can
take out the lot of them, then focus on the ones in front. There are alot of
them but there really isn't any special strategy other than to make sure your
horde is within striking distance.
Take a left at the movie theatre and kill the three cops on the side of the
street. There is only one way to go so follow the street. When you see the
overpass watch out because the cops are bearing down and, atleast for me, your
zombie horde just mostly abandoned you. Roll your head and take out one of the
groups of cops at the far end of the street then go through the garage door
on the right of the street, it will open when you get close.
Funky rug... anyway go forward then take a left and you'll find yourself on the
overpass, take out the cops up here so your zombie horde can work their magic
on the cops below. There are only two on the overpass but the room beyond is
dark and has about 5, I had trouble seeing them so this area proved a problem
for me but if you can see them fine you'll walk through it. Take a right when
you're done.
You'll find the second overpass. There are more cops on this one and just as
many in the room beyond but it's lighter. When they are dead take the elevator
behind then down a level. There is a cop down the alley, I suggest taking over
him with your hand and marching him around the corner to try to pick off a few
people from the other side. After that you can try to lure them around the
corner and take them on one by one, this is a hard spot to do since they took
your horde away.
After head into the loading bay area to finish the level.
3.6 Punchbowl Maul
New enemies, red necks. They're armed with shotguns or one shot brown bess
civil war vintage rifles. The shotgun guys are great to take over with your
hand as the shotguns are very powerful. It also means that they are the LAST
person you want to try to chase down, you'll lose.
Okay, so we're in a warehouse and we've got two people in front of use with no
zombies to help. If you feel confident about running up to people you can try
it or just throw one of the two grenades they give you at the start of the
level.
Outside the warehouse there are 4 red necks just waiting to ambush you, grenade
them. There are also more red necks across the street and civilians up and down
the street. When you've killed them a cutscene showing more red necks plays.
They are coming out of the warehouse. Take care of them.
There are more coming out of the mall (notice the ones in red pajamas) so don't
forget about them. When everyone is dead head into the mall.
Plenty of civilians in here, more red necks too. Time to rebuild your horde.
Got a horde now? Good, go up the ramp thing onto the second level, take out
more rednecks here, then cross the overpass to the outside edge of the mall and
enter the store called "The Teevee Teepee". There are more red necks and
civilians in here, clear the floor and head up the stairs in the back.
There are more enemies on the second level of Teevee Teepee, and even more
outside the store on the 3rd floor of the mall. Kill all the red necks and
civilians then go inside the store labeled "Musk Ox".
It's the same deal as the last store, take out the enemies on the first floor
head to the second then watch a cutscene.
This guy if the first boss of the game, hopefully you have your special powers
left, throw everything you got at him. He won't be dead yet so lead him back to
the "Musk Ox" civilians and zombies will spawn here every now and then, when he
is focused on them you can claw at his back. Just stay away from the business
end of that chainsaw. If you get low on life run around until you heal. When HE
gets low on life you can rip off his arm and beat him with it. Eventually you
can eat his brain and end the level.
3.7 Fall of the House of Otis
Hey corn. I love corn, do you know why I love corn? Because it's the best
hiding place for zombies EVER! The enemy cannot see you in the corn field
unless you have attacked them recently, I've run in to people in the corn field
and they haven't seen me. Don't worry, be happy.
Get into the corn field on the right side of the road and head toward the
little house. Visibility is strictly limited in the corn field but if you turn
the camera so that your looking down the rows of corn you should be able to see
people.
A group of 6 red necks will march down the middle of the road as you approach
the house. Wait in the corn until 3 of them hide in it, sneak around the back
of them and suck their heads dry, you can probably get two if not all 3 before
they see you. Almost directly accross from where those people are hiding there
are 3 more in the corn on the other side, drop a grenade right between them and
take them all out.
Go into the corn to the left of the house and give the red necks a wide berth.
Come up behind the red neck with the machine gun and get him, then bust through
the door of the house and kill the guy in there. Exit the house and use special
powers to take out the other enemies, there are alot of them and your horde
won't be much help, they are pretty powerful.
When everyone is gone, it may take a few tries, follow the path, stay in the
corn as long as possible in case you missed someone. There is a developer hippo
in the middle of the small corn field (it's next to the scarecrow) if you've
beaten the level before. There is a red neck at the mouth of the "moutainous
pass" and four of his friend further down with 2 more around the corner. Most
of them are shotgun weilders, watch out. Or you can use your hand on the very
first guy and try to take down a few shotgun people with your superior ranged
weapon.
There are more people as you come into another corn field, this is another
part where you're going to have to fight alot of red necks, and now they throw
chainsaw guys at you as well. But first there are red necks hiding in the corn
at the beginning of the dirt road to take care of (and another developer hippo
in the corn field on the left).
Head toward the gate and release the sheep (I don't know why but free range
sheep are cool) by destroying the gate and some red necks will open the other
gate and charge at you. You can run forward and meet them or stay in the corn
and ambush them, either way isn't easy but if you run forward to meet them you
don't have to fight them all at one time.
There are a few more people around the house and another red neck drives a
pretty deadly looking tractor down the hill. Also, behind the grove of trees
you will find a pretty disturbing scene with rednecks attempting SOMETHING with
the poor sheep, if you kill the people the sheep thanks you proclaiming that
from this day forward zombies and sheep will be friends o_O
Take care of the people and jump in the tractor, cleverly named the impale-a
not to be confused with a similarlynamed chevy, and drive it along the dirt
road. Some people will pop out from behind the rock formation to your left just
run them down and continue along the dirt road.
You'll come to a field with some hay stacks, there are enemies on the road,
hidden in the haystacks, and one guy in a machine gun nest. You don't really
need to kill anyone since you can just outrun them but it's fun to kill them.
The people in the haystacks will be your biggest problem but the tractor can
fit, it just doesn't want to.
Keep going along the dirt road, there are two paths but one is rather obviously
blocked so go in the only way you can. More enemies and haystacks, maybe
another machine gun nest, kill to your bored then go inside the shed, park the
tractor and go destroy the door in the corner.
The door collapses behind you, see told you that you didn't need to kill
everyone, make your way through the halls to the outside. If you're careful
you can take over one of the shotgun red necks with your hand otherwise your
going to have to use your head, or your pancreas since there is no way you can
run up to those guys without taking alot of damage.
The yard infront of the large house is full of enemies, some can be avoided by
swinging around the back of the barn but you'll have to kill most, there is no
real point to going inside the barn unless you just want to see a hilarious
cutscene (and grab a developer hippo) so I suggest skipping it as it is a very
hard area.
Once you manage to reach the house you'll here some rednecks mention that only
one door is unbarred, it's around back but first search the windows for people
to kill, break through them just like in the movies! The door you need to break
through is on the left side of the house, go ahead and do that.
If you take a left from the entrance you can find two red necks in a little
room to add to your horde, take them or leave them doesn't matter. When you are
ready move farther down and break through the door on the right. There is a
large group of enemies in this ground but a well placed grenade should thin
their numbers.
Go through the door on the left hand wall from where you entered the room, down
the hall a squidge and turn right into a dark room. Take out the red neck in
here and go through the other door, straight across another room and into a
room with a staircase. There are a few enemies in here too but you should be
able to handle it.
Head up the stairs. In the adjoining room there is a red neck but he's facing
away from you and you should be able to sneak up behind him, break through the
doorway that he was facing and take out the shotgun guy there. In the dark
hallway connected to that room I've noticed a glitch/error/bug whatever. Some
play throughs I've encountered a chainsaw guy here, sometimes I haven't. If you
don't consider yourself lucky if you do good luck, awfully tight quarters for
a chainsaw guy.
At the end of the dark hallway there is an elongated room with one red neck at
the end, but somehow red necks will come from behind you and then come out of
the room in front of you, lay down some serious methane or a grenade to even
the odds and you should do fine. If you missed the chainsaw guy in the dark
hallway say hello to him in the next room, at least he's easer to fight here.
There is another chainsaw guy in the next room, but if you bust through the
door on the right in ends the level without you having to fight him.
3.8 When Zombie Breaks
See I told you sheep and zombies will be friends forever. Anyway there is a
developer hippo to the left and the exit is to the right. Around the corner you
find a scientist carrying on a conversation with a repair bot about yours truly
kill the scientist and some cops show up, might as well kill them too and head
the direction that they came from.
You'll meet your first scientist with a laser beam here, these red laser are
nice since they're so easy to dodge, in the next room there are some large
generators and more ray gun weilding scientists. The exit is at the far end but
there is a developer hippo in the corner to the left of where you entered.
The next room contains the third most annoying enemies in the game, blue ray
gun wielding scientists, these blue rays move to quickly to dodge and knock you
back when you get hit, making it almost impossible to run up to the enemy. They
do little damage unless they corner you but it's VERY annoying. This room isn't
easy to clear but you should have some grenades left.
The next room has some nasty vats in them and 3 red scientists. Not too much
difficulty. This is where jump kills really come into their own, these
scientists can be taken down easily with a well placed leap onto their heads.
The next room has even larger vats and more scientists, this time some more of
those annoying blue laser guys, don't jump at these guys you get knocked back
easier in the air. The door at the back is an elevator so you'll lose your
horde.
You'll see a cutscene then have an oppurtunity to much brains after it, there
are two scientists and you can sneak up on both. The next room has a blue
scientists and a group of red ones, this is a good spot for a head roll. When
you reach said room the zombies behind a glass wall will break through and
help.
The big steel door is closed and you'll have to find a way of unlocking it so
instead head through the hallway to the large room with scientists that are
probably shooting at you. You're going to have to get past the scientists and
go up the ramp around the edge of the room to the computer console. Activate it
and you'll see the door open.
Go back down and through the door, activate another computer console in here to
open another door back by the elevator, head back through that door and you'll
get a cutscene.
The objective in this part of the game is to pee in the water until it is
completely infected with zombie germs. World domination will soon be ours! This
is not a particularly easy spot as after a little bit of time there will be
quite a few enemies to deal with and if you fall in the water you have to climb
back up.
Pee in the water whenever you get a chance, use grenades and farts to try to
cut down on the enemies if it gets too crowded, the hand is useless here and
it takes a long time to roll your head so you might just want to skip that.
It takes a lot of pee to contaminate the pool fully but you should be able to
do it with a few tries. After a cutscene head into the large archway in front
of you and kill the cops to your right.
Head down that path through the red columns, there are alot of scientists here
and you're going to meet the top two most annoying people in the game. First
you meet the second most annoying person, it's an uber blue scientist that
shoots the normal blue gun but he can shoot it almost constantly, very
annoying. Secondly you're going to meet a flying member of the barbershop
quartet. You can really only kill him with grenades so I hope you have a few.
You may have seen the uber blue scientists at the peeing part but thats only
sometimes.
At the end of the path you find an elevator, it leads to a long room with
multiple electric generators. There are many enemies in here as well but I've
told you how to deal with enemies before. You have to activate each generator
by pushing a button located on top of each one. It will turn on a powerful
electrical field around it that does alot of damage if you touch it. You can
either suck it up and run through them or jump off the top of the generator and
walk up the stairs again. Either way activate all three and kill the scientists
that come out of the door then go through said door. Head down the hall for a
cutscene.
Now your job is to get all 4 terminals working at the same time, just stop next
to one and a zombie will jump out to complete the circuit. Run over people when
you can as they will try to kill the zombies that you use. In order to get to
the back two terminals you have to drive around a ramp at either end.
Connect all four and some more enemies will show up including a flying barber,
kill them (eat a few of their brains to replenish the zombies they may have
killed and keep driving around, enemies will randomly spawn at one of the four
terminals and kill your poor zombie, fend them off long enough and the level
ends.
3.9 The Sacking of Punchbowl
Good news, you start out with a good sized zombie horde, but now you have to
fight the military, they are alot harder than red necks and cops. Also in the
next levels there are alot more obstacles on the street to contend with, sand
bags and that sort of thing. The same strategys that worked before will work
again but it will be a harder fight.
There are a bunch of soldiers at the end of the street take the out and more
soldiers come out from behind a barricade. Through the barricade are even more
soldiers and there are even more around the next corner.
Next is probably my favorite little area of the game, go inside the diner look
at that atmosphere, listen to the background music, eat the civilians brains.
I absolutely love this little diner, I have no idea why. When you're done
taking in the site break through the door in the back by the jukebox. Hey
bathrooms, there is another breakable door around the back.
Watch out for the mines on the ground, they are a one hit kill and you'll be
mad if you land on one. take out the soldier behind the sand bags and go around
the mass of car wrecks. There are more mines to your left but you don't need
to worry about them, head toward the soldier on your right.
There are a few more soldiers around the corner and a mine field so thick you
can't walk through it, in a moment we're going to jump onto that van and then
over the mine field but first take out your hand and march it all the way
down the street and up a large building to your left. There is a sniper up
there that you can take over and pick off some enemies with. When he dies then
you can jump over the mines.
Your zombies will probably all be dead from mines at this point so the next
area is dangerous if you didn't do well with your sniper, use grenades, farts,
heads, whatever you need to get past these soldiers and the next ones that
show up in the next area.
Kill kill kill and then start walking down the next street (you could jump over
the rubble pile straight ahead and skip a large part of the level but that
would be cheating wouldn't it?), don't go out in the open at the intersection
though because there is a bazooka soldier hiding in the building with the red
overhang thingy. Use your hand to take control of him then march him around
and take out whatever soldiers you can find. These guys are great anti-personal
people so you can probably take out almost everyone.
Apparantly he isn't always there but I've always found him there so go figure,
whether or not he's there you are going to want to head into the building on
the left side and sneak down the street building to building, that way the
soldiers at the end of the street won't be able to shoot you.
When you come out the other side of the building you will be able to see alot
of soldiers and some mines to your right, take out the soldiers and head to the
left.
Past this next group of soldiers is your objective, you have to break down this
very large wall by building a horde of zombies and then protecting them while
they bash the wall. This is a mildly difficult spot and you're might have to
run away and heal more than once. Grenades and farts are great as this is close
quarter fighting but the hand can take control of the bazooka guy up in the
building and he can do almost all the work for you, only thing is he can't
build a zombie horde so make sure you have one to start with.
In the middle of the scene a jeep will pull up and more soldiers pop out but
there are only three and all the other soldiers come from where you came in.
The gate falls down fast once you get all set up, there are some civilians
hiding in the building to the right but you're supposed to go into the
punchbowl library to the left.
This point is kinda funky, when I play I get a cutscene and wind up at the
beginning of a new street with absolutely no idea how I got there. If your game
plays differently please e-mail me.
Anyway from this point head forward and you have another smash down the gate
objective but this one is much harder and you WILL have to run to heal atleast
sometime. You can use your hand to take over the people up above the wall and
that works very well but in the end it's really just a normal area but harder,
no tricks, no tips, just survive and break down the door.
When the door breaks down the level ends, well I think it ends because my game
goes funny again, in the cutscene you see a tank, dive to the side, and then
(in my game) you see yourself walking into a labratory with a big statue thats
crashed into the ground with no explanation, it just doesn't add up. E-mail me
if yours works different.
3.10 The Doctor Will see you Now
So you start in the middle of a large room with a few zombies and scientists
coming from all sides. What do yo do? Well, you start by going directly to one
side of the room and using the statue in the middle to block the enemy from
shooting you, no need to make yourself a target. Then you gotta start eating
brains. Jump-kills are still the absolute fastest way to go about it but
they're still not easy, grenades work but for the most part the enemy is very
spread out so they aren't efficient.
So what does it come down to? Skill and luck, I'm pretty lacking in the first
department but I've got the luck of the devil, it's not that this is a
particularly hard spot, it's just there is no way to go about it. Good luck,
I'll see you when the battle is over.
Head through the door on the bottom level of the room it leads to a red lit
hallway with a scientist in it, ignore him and go into the room on the right
you can sneak up on a scientist in here and the one in the hallway if you're
careful. You'll notice that some scientists come out from further down the
hallway and start shooting at you from behind a barricade, grenades work well
here.
To get around the barricade just go into the room on the left side of the
hallway, go into a room connecting that, and back into the original hallway but
behind the barricade. There may be more scientists, sometimes there are
sometimes there aren't, depends on if you missed any before.
Go into the room accross the hallway and up the glowing green staircase, this
is just the first of many you'll see in this level so get used to losing your
horde. (You can whistle them up after you but they won't follow you normally
and they won't group at the bottom of the stairs either so you pretty much have
to move them completely manually.
There is a barricade (well, it looks like a barricade but you can walk over it)
in front of you and a scientist shooting you down the hall to the right. Go
after the scientist but watch out because more will shoot you through the
window to your left as you pass by. There are alot of scientists in this hall
and in the room at the end, if you got your zombies from the floor below it
isn't too hard but if you didn't it could be a struggle.
Head into the room at the end of the hall, into another room off that room, and
back into the hall on the other side of a barricade. Go across the hall into a
new room. If you start walking down the hall some of those annoying blue
scientists will pop out, instead go into the door to your left. Kill the
scientists that were shooting at you through the window earlier and throw a
grenade into the hall to kill the blue scientists.
Go back into the room that had the blue scientists and then go into the hall
at the far end of the room, it puts you behind the barricade that we saw at the
top of the staircase, sure you could've jumped over the barricade but where is
the fun in that? Go around the corner and into a little hallway to find the
next staircase.
There is a developer hippo in the bathroom to your immeadiate left so grab it
if you've been here before, then go into the hallway to your right and around
the corner, some scientists with blue guns are trying to snipe you off, the
head roll works well here if you still have it. If you don't good luck going
down the hall without getting blown back all the time.
You don't have to go all the way to the end, just to the first doorway, in
there you find alot of blue scientists that are in immeadiate need of a
brain-ectomy. Head into the hallway at the far end of the room and notice the
scientist at the end of the hall, he hasn't noticed you yet (maybe) so you can
sneak up on him with your hand and use him to kill whoever you can find, or
just de-brain him.
THe first room to your left has a scientist in it and the next green staircase
at the end of a little hallway.
In the next room there's something fishy going on, repair bots gone mad! They
attack you now, luckily they attack scientists too, use that to your advantage
but remember they explode when you kill them so watch your life, obviously you
can't eat their brains either. Kill everything in this tiny room, push the
glowy button (ooh pretty), and go through the door that opens. It's an elevator
wonderful.
The next room you come to features a bunch of enemies on the ground and 2 up on
the second level, the easiest way to get them is to just use grenades, or you
can ignore them and get them later. Either way go through the door with the
exit sign when you're done killing. (and up another green staircase)
The next room features a bunch of repair bots that are apparantly de-activated
around the perimeter of the room. As you can probably guess they'll wak up in
a bit so throw a grenade on one of them and walk through the open door at the
other end of the room. Activate the button in there and then set off the
grenade. Some scientists will come into the room from the door you opened and
you can either grenade them or fart in their general direction when they're
bunched up in the door frame.
In the next room there isn't much, but in the next hallway there isn't much,
but in the NEXT room there is a two scientists and a green staircase.
In the room at the top you can wait by the door and ambush some scientists that
come in from the hallway, in the hallway itself you can roll your head at the
group of scientists shooting you at the end of the hallway. At the end of the
hallway you can go into an empty room to go around the barricade or just jump
over. Whatever you do go up the green staircase at the end.
This is a hard area, first you should sneak through this first room and eat as
many scientist brains as you can without alerting anyone (to keep the zombies
in peak physical condition) and then you have to push and whistle them through
the door and into the next room because you do NOT want to go in there alone.
It's easy at first, you can even sneak up on one or two scientists before they
know that you're there but before the battle is over there will be 3 or 4 waves
of reinforcements including blue scientists and super blue scientists. Eat as
many brains as you can and use those grenades whenever a blue scientist shows
up, good luck, up next is the boss. But before you leave via the funny symbol
in the middle of the room get the developer hippo from one of the doors that
the enemies spawned out of.
This boss, though difficult, is simple. He flies around shooting you with his
laser beam while you have to hit the buttons in the middle of the room. There
are four of them and if you get them all his shield will go down and he will
take damage. You can hurt him when his shield is down but if it works any
better than just hitting the button is unconfirmed.
When you get low on life you can hide in the circular hallway that runs around
the edge of the room to heal up. Hit the four buttons four times and the big
bad german dies a most amusing death. NEXT LEVEL!
3.11 Paved with Good Intentions
If I had to choose one word to describe this level it would be vehicular. At
least half the time you are driving a vehical in this level, very fun, not too
difficult. Kind of a bonus level if you ask me. Anyway head to the end of the
road, there are civilians around here but don't worry about it, like I said
half the time you're going to be in a vehical and a zombie horde wouldn't be
able to keep up.
Run as fast as you can and try to throw a grenade at that jeep, if he gets
away there is alot of walking to do, and frankly I'm not writing a FAQ for that
so don't let him get away, if you do you can just restart the level.
So jump in the jeep and drive down the road, running over civilians, avoiding
falling bombs, that sort of thing. You're going to want to drive on the right
side of the road and drive under the cement awning to avoid the falling bombs.
Down the road there is going to be a crack that runs all the way across the
road, if you fall in you're probably not going to be able to get out, but if
you're really careful (and a little lucky) you can make it over and use the
jeep to kill the soldiers. Otherwise you'll have to do it by hand, either way
you have to walk through the minefield past the soldiers because the jeep can't
follow.
At this point it may be useful to use grenades to blow up the mines and clear a
path for the jeep, I found that to be more of a waste than it helped though,
and since there are a couple of bazooka joes hanging around here the jeep isn't
very safe.
There are more enemies past the mine field and once you are done with them the
way out is marked with an exit sign and can be found next to the large pile of
rubble. Inside the building there is a ramp to your right, at the top of it
you will find the a bunch of windows with a street full of soldiers below you.
It's possible to jump out the window and sneak up on a few soldiers, or you can
throw a grenade down from the window at them while they are talking in a small
group. Either way you won't be able to get them all at once and will have to
play clean up.
Start heading down the street, there are enemies all over this place, machine
gun nests and the like. Civilians on occasion. One or two snipers up on the
roof tops but a good idea is to control them with your hand and use them to
your own advantage. The only thing you do not want to do is use up your head
bomb because you'll need it at the end of the street.
What is at the end of the stree? well you'll find it soon enough, it's not that
far. Yep, it's a tank. Huzzah. There is a little command post you can use for
cover from it, once you kill off the soldiers inside. And civilians keep
showing up for you to eat if you hang around long enough. You CAN kill the tank
with grenades but it's alot harder than simply rolling your head at it. If you
don't have grenades, or a head, or the patience to wait for civilians to show
up you can use your hand to control a bazooka joe that still might be alive and
take out the tank that way.
Once the tank is dead you can get inside and use it, hooray, press the left
mouse button to fire the cannon and the right mouse button to fire the machine
gun. The exit door will open and soldiers will pour out. Use the cannon on them
and it isn't a problem at all. Unfortuneatly now you have to leave the tank,
aww, and go through the exit door that opened up.
Inside you may find a soldier or two depending on who came out of the door, and
in the next room to your right, then down the hall off of that you'll come back
out to a street. You can sneak up on the guy with his back to you, or take
control of him with your hand and try to do some damage. The latter is the
better option as there are quite a few enemies out in the street.
Once those guys are gone I know for a fact that there is a sniper on the over
hang on the left side of the street, I'd use my hand on him as well and try to
take out more enemies, there are many, many, down the street.
When your sniper gets picked off you'll need to go down the street yourself,
this is far from an easy spot. There is a medium sized group on your left and a
much larger group farther down the street on your right, and another sniper up
in the ramparts.
It will probably take alot of special weapons to get through here, I hope you
have some left. I made it through before with nothing but my hand and one
grenade but it wasn't easy and I'd prefer to not repeat the experience, how
exactly you want to take out the enemies is up to you but you should go for the
group on your left first, it's smaller and if you do it well the group farther
one won't know about it. The biggest problem here is the flying barber that
shows up.
In order to kill the group farther on you'll have to rely on attracting their
attention and then pulling them one by one around a corner. However you manage
there is an orange door marked with an exit sign waiting for you at the end of
the street on the right.
Follow through the passage until you come back out to another street, there are
a bunch of soldiers but miraculously none are paying any attention to you and
you can sneak up on most of them. Also they give you a zombie horde here to
help. Kill the people and then go down the street and hop into the jeep and
take off quickly, or if you feel special you can try to take down another tank
and use that as transport.
If you are in the jeep run past most everything, if you're in the tank you
might as well blow everything to smithereens. At the end of the street go into
the flower shop, it gives you a green marker. Then hop back in the tank/jeep
and head back toward the other green marker, even if you're in the jeep you
want to kill those two barbers that you see, they can be a pain if left
unchecked.
Go into the building marked with the exit sign and come out the other side,
behind the fire. Come out the end of the street and get into the un-inhabited
tank. *note the cool barbershop quartet song playing in the background*. It's
tank battle time.
Drive to the left first, go around the giant ditches and shoot any tank that
starts to get too close, once the orange sign appears above they're head turn
to a new target.
When you've taken care of all the tanks driving around drive up the step toward
city hall, if you get out and walk a bunch of peple will come out and kill you
immeadiately, if you're in the tank you stand a chance of surviving. Bazooka
joes and bazooka barbers, even flying barbers, start coming at you, from both
of the city hall doors, and from random directions as well.
Bazooka joes do the most damage and they're hard to see in the dark so take
them out first, then the flying guys who are very hard to shoot, then play the
clean up game, go inside city hall to finish the level.
3.12 The Ghoul of your Dreams
Last level, hurray. It's kind of short but very very difficult. They star you
off in a room full of barbers and no zombies in site, the only way you're going
to live through this is if you clean out one of the halls on the ground floor,
then you can use that hall to fill yourself up on life becaues the enemy will
rarely follow you down it.
Use lots of grenades on the barbers unless they are by themselves, farting is
nice, so are head shots from far away. If you stand out in the hall you can
actually use your hand to take control of one of the flying barbers, this is
nice since you can normally take out the other one by shooting him and maybe a
few more enemies before you die, so it gets rid of both flying barbers at once.
Use your hand as often as you can, don't worry about building a zombie horde,
they won't be any use here. The goal is to reach the third level and enter a
door up there, the first level is the most dangerous because there are the most
enemies and the second floor can shoot at you as well. If you get up to the
second floor you are in good shape, don't leave enemies behind though or they
will follow you up.
When you finally get to the top floor you'll get a cutscene and a whole bunch
of barbers come out of a door, this is pretty easy though since they're close
together and one fart can hit them all. clear those guys out and head through
the door (you need to kill all the enemies to open the door).
Long cutscene with another appearance from guide bot, then a boss battle. This
guy is ridiclously hard, he's so hard in fact that I couldn't beat him without
cheating or turning down the difficulty. I know HOW to beat him though, and
this is the way it is supposed to work.
This boss has two attacks, he sends out homing missles and a really powerful
version of the blue laser, if you get hit by the powerful laser you're pretty
much toast, I can't see a way around it. In order to kill the boss you need to
drop enough of the force field around him to get to him and eat his brain.
Run around the edge of the room as fast as you can and camp behind the arch on
the other side, he can't reach you behind here and it's right next to the doors
where the barbers spawn, eating one of their brains will give you a full
grenade to use on the boss' forcefield. In fact, grenades and head rolls are
the only thing I can recommend be used on the force field, its too dangerous
to use your claws.
Take it slow, once the battle get's rolling you should have zombies down at the
other end of the room taking out civilians as fast as they can enter, this
makes the boss turn his focus to the other end of the room, you still don't
want to use claws though, because he can turn around awfully fast.
Whenever a barber appears force him to go into melee mode by getting close and
then back up to behind the arch so the boss can't hit you, take him out and
throw another grenade at the boss' forcefield, they are two layers, the outer
one turns one way and the inner one turns the other, they both take about 3
grenades to take out one section of force field and if you let it the sections
will regenerate with time.
Eventually by playing it slow and lobbing grenades you can open up a path to
the boss, here is where I always die however as when you run up to the boss he
turns around and shoots me before I can eat his brain. But that is the strategy
how to run up to the boss is up to you, I've yet to figure it out. If you have
a working strategy please e-mail me at

David Ford writes:
The key is to hide behind those far pillars (the ones over near where the
Barbers come out). Then, as soon as a barber comes out of his little closet,
you run into this closet. The barber will follow you in and you can beat him
down until you are able to eat his brain. Sometimes, after eating the barbers
brain, a civilian will walk over to the little closet that you are in and you
can eat his brain too. I would remain in this closet and throw my head from
inside there (since it’s a safe spot). Following this I’d return to hiding
behind the pillars until the next barber came out, then I’d run over and run
inside his closet, he would follow me in, I’d beat him down with my attack
until I could eat his brain. Rinse and repeat. The force fields didn’t seem
to rejuvenate fast enough to pose a problem, so I just took my time until I
was able to penetrate both layers of force field. Following this, I got a
nice cut scene and the game was over (and they lived happily ever after).
