1) INTRODUCTION [X-INT]
===============================================================================
(Taken from the instruction booklet)
Urban racing isn't easy.
Lampposts. Pesky street signs. Traffic. And those pedestrians! Who do they
think they are, just walking on the sidewalk like that?
But, you're brave. And crazy. And that's impressive.
You're welcome.
Welcome to Midtown Madness 3. Here, you have the freedom to drive what you
want, where you want, how you want, and through the power of Xbox Live – with
whomever you want. No set course through checkpoints. Just you, making your own
decisions on how to win races through real cities in real vehicles.
In addition to the insane urban racing you've come to expect from Midtown
Madness, this game has new vehicles, new cities, new multiplayer games, a new
Work Undercover mode, and Xbox Live... so rest assured you spent your money
wisely.
To quote the legendary Dieter Kleinmann: "Eines Tages warden wir in einer Welt
Rennen fahren, in der alle Rennstars Sauerkraut un Wurste umsonst bekommen!"*
* We don't know what that means.
===============================================================================
2) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS [X-FAQ]
===============================================================================
Q: How many cars are there in the game?
A: Counting 32 default cars and the 2 secret ones, there are 34 altogether.
Q: So how exactly do I unlock the cars?
A: You can unlock cars by progressing through the Blitz, Checkpoint, and Work
Undercover modes. If you want to see how to unlock a certain car, check the
"Car Statistics" section.
Q: What are the paint jobs for?
A: Paint jobs give you access to more colours for your cars. These paint jobs
are scattered throughout the cities; also, note that you can only retrieve
a paint job for the car that it was meant for. For example: you cannot get
a paint job for the Ambulance if you are currently using the Fire Truck.
Q: I found a paint can labelled as '?????'. What's it for?
A: There are two of these elusive cans, one in each city; they unlock the two
secret cars (ASP in Paris, Serpent MK2 in Washington DC). See the 'Secret
Cars' section for more details.
Q: What's the fastest car?
A: Hands down, no competition whatsoever, the Koenigsegg CC. Just remember that
speed is not necessarily the key factor for winning races in Midtown Madness
3; this is urban racing and, as such, you're going to encounter traffic -
and when in a particularly fast car, you just might lose control and crash.
Q: Where is the best location to achieve my top speed?
A: The highways/freeways or the subways; generally, any long road will do.
Q: What can I do in Cruise mode?
A: Look for paint jobs, learn the streets for good racing routes, get chased by
police, explore the streets, etc.
Q: What do the police do?
A: What they *should* do – track down any miscreants on the road. If you're
caught doing anything that may harm others, the police will magically appear
out of nowhere and basically chase you around. They'll call for
reinforcements once in a while, and when they catch up to you, don't fret –
your car should be more than enough to make a getaway.
===============================================================================
3) BASIC INFORMATION [X-BAS]
===============================================================================
Before racing through the streets of Washington DC and/or making your way to
racing stardom, you'll have to create yourself a game 'Profile'. Profiles are
handy in the manner that they track all of your statistics throughout the game,
such as:
* The number of cars you've unlocked,
* The settings you've applied,
* Your progress in Work Undercover mode,
* Your progress in Blitz Mode, and
* Your progress in Checkpoint Mode.
After creating a profile and naming it (don't worry if you don't like the name
you entered; you can always rename it later), you're free to roam the streets!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.1) MODES OF PLAY [B-MOD]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WORK UNDERCOVER: Select a city – either Paris or Washington DC – and traverse
through a mysterious plot as you get in your career. Start with a low-class job
and an equally low-class car, but as you complete the given missions, you'll be
promoted to higher, more significant jobs. More jobs = more missions, and
getting ever-close to uncovering the real story...
SINGLE RACE: Single Race contains three modes of play:
* Cruise Mode: Explore the streets, find paint jobs, wreck havoc and get chased
by the police, all at your own leisure.
* Blitz Mode: Race through the checkpoints and finish before the time runs out.
* Checkpoint Mode: The same as Blitz Mode, but this time around you have
opponents that race against you.
MULTIPLAYER: Beat your friends senseless through multiplayer (split screen),
System Link (link with another Xbox) or Xbox Live.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.2) CONTROLS [B-CON]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't feel comfortable with your current configuration, remember that
you can always change it by going to Options > Controller Setup from the Main
Menu.

4) VEHICLE STATISTICS [C-STA]
===============================================================================
A few notes to remember before we start:
* The vehicles are listed in alphabetical order.
* The order in which you get the paint jobs doesn't matter.
* You can only retrieve a paint job for the car you are currently using – if
you're using the Fire Truck, then you can't retrieve the Ambulance paint job.
* Just in case you have the game's manual, I have included references on the
maps on pages 23 and 24 as to where you can find the paint jobs.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.1) DEFAULT VEHICLES [C-DEF]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: 1959 Eldorado Seville
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
Acceleration – XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
Mass - XXXXXXXOO (7/9)
Handling - XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
Durability - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
TO UNLOCK: Complete the Washington Pizza Deliverer job in Work Undercover
Mode.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
To the left side of page 23 is a garden, East of Place De La Concorde. On one
of the walls surrounding the garden is a ramp that will lead you to this paint
job. Gather enough speed by driving along the wall then hit the ramp, and
within no time you'll reach it.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
South of the Whitehurst Freeway (page 24) is what seems to be two roads that
stick out into the Potomac River, but are actually part of a dock. Head over
there, and find the mound of dirt West of "Rock Creek and Potomac Pkwy". You
will need that mound of dirt to reach the paint job – it might seem easy, but
it's actually pretty hard. I suggest starting where the Whitehurst Freeway
connects to the dock, and making your way to the mound of dirt.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Ambulance
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
Acceleration – XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
Mass - XXXXXXXXO (8/9)
Handling - XXXOOOOOO (3/9)
Durability - XXXXXXXOO (7/9)
TO UNLOCK: Complete the Paris Paramedic Job in Work Undercover Mode.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
The first paint job is in Paris, where the hospital is. Look for a blue medical
symbol on page 23. It is near the "Boulevard Des Batignolles", located
somewhere at the top of the page. Head over to the second level of the
hospital, and you should find the paint job.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Look for the Lincoln Memorial at page 24, right beside the Potomac River. On
the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial is the paint job.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Armored Car

PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
You'll find this hidden paint job at the lower right area of page 23, where
there is a small section there roughly shaped like a C, with two smaller grassy
areas. Drive over there to get the paint job.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
To the left side of page 25 is the Washington Monument, where the paint job is
located.

TO UNLOCK: Complete the first six Blitz Races in Paris.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
Go to where Quai Des Tuileries begins (found on the left side of page 23). From
there, you should be where the street enters Place De La Concorde. If you look
up, the paint job should be floating in mid-air. Drive on top of one of the
walls near the garden, and use the jump to get it.
PAINT JOB #2 (Paris)
Somewhere at the bottom of page 23 is the place where the La Seine and Notre
Dame meet. The paint job is floating in the air over there, which means you
have to use the ramp to get it. Gain enough speed to reach it.
PAINT JOB #3 (Washington DC)
Locate the Whitehurst Freeway on page 24, then drive towards the place where it
bends Northward towards Georgetown University. To the East should be a section
that you can drive along south of a small river. Keep on driving to the east
from south of that river until you come across a ramp with the paint job above
it. Use the ramp to get the paint job.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Audi TT
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)

TO UNLOCK: Complete the Paris Special Agent job in Work Undercover Mode.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
On the right side of page 22, locate the Cours Alpert 1ER and Quai D'Orsay. In
between these two streets is La Seine, and floating above it is the pain job.
Use the ramp on the northern side of the La Seine with some speed to reach it.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Right side of page 25 is the US Capitol, to the right of a trapezium-shaped
pool. Use the ramp on the southern side of the building to grab the paint job
in mid-air over Independence Avenue.

it by driving down onto the walkway next to the La Seine until you reach the
dead end, where you should see a mound of dirt behind some cones.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Look for a grey area full of little buildings North from the Washington Channel
and East to "Raoul Wallenberg Pl.", found on the lower section of page 25.
Amongst these buildings you'll find a curved ramp, and above it is the paint
job.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Cement Truck

Acceleration – OOOOOOOOO (0/9)
Mass - XXXXXXXXX (9/9)
Handling - XXOOOOOOO (2/9)
Durability - XXXXXXXXX (9/9)
TO UNLOCK: Win the first six Checkpoint races in Washington DC.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
Find a red M symbol to lower right section of page 23. South of that symbol
should be two small parks. Go to the park closest to the South – it should be
the park with four very small grassy areas. Right in the middle of that park is
the simple-to-get paint job.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
South of the Reflecting Pool (page 24) is a large grassy area – this is a
soccer field. In the centre of the soccer field is the paint job, and somewhere
on the field is a giant soccer ball too, which you can use to score goals
(although the game doesn't keep track of your score >_>).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Chevrolet Corvette Z06
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXXXXO (8/9)
Acceleration – XXXXXXXXO (8/9)
Mass - XXXOOOOOO (3/9)
Handling - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
Durability - XXXOOOOOO (3/9)
TO UNLOCK: Win the tenth Checkpoint race in Washington DC.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
Find "Avenue De La Bourdonnais" on page 22, east of the Eiffel Tower. South of
that road should be an area with four orange buildings. On the rooftop of one
of those buildings is the paint job; start your run South of the Eiffel Tower
and make your way through the park where you'll find a ramp. Use this to get on
top of one of the buildings, where there is another ramp. Make that last jump,
and hopefully you'll get the paint job.
PAINT JOB # (Washington DC)
Above the centre of page 25 is an area full of orange buildings – Chinatown.
South of Chinatown is an orange building with a grey square in front of it.
From where that grey square is, face North and travel West 1 block, and North 2
blocks. To your left should be a small alleyway with two large dark-yellow
bins. At the end of that alleyway is the ramp you should use to get on top of
one of the Chinatown buildings, where the paint job is.

Handling - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
Durability - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
TO UNLOCK: Complete the first three Blitz races in Washington DC.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
A little below the centre of page 23 is a little park with green and orange
areas, south-east of the "Palais Royal" building. On the eastern side of this
park there is a wall you can drive on. Above the wall is the paint job; use the
stairs at the end of the wall to reach it.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Find Georgetown University at the upper left section of page 24. Keep on
driving east from the unnamed street one block North of M St. N.W. (which is
south-east of Georgetown University). At the end of the unnamed street is a
mound of dirt, and the paint job hanging in mid-air. Start travelling from the
street going North, gather speed, and hit the mound of dirt to grab the paint
job. It may take a few tries, so try jumping off the dirt at different angles.
PAINT JOB #3 (Washington DC)
Like the last paint job, this one is located south-east of Georgetown
University. It is next to a river that flows between M St. N.W. and the
Whitehurst Freeway. Find the landing along this river where the Whitehurst
Freeway turns Northward. You'll know you're near the paint job when you come
across some ramps that will lead you to the paint job.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Chrysler Crossfire
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
Acceleration – XXXXXXXOO (7/9)

TO UNLOCK: Win the tenth Blitz race in Washington DC.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
The left side of page 23 shows you Place De La Concorde, and south from there
on the northern side of the La Seine is the paint job floating in the air.
Start driving from the West, and drop down to the La Seine walkway. Drive to
the east, and hit the walkway stairs leading to the paint job.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Locate the words "National Mall" on page 25. South of the National Mall is a
small building shaped like a circle, and east of that building is another
orange building (very) roughly shaped like a rectangle. Make your way onto the
western side of this building where you should find a ramp. Gather enough speed
to jump off this ramp to reach the paint job in the air.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Chrysler PT Turbo
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
Acceleration – XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
Mass - XXXOOOOOO (3/9)
Handling - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
Durability - XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
TO UNLOCK: Complete the Washington Rental Car job in Work Undercover mode.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
Drive over to the southern side of the La Seine walkway, Northwest of the
Eiffel Tower (lower section of page 22). There you will find a ramp leading to
the paint job that is right next to a bridge; it shouldn't be that hard to get.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
South of Chinatown (centre of page 25) is a construction site that is shown as
a remote orange building on the map. Find the wooden ramp at the construction
site, and jump off it with enough speed to receive the paint job hanging in
mid-air.

PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
Look for the Eiffel Tower on page 22. The paint job is next to one of its
supports.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
On page 25 there is a place called "National Mall", and North from there is a
building roughly shaped like cross. Drive to the South side of this building,
to the left. The paint job should be over there, hidden behind a couple of
walls.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: FLE
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXOOOOOO (3/9)

area with a line of green on its eastern side – this is an outdoor dining area.
Look for the paint job there.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Find your way onto the southern side of the U.S Capitol Building on page 25,
where there is a wooden ramp. Use it to reach the paint job that is floating in
mid-air.

Mass - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
Handling - XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
Durability - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
TO UNLOCK: Complete the Washington DC Stunt Car Driver job in Work Undercover
Mode.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
Notice that on the mini map (and on page 22) there is a white line on the La
Seine, south-west of the Eiffel Tower. Head over to that white line, and find a
ramp at either end. Once you've found it, drive to the other end and gain speed
so that you can hit the ramp and reach the paint job in mid-air.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Between the U.S. Capitol Building and Independence Avenue (on the lower section
of page 25), there is a loop-de-loop. At the end of the loop-de-loop is the
paint job; gain speed to get onto the loop and once you're on it, position your
car in a way that will allow you to grab the paint job.
PAINT JOB #3 (Washington DC)
The centre of page 24 shows a building that looks like a backwards "C". South
of that building is a rectangular-shaped building. Find your way onto the
northern side where there is a ramp; hit it with enough speed to receive the
paint job up in the air.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Freightliner Century Class S/T

PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
On the upper part of page 23, find a blue medical symbol next to Boulevard Des
Batignolles. Now, to the east of the medical symbol is a green square-shaped
area with a red metro symbol on one of its corners. In-between the medical
symbol and the green area is an unnamed road that runs northbound/southbound,
and at the northern end of this road is the paint job.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
South of Chinatown (on page 25) is construction site, shown as a remote orange
building on the map. From where the construction site is, face North to
Chinatown and drive West one block and North 2 blocks. You should be in (or
near) an alleyway with lots of boxes, bicycles, chairs and tables. You can find
the paint job in the alleyway.

north-western end of the narrow road, where the paint job is. Look for a blue
car rental place.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Look for a remote orange building 2 blocks south from Chinatown on page 25. One
block east from the orange building is a police station (shown as a blue symbol
on the mini-map – it isn't shown in the game's manual). Drive up the ramp
located at the police station where the paint job is.

TO UNLOCK: Complete everything to unlock this car.
PAINT JOB #1 (Paris)
There is a remote rectangular orange building which runs along "Quai Anatole
France" on the southern side of the La Seine (page 23), and one block east from
that orange rectangular building is a street with the hard-to-reach paint job
in the air. What you need to do is drive to the other side of the La Seine to
the street where the Musee Du Louvre is, gather enough speed to hit the ramp
there and cross over to the northern side of the La Seine, and claim that paint
job in the air. It's not simple.
PAINT JOB #1 (Washington DC)
Find Dupont Circle at the upper right section of page 24. Hanging above one of
the northern buildings near Dupont Circle is the paint job; but first, find the
ramp leading to the rooftop of a building. Once you've done so, you can choose
one of three choices:
1 – Hit the first ramp and head straight towards the paint job (with a lot
of speed)
2 – Hit the first ramp, then the second, and then the third to get the
paint job
3 – Hit the first ramp and go straight towards the third ramp to get the
paint job.
I recommend taking choices one or three.

South-east of the Notre Dame (lower right section of page 23) is a small white

4 sides >_>), and the other like a dot. Drive to where the small orange dot is,
where the paint job is hidden.

PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
West of the U.S. Capitol Building on page 25 is the National Mall. On the
middle of this long area of grass are two ramps; and high above the grass is
the lonesome paint job. Start your drive at the Washington Monument, build up
speed as you head towards the National Mall (remember to stay on the cement, as
the grass slows you down a lot!), hit the western ramp, and nick that paint job
in mid-air.

North-west of the Eiffel Tower on page 22 is a street that has the paint job
floating in the air, just north of Avenue Du President Kennedy but south of
Avenue Paul Doumer. Hit the mound of dirt provided to launch yourself to the
paint job in mid-air (with some speed, of course) and descend down to earth. If
you don't get it the first time around (or any time for that matter), drive up
the set of stairs on the side of the street to find the mound of dirt again.
PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
Wow, this paint job is evil. It is located above a freeway that runs
north/south, west of 23rd street on page 24. First, drive just east from the
intersection of Virginia Avenue and 23rd street. There should be a place there
which looks like an outdoor dining area, full of chairs and tables. At the
western end of this place is a ramp, and beyond the ramp is the paint job
hovering above some trees.
Now you know where this paint job is, start your drive at either Washington
Circle or Lincoln Memorial. If you start at Washington Circle, drive south
until you come close to the dining area, where you will turn right. There's a
high chance you will hit the cement wall or the building, but hopefully you
won't lose most of your speed if you do so. From there, hit the ramp where you
can have the chance to grab the paint job in the air. The same thing goes if
you start at Lincoln Memorial, except you will be travelling north and turning
left when you get closer to the dining area.

rooftop. You will be able to see the paint job easily from anywhere on the
rooftop, so it isn't a problem to find it.

Find Louisiana Avenue, Constitution Avenue, and 1st Street south-west of Union

just above the ground. Start at Constitution Avenue, gaining speed as you
approach the ramp. Hopefully when you land you would have received the paint
job.

PAINT JOB #2 (Washington DC)
In the centre of Dupont Circle (right side of page 24) is a fountain, and on
top of the fountain is the paint job. The only way to get it is to use the

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.2) SECRET VEHICLES [C-SEC]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two secret vehicles in Midtown Madness 3: the ASP and the Serpent
MK2. To unlock these cars, you'll have to collect their paint cans labelled as
'?????', one in each of the cities; these paint cans have been cleverly placed
in two obscure locations, but with the right car and some skill, you'll
retrieve these two secret cars in no time.
Please note that though it is recommended, you do not necessarily need the
Koenigsegg CC to get the cans - the Ford 1967 Mustang 2+2 Fastback can still
get the job done.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: ASP
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXXXOO (7/9)
Acceleration – XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
Mass - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
Handling - XXXXXOOOO (5/9)
Durability - XXXOOOOOO (3/9)
LOCATION: Paris
The paint can for the ASP is located high above the Quai Des Tuileries street
along the river Seine; to get there, you'll have to back up all the way from
the Musee Du Louvre (even more if you feel like your car won't be able to
handle it). From there, hit the trigger and drive towards the Quai Des
Tuileries, all the while staying on the left-hand sidewalk. Eventually you'll
hit the ramp on the sidewalk, sending your car into the air and – hopefully –
catching the paint can in the process.
To make your job easier, push any obstacles on the sidewalk (street signs and
the like) out of the way so your car won't slow down or suffer any damage.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VEHICLE: Serpent MK2
STATISTICS: Top Speed - XXXXXXXXO (8/9)
Acceleration – XXXXXXXOO (7/9)
Mass - XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
Handling - XXXXXXOOO (6/9)
Durability - XXXXOOOOO (4/9)
LOCATION: Washington DC
The can for the Serpent MK2 is located near the intersection of 'M ST. N.W.'
and the 'Whitehurst Freeway', on the road along the Georgetown University
(remember that this can be easily found towards the west side of your map of
Washington DC). From the Washington Circle, drive at full speed along the
Whitehurst Freeway. The road will eventually curve to the right – stay on it at
full speed – and onto a hill; if you had enough speed and hit the hill at the
right angle, it should have sent your car into the air and into the mysterious
paint can, high above the ground.
The difficult part of this is maintaining your speed through the curve on the
road and hitting the right spot of the hill; practice is needed here, so don't
get annoyed if you miss it the first few times.

5) WORK UNDERCOVER WALKTHROUGH [W-WOR]
===============================================================================
Work Undercover is the "main" mode in Midtown Madness 3. Once you start this
mode you will be given a job; complete the races in that job, and you will
proceed to the next job. From a Delivery Guy to a Special Agent in Paris or a
Pizza Deliverer to a Private Eye in Washington DC, Work Undercover mode will
have you driving like mad.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.1) PARIS [W-PAR]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STORY: Famous race car driver Dieter Kleinmann is going to visit Paris to
receive his award for his Lifetime Achievements. Kleinmann isn't the only one
travelling to Paris; three Scandinavians named Olle, Inga and Sven are planning
to do something to Kleinmann's award - that isn't the only thing they will do.
Your job while working undercover is to protect Dieter Kleinmann and his award
from harm.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
DELIVERY GUY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Delivery Guy (1/7)
CAR: FLE
RACES: Delivery by Dawn, Marauders, Sven's Parcel, The Kleinmann Issue (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Delivery by Dawn
Time Limit: [none]
Your job here is to race against Mathilda through your morning route,
delivering parcels. There are 5 parcels to deliver; drive through a green
circle to pick up a parcel and drive through another green circle to deliver
it. The race is pretty straightforward; mostly straight roads that you should
have no trouble driving through. Be the first to deliver all of your parcels to
proceed to the next race.
Race Two: Marauders
Time Limit: [none]
There are more parcels to deliver; but this time it's a little harder because
there are 3 more deliverers racing against you (not including Mathilda) and
there are 11 parcels to deliver. It's still a race though; deliver all of your
parcels first before the others.
Race Three: Sven's Parcel
Time Limit: [none]
Sven, a Scandinavian race fan, has forgotten a parcel he owns at the bus
station. Your job is to drive through the green circle at the bus station to
pick up his parcel, and deliver it to him at his hotel. Unfortunately, this
parcel is very fragile; you have to preserve it so that it doesn't get broken
amongst all the traffic. Even more unfortunate is that Mathilda is angry
because she didn't get this job; so once you pick up the parcel, she will come
raging at you driving a huge truck, trying to break that parcel. Try to avoid
her at all costs, and you should be able to make it to the hotel where Sven is
without much trouble. Outside of the hotel is a red rectangle; stop your car
within the rectangle to deliver the parcel.
Race Four: The Kleinmann Issue
Time Limit: [none]
Dieter Kleinmann is going to visit Paris – big news that's covered the
headlines and news. Deliver all 20 newspapers containing information about his
visit by driving through the green circles scattered throughout the city before
Mathilda to win the race.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
TAXI DRIVER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Taxi Driver (2/7)
CAR: Paris Taxi
RACES: Taxi Turns, Night Driver, Meatballs, Down Under (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Taxi Turns
Time Limit: [not fixed]
This is your day shift; you have to pick up and drop off 5 passengers by
stopping within the red rectangles before the time runs out. Time is added for
each passenger you pick up/drop off, so you shouldn't really have a problem
with the time.
Race Two: Night Driver
Time Limit: [none]
Mathilda and a few of her friends have set up another race, but this time at
night (remember to keep your headlights on!). Be the first to drive through all
10 checkpoints (in any order) to win the race.
Race Three: Meatballs
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Two Scandinavian race fans named Olle and Inga have come to Paris to watch
Dieter Kleinmann receive his reward. Your job is to pick them up, then drop
them off at their hotel by stopping within the red rectangles. Time is added
for each time you pick them up.
Race Four: Down Under
Time Limit: [not fixed]
One of your biggest competitors in the taxi business has 5 customers waiting to
be picked up and dropped off at their destinations. Get all 5 customers and
drop them off, but watch out; Mathilda will be speeding towards you because
she's working for the other business.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
CHAUFFEUR
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Chauffeur (3/7)
CAR: Limousine
RACES: In Hot Pursuit, Graduation Day, Kleinmann's Arrival, Driving Mrs.
VeryWealthy (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: In Hot Pursuit
Time Limit: 1:04
Remember Sven from earlier on? Well this time, he wants you to drop him off at
the bus station. But apparently, Sven is a fugitive. The police are on the
chase to get him, so your job is to get him to the bus station without any
confrontations with the police (there are 4 of them). The police will push you
around, delaying Sven's departure off the limo – so really you're racing
against the police and the limited time.
Race Two: Graduation Day
Time Limit: [none]
Two graduates have just hired a limo from us; they want to be dropped off at a
restaurant. Mathilda's joining in this race too; she also has 2 graduates that
want to be taken to the restaurant. Make sure you get your customers to the
restaurant first!
Race Three: Kleinmann's Arrival
Time Limit: Pick up Dieter Kleinmann – 2:10
Drop him off – [not fixed]
Dieter Kleinmann is finally in Paris! Drive all the way to the other side of
Paris to pick him up at the bus station, then drive him to the Palais Royal
before the time runs out - otherwise he will be very angry!
Race Four: Driving Mrs. VeryWealthy
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Mrs VeryWealthy (nice name, huh?) has a few errands to do in Paris. Drive her
to wherever she wants to go to before the time runs out; you'll soon see that
she's very impatient and likes to tell you what to do – all the time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
SECURITY GUARD
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Security Guard (4/7)
CAR: Armoured Car
RACES: Go for the Gold, Sven's Demise, Kleinmann's Award,
Mrs. VeryWealthy's Jewels (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Go for the Gold
Time Limit: [none]
Your job here is to pick up all 13 of the sacks of money outside the banks of
Paris and take them to the main vault for safekeeping. Mathilda's on the case
too; race with her to get all of the sacks and drive to the main vault first.
You can pick up the sacks in any order, but you MUST finish at the main vault.
Race Two: Sven's Demise
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Sven the fugitive has been caught, and the police will deport him to
Scandinavian authorities. Pick him up at the police station and drop him off at
his next stop, but be careful because his friends Olle and Inga are after you.
They will push your car around, so avoid them or you could run out of time!
Race Three: Kleinmann's Award
Time Limit: [none]
Apparently, a delivery guy delivered a fake copy of Kleinmann's award to Sven
(*cough*you*cough*), and we suspect that the Scandinavians are going to try to
switch the real award with the fake one. Your objective is to take the real
award to safety before the award ceremony. Beware of Olle and Inga.
Race Four: Mrs. VeryWealthy's Jewels
Time Limit: 4:10
Being rich, Mrs. VeryWealthy has ordered some jewellery from all around Paris
and wants you to pick them up for her. Once you've done so, drive back to her.
You can pick up the jewels in any order, but finish at her house before the
time runs out.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
PARAMEDIC
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Paramedic (5/7)
CAR: Ambulance
RACES: Emergency Patrol, The Body Guard, Downtown Collapse, Saving Mrs.
VeryWealthy (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Emergency Patrol
Time Limit: [not fixed]
There are 5 patients that are needed to be transported in your Ambulance, all
around Paris. For each patient that you pick up, you have to take them back to
the Paris hospital. Pick up and drop off all of the 5 patients to end your
shift.
Race Two: The Body Guard
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Olle and Inga have kidnapped Kleinmann, and left his bodyguard pleading for
medical attention. You have to pick up the bodyguard at the scene of the
kidnapping and drop him off at the hospital before time runs out. The scene of
the kidnapping has a few police officers; don't worry, they won't chase you.
Race Three: Downtown Collapse
Time Limit: [not fixed]
An ambulance has crashed just before the driver was going to pick up a patient.
Drive over to the crash site where the patient is, and drive her back to the
hospital so that the patient can rest. Time is very limited in this race, so
act fast.
Race Four: Saving Mrs. VeryWealthy
Time Limit: 1:33
Mrs. VeryWealthy has just called the hospital; she's just broken a finger. Take
her to the hospital before the time runs out, otherwise she will sue all of
Paris (does she *really* have the power to do that?).

Time Limit: [not fixed]
Some bad guys have been contaminating the city with their filth! The locations
of 5 arrested criminals will be sent to you over radio; drive to a criminal and
transport them back to the police station. Drive to all 5 arrested criminals
and bring them back to the police station to end your shift. Fail to do so
within the time limit, and those guys will probably never change.
Race Two: Inga's Escape
Time Limit: 3:55
Remember Inga, one of the Scandinavians? Well, the police have spotted her on
the run, and it's your job to make her stop. Head over to her location, where
she will attempt to escape once you get near her. Above her black van is a
small rectangle; this is her van's damage meter. Chase her around Paris and
smash her car until it's a wreck before the time limit – she might have some
information on Kleinmann's whereabouts.
Race Three: Roadblocks
Time Limit: [not fixed]
The police are setting up Roadblocks all over Paris to stop the kidnappers from
leaving. They need reinforcements, so you have to transport the police inside
your car to the roadblocks. Transport the police to all 15 roadblocks within
the time limit – even though it's *very* limited.
Race Four: The Guys from Lyon
Time Limit: [none]
Some guys from Lyon say that they're better drivers than you, but you disagree.
A race has been set up from one side of Paris to another; drive through all 23
of the checkpoints before the others to show them how REAL driving is done!

SPECIAL AGENT
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Special Agent (7/7)
CAR: Audi TT
RACES: Scandinavian Shadow, The Traitors, Desperate Hours (3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Scandinavian Shadow
Time Limit: [none]
Using his cellphone, we've tracked Olle's location. As a special agent, your
job is to follow him around Paris because he might show his hideout, where
Dieter Kleinmann might be. Don't go too close to Olle or he will see you; but
don't lose sight of him either.
Race Two: The Traitors
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Okay, I didn't really get the idea of this race, so I'll just quote it from the
game itself:
"Searching the hideout that Olle led us to didn't reveal Kleinmann's
whereabouts, but we've made a deal with the grunts. They will testify against
Olle, Inga and Sven if given immunity. Pick them up."
Race Three: Desperate Hours
Time Limit: 2:30
Sven and Inga have been dealt with for the kidnapping, but Olle is still on the
run with Dieter Kleinmann in the trunk of his van. Before the time runs out,
smash his car into oblivion to save Kleinmann and put Olle behind bars.

5.2) WASHINGTON DC [W-WAS]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PIZZA DELIVERER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Pizza Deliverer (1/7)
CAR: Cadillac 1959 Eldorado Seville
RACES: Standard Delivery, Angie's Mess, Sleazy Cheese, The Annual Pizza
Race (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Standard Delivery
Time Limit: [none]
Some customers around DC have ordered a batch of pizzas waiting to be
delivered. Just deliver all of the 14 pizzas before Angelina (you can do so in
any order you like), or your pizza career will be doomed.
Race Two: Angie's Mess
Time Limit: 3:00
Starting from the western side of DC and finishing on the other side - a
delivery that you will have to make with caution. Angelina has just messed up a
pizza to the delivery Tortellini brothers, so it's your job to finish the
delivery. The pizza is fragile, so try not to hit anything or it'll get
smashed. To add more of a challenge, Angelina is raged that she messed up the
delivery and wants you to mess it up too; keep the pizza safely without hitting
anything and deliver it to the Tortellini brothers while avoiding Angelina!
Race Three: Sleazy Cheese
Time Limit: 1:45
A Very Important Customer has ordered a specially made pizza; drive the pizza
to the customer before the time runs out. The customer is near Dupont Circle -
try not to get lost there or you could lose a whole heap of needed time (as
with happened to me when I first did this race >_>).
Race Four: The Annual Pizza Race
Time Limit: [none]
The Annual Pizza Race is back for this year, and you're competing in it to
represent your firm. Race around Washington DC while driving through the green
circles to deliver your pizzas before your opponents (you can deliver the
pizzas in any order). Beat the other drivers by being the first one to deliver
your final pizza to the Mr. President!

RENTAL CAR DRIVER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Rental Car Driver (2/7)
CARS: Opel Astra, Chevrolet SSR, Chrysler Crossfire, Chrysler PT Turbo
RACES: Rental Routers, Mr. Pickie's Car, The Weekend Car, Rental Racers
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Rental Routers
Time Limit: [none]
Your company's got some rental cars that need to be circulated around the city
- and of course, Angelina has become employed in this job too. Race with her
around Washington DC and stop in the red rectangles to switch your current car
with a different one; first you start the race with an Opel Astra, then
stopping in the first red rectangle will give you a Chrysler PT Turbo. When you
stop in the second red rectangle, you will be given a Renault 1985 R5. Finish
the race with the Renault by driving through the green circle near Washington
Circle, and get that big bonus that Angelina really wanted.
Race Two: Mr. Pickie's Car
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Mr. Pickie, the screenwriter for the movie "The Quick and the Slippery", has
crashed one of your rental cars. Drive him to the crash site with your new
rental car, and switch cars; you drive the crashed car and Mr. Pickie will
drive the new car. Once you've switched cars, drive back to the rental car shop
(supposedly to get the crashed car fixed).
Race Three: The Weekend Car
Time Limit: [none]
Michael Tortellini and his colleague have hired a car from your rental car shop
to take over the weekend. Take Michael's rented car to him near Dupont Circle
before Angelina; just another standard race. Make sure to cut through the grass
at Dupont Circle to save a few seconds.
Race Four: Rental Racers
Time Limit: [none]
A bunch of rental cars need to be delivered; race with the other drivers that
work with you to your destination in Georgetown. You can use the suggested
route in this race, or you can take this alternate route that is probably the
best out of any others (at least, the best route I could think of >_>):
From your starting position, drive north to Massachusetts Avenue. Keep on
driving west until you meet up with 14th street, where you should turn north.
Keep on driving west to the green circle from there. See the game's manual on
page 25 for a map of Washington DC.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
LIMOUSINE DRIVER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Limousine Driver (3/7)
CAR: Limousine
RACES: The Older Brother, The Bestman, The Younger Brother,
Pickie and Fluffy (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: The Older Brother
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Michael Tortellini wants a ride to the train station, but first wants you to
pick up a friend just north-east of Dupont Circle. Starting from Georgetown,
drive north to Massachusetts Avenue (which connects to Dupont Circle) and pick
up Tortellini's friend by stopping within the red rectangle.
Once his friend is in the limo, race over to Union Station. If you were still
looking at the time, you should have noticed that you have just over 2 minutes.
After a few seconds of driving, Michael Tortellini will suddenly exclaim that
he stuffed up; the train will leave in under a minute, which is then your time
limit! Drive like hell to Union Station before the train leaves or you'll get
fired.
Race Two: The Bestman
Time Limit: [none]
A happy couple are about to get married, and they're being taken to their
wedding in a limo driven by Angelina. The Bestman, who has the ring, is already
late for the wedding; drive him to the church before Angelina or else the
wedding is off.
Race Three: The Younger Brother
Time Limit: [none]
For some mysterious reason, Stefano Tortellini wants you to follow his older
brother around Washington DC, Michael Tortellini. Do so, but don't get too
close to him or he'll see you and blow your cover - and don't lose sight of him
either. Michael will drive around Georgetown, Washington Circle, and will stop
near Dupont Circle where this race should also finish.
Race Four: Pickie and Fluffy
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Mr. Pickie and his evil poodle Fluffy are going to attend 4 dog shows today.
Drive them to each dog show by stopping in the red rectangles within the time
limit, or else Fluffy will have a go at your throat. Once you're done driving
them to the dog shows, head over back to Mr. Pickie's house at good old
Georgetown.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
CAR SALESMAN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Car Salesman (4/7)
CARS: Hummer H2 SUV, Dodge Viper SRT-10, Chevrolet Corvette Z06,
Cadillac 1959 Eldorado Seville
RACES: Sell That Car!, Michael's Scouting, Diva Manners, Mr. Pickie's Trade
(4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Sell That Car!
Time Limit: [none]
A bunch of vehicles need to be sold today, and you've been chosen to be the one
to sell them. Take three customers for a spin around the block (which is
DEFINITELY not a block!) and back to the car shop before Angelina, then your
quota shall be filled. Doesn't Angelina know when to stop?
Race Two: Michael's Scouting
Time Limit: [none]
Michael Tortellini is searching for a hot sports car that is going to be used
in his movie, so you're going to do so. Using the super-speedy Dodge Viper SRT-
10, you'll have to follow Michael's every whim in order to make this sale
happen. He'll ask you to drive really fast, crash into stuff (not a problem,
but watch your damage meter!), find a few ramps to take off from the ground,
and to grab a pizza. The final thing he'll ask you to do is to race with
Angelina back to the car shop - Angelina's driving the same car as you, so
she'll be going at a very high speed. Once you've got you're car up to speed,
it shouldn't be much of a problem to win.
Race Three: Diva Manners
Time Limit: [none]
One of the hottest movie stars in "The Quick and the Slippery" is looking for a
sports car, just like Michael Tortellini. First he'll tell you to drive really
fast, and that it won't matter if you do so because he's a movie star and that
the cops won't chase you. He's wrong. After a short while, a few cops will
appear out of nowhere on your mini-map. If you drive away from them, then more
cops will appear. Once one of the cops touches your car, you lose - so avoid
them at all costs!
Race Four: Mr. Pickie's Trade
Time Limit: 1:55
Mr. Pickie wants to trade in his old car to buy a new one. Take it for a test
drive, but don't crash into anything! Mr. Pickie's car is unbelievably fragile,
and a simple act of smashing into a pole going at around 20 km/h will give you
2 damage points. Also, watch out for the time limit.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
STUNT CAR DRIVER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Stunt Car Driver (5/7)
CAR: Ford 1967 Mustang 2+2 Fastback
RACES: The Quick, The Slippery, The Chase, Production Cuts (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: The Quick
Time Limit: [none]
Finally, this is the job where you get parts in the movie "The Quick and the
Slippery"! Anyway, the director's (at least I think it's the director) set up a
mean stunt course, where you get to jump off ramps and smash your car and the
like. You start this race on the U.S. Capitol Building; drive forward to build
up speed, then hit the "stunt" checkpoint and the wooden ramp to launch
yourself onto the building on the other side of the road. From there, just keep
on following the stunt checkpoints. After you've driven through the last
checkpoint, Angelina will appear out of nowhere. Race with her through 8 more
checkpoints to finish the scene, then listen to what Angelina says to the
director with some... carefully chosen words.
Race Two: The Slippery
Time Limit: [none]
There's a scene in the movie where the heroes are being chased by the cops. The
director doesn't know whom to use as the stunt driver for this scene, so you're
going to prove to him that you're the one to be chosen by racing with Angelina
through all 22 checkpoints. Try to stay away from the police as much as
possible, as they can slow you down. Be the first to drive through all 22
checkpoints to get the director's approval! And, like last time, listen to what
Angelina says to the director.
Race Three: The Chase
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Because Angelina's driving a getaway car, you're going to have to persuade her
to stop by chasing her through good old Georgetown, and smashing her car until
it's a wreck. A good way to make her stop is to get in front of her car, then
pushing her backwards to damage her car. Try to damage her car as quickly as
possible, because even though the clock counts upwards, there *is* a time limit
that is somewhere around 2 minutes (as I said above). And for the third time,
listen to Angelina!
Race Four: Production Cuts
Time Limit: [none]
For some reason, the director needs to fire a bunch of the crew, but he doesn't
know exactly who to fire. Race with other drivers and be the first to drive
through all of the 25 checkpoints, and you'll be guaranteed that you won't get
fired. Random tip: when using this car, remember not to turn too sharply or
there's a good chance that your car will roll over.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
POLICE OFFICER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Police Officer (6/7)
CAR: Washington Police
RACES: The Bad Guys, Stefano's Madness, Prank Calls, Brat Pack (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: The Bad Guys
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Four criminals have been arrested for a crime (one for hacking, one for
photographing classified blueprints, one for setting up a scam and one for
being a "mad scientist") and your job is to pick them up and drive each of them
back to the Police Station. Each criminal is farther away from the Police
Station than the last, which means the fourth criminal is the farthest - in
fact, just east of the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway. You're going to have to
drive faster and faster until you've finished your duty for the day.
Race Two: Stefano's Madness
Time Limit: 3:45
When you first start this race, Stefano Tortellini and his brother will remain
stationary on the mini-map, just north of Constitution Avenue. Once you get
near them they will start moving, and Stefano will go raging mad after his
brother, chasing him all over the place. Damage Stefano's limousine before the
time runs out - or before his brother Michael gets hurt. Just another show of
brotherly love.
Race Three: Prank Calls
Time Limit: [not fixed]
Michael Tortellini has reported to the police that he's recently been receiving
some prank calls, and he's getting annoyed! The police back at the station will
try to trace the call, so you're job is to follow the last said location of the
source. Drive through the green circles to proceed to the next location. At
first the signal will be weak so the green circles will be close to you, but
they will get further and further away. After the third green circle, you'll
find that the prank caller is none other than Michael's brother... Stefano.
Race Three: Brat Pack
Time Limit: 2:00
Four movie stars from The Quick and the Slippery have stolen a car each from
the movie, and are taking them for a little joyride around the city. As a
police officer, your job is to arrest these movie stars so that they can be
taken to jail. To arrest a movie star, hit their car. Work fast though; the
time isn't waiting.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
PRIVATE EYE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOB: Private Eye (7/7)
CAR: Dodge Viper SRT-10
RACES: Photo Opportunity, Uniting the Two, The Hot Shot Getaway (3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race One: Photo Opportunity
Time Limit: 0:50
It seems that Michael Tortellini is dealing with the Hot Shot Producer; but
you're not sure. Head over to Dupont Circle where they're both meeting, so you
can get some evidence that both of them _are_ having some kind of deal. Keep
your eye on the time; it's VERY limited! I suggest driving onto Massachusetts
Avenue as quickly as you can from the beginning of the race, then making your
way towards Dupont Circle.
Race Two: Uniting the Two
Time Limit: 1:10
From the last race, you've found out that both Michael and Stefano Tortellini
are dealing with the Hot Shot Producer! Your job here is to work undercover as
the Hot Shot Producer's driver; pick him up (the Hot Shot Producer) just a
little to the west of Chinatown. Time is also very limited in this race too -
only 1 minute and 10 seconds!
Race Three: The Hot Shot Getaway
Time Limit: 4:00
The Hot Shot Producer has been exposed, and he's trying to get away with the
film! Smash his car until it's a wreck so that the film can be kept. This race
is harder that past versions, mainly because you're dealing with speeds of over
200 km/h, and that your car is more vulnerable to damage. You can take it,
can't you?
