1.                            INTRODUCTION
=========================================================================

Welcome to my FAQ/Walkthru for the XBox game Blood Wake. Blood Wake is
a fun game with some flaws. The single player mode is long and can get
pretty challenging, but it can also get repetetive, the multiplayer is
okay, but pretty limited and there's better multiplayer games to play on
the XBox. So it's basically an average game all around, but if you're
looking for a fun, cheap title then give Blood Wake a rental or buy it
on the cheap.

This guide will help you get through the Story Mode of the game,
there's also some item and weapon desciptions and the like, but the main
goal of this guide is the Story Mode.

Enjoy!

2.                              CONTROLS
=========================================================================

There are three different control setups you can use for the game, and
you can choose if you want the rumble feature on or off for each one:

---
A  (default)
---

LEFT STICK/DPAD  Rudder/Throttle
RIGHT STICK      Camera
A BUTTON         Select Weapon
B BUTTON         Radar Zoom
X BUTTON         Turbo
Y BUTTON         Menu Selection
WHITE BUTTON     Change Camera View
BLACK BUTTON     Toggle HUD On/Off
L TRIGGER        Fire Primary Weapon
R TRIGGER        Fire Secondary Weapon

---
B
---

LEFT STICK/DPAD   Rudder
RIGHT STICK       Camera
A BUTTON          Fire Secondary Weapon
B BUTTON          Weapon Select
X BUTTON          Turbo
Y BUTTON          Radar Zoom
WHITE BUTTON      Change Camera View
BLACK BUTTON      Toggle HUD On/Off
L TRIGGER         Fire Primary Weapon
R TRIGGER         Throttle

LEFT STICK        Rudder
DPAD              Throttle/Rudder
RIGHT STICK       Camera
A BUTTON          Fire Secondary Weapon
B BUTTON          Select Weapon
X BUTTON          Turbo
Y BUTTON          Radar Zoom
WHITE BUTTON      Change Camera View
BLACK BUTTON      Toggle HUD On/Off
L TRIGGER         Throttle
R TRIGGER         Fire Primary Weapon

Choose the control scheme you feel most comfortable with, I just use A
since it was the default. I started playing using A and just got used to
it, but it might be a little easier to use B or C so you can control the
throttle with a Trigger instead of the Left Stick.

=========================================================================
3.                        STORY MODE WALKTHRU
=========================================================================

In creating this Walkthru I played each mission three times, starting
with Ensign level, then Captain, then Admiral. The only real difference
between the difficulty levels is the amount of damage it takes to take
out an enemy(the higher, the more damage they can take) and also how
much damage they can do to you. The A.I. gets a bit sharper as you go
up levels, but the number of enemies doesn't go up.

Be sure to check your compass often and the map on the pause screen
to get your bearings. Your next checkpoint(meeting place, thing to
destroy, etc) is an orange circle on the compass, when you're out of
range a little orange arrow points you in the direction you need to go.
While I do give directions alot, there are times when the checkpoints
are so easy to find I'll just say "go to point 3" or something, if you
don't know what I'm talking about then just check the in-game map for
reference.

Here we go!

=========================
3A. ACT 1-BAPTISM OF FIRE
=========================

--------------------------
MISSION 1-Fish in a Barrel
--------------------------
Boat:    Speedboat Barracuda
Goal:    Destory 9 sampams
Unlocks: Speedboat Salamander

When the Mission first starts, follow the other boat as it leads you
to the bay where all the Sampams are docked. They're all docked around
the edge of the water, and assault boats stay around the middle of the
bay to attack you. Start from the left side and get up close to the
sampams to Chain Gun them until they blow up. Most of them have a fuel
tank on the ground by them you can shoot to blow up a couple at a time.

Use your compass to find any sampams you may miss, you need to take
out nine in total. There's not much to say about this mission really...

----------------------
MISSION 2-Payment Due!
----------------------
Boat:    Speedboat Salamander
Goal:    Get 4 Treasure Chests
Unlocks: Speedboat Pike

Follow the first two enemies to the NorthEast and shoot them down with
the CG's and Rockets, then shoot down a third and you'll be near the
first treasure chest. Take out the 3 boats guarding the chest then use
the ramp to grab it and head towards the second.

Take out the enemies that come at you on the way with the chaingun,
save your rockets when you can(but still use them for the larger
Sampans). Get the second chest and head East, stay inside the small
islands and fight a couple more enemy ships on the way. Get the third
chest and head towards the fourth, be sure to take out most of the
enemies on the way to keep your health and ammo up.

When you reach the opening to the small cove where the last chest is,
immediately start firing rockets and your Chain Guns at the large
sampan in front of the ramp to the chest, ignore the one on the other
side. Just keep blasting and head right towards it, it should sink
before you reach it and then you can just go up on the ramp and get
the fourth chest to end the level.

---------------------
MISSION 3-Knife Fight
---------------------
Boat:    Speedboat Pike
Goal:    Blow up Munitions Dumps
Unlocks: Nothing

Head towards the dumps, fight 3 boats on the way in. Then move to the
dumps and use the cannons to blow both of them up, 4 or 5 more enemy
ships will appear behind you, so finish them off concentrating on one
at a time and collecting the health and ammo each one drops when you
need to.

This Mission is basically one big dogfight, but it's mainly with
smaller boats that you can take down easily.

----------------------
MISSION 4-The Gauntlet
----------------------
Boat:    Speedboat Stripped
Goal:    Beat Gammal's Time
Unlocks: Kingom Come Battle Mode

This is a pretty easy stage, you just have to race around the level
and finish before the clock runs out. There's not much I can really
help you with here, just use your Turbo alot and take advantage of
all the spots you can jump over obstacles. And just run away from
the enemy boats that come at you, you can't do anything to them
anyway!

=========================
3B. ACT 2-A PIRATE'S LIFE
=========================

-----------------
MISSION 5-Rescue!
-----------------
Boat:    Catamaran Hellcat
Goal:    Sink enemy ships, escort junks to safety
Unlocks: Catamaran Hellcat

Speed up to the junks and take out the first wave of enemies
near them, once it's clear stay near the junks and watch for any
stray enemies taking potshots at them. Once you start heading for
the channel stay near where the junks turn in direction, this is
where most of the enemies will concentrate their fire. When you
get down to the last two enemy boats they'll be larger gunships,
use your torpedoes on them as they approach to take them down
quickly. Add in your Rockets and Chain Guns when they get closer.
Even though they're big, they should go down pretty quickly if
you're accurate with your torpedoes from afar and rockets up
close.

---------------------------
MISSION 6-Protection Racket
---------------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Hellcat
Goal:    Sink Basilisk and Iron Fleet, protect village
Unlocks: Catamaran Guncat (Ensign), Basilisk (Captain)

The Iron Fleet comes in 4 waves of 4 boats each, your torpedoes
will be key in taking out the boats before they get in range of
the village. You can wipe them out a couple of ways, either wait back
by the village and try to take them out one by one as they approach, or
go out to where they're coming from and go in a line, starting from the
far right boat and take them out as you go. The second method is easier
and quicker, but it occasionally lets a boat get close and wail on the
village if you take too long.

Once all 4 waves are wiped out the Basilisk will appear. For as big as
it is, it's easy to take down. It's more concerned with the village than
you. As it approaches, lay on the torpedo fire, then let it get by you.
Quickly turn and follow it laying it on with your Chain Guns and Rockets.
You should take it down just as it's reaching the village, if not then it
just fires at the village and not you so keep wailing away at it until it
falls.

---------------------------
MISSION 7-A Poke in the Eye
---------------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Guncat (Ensign)
Goal:    Clear enemies on route
Unlocks: Clanbake Battle Mode

Go North to the first patrol point, take out 3 ships on the way and 3
more when you get there. You'll be doing alot of up close fighting in
this stage since but you'll be able to handle it thanks to the Auto
Cannons and Cannons on the Guncat. Once you clear the first point head
West to the 2nd, you'll fight 3 ships on the way and 3 more there. Now
go West again to the 3rd point, there's 2 ships on the way and 3 at the
point. Go SouthWest to the 4th point, fight 3 ships on the way and 3
more there. The last two ships you face are huge Sampans, but use the
same up close tactics on them and they'll fall like the smaller boats,
it just takes a little longer.

-------------------
MISSION 8-Shakedown
-------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Guncat
Goal:    Destroy munitions freighters, escape
Unlocks: Nothing

This is probably the toughest of the early missions in the game. It's
gonna take some patience and alot of fighting(and you're supposed to
AVOID combat, hah!). First thing you want to do is take out a big swarm
of enemies to the NorthWest in the open waters. Go towards the small
island with two towers on it, take out the towers and a few smaller
Sampans will converge on you. Take them out and refill your health
and ammo and get ready for the big fight.

Head further to the West and you'll encounter a few Large Sampans
and a couple more smaller ones, this is going to be a tough fight
but trust me, you'd rather fight it now than later on when you'll
probably be low on health. Switch between your Rockets and Torpedoes
as you approach the large Sampans and fire as much as you can of
each weapon, when they break off concentrate on one larger ship until
it goes down(careful, they drop mines!). Then collect the heatlh and
ammo it drops and move onto the next big ship. Once all the big guys
are down, finish off the smaller ones and the towers. There should be
plenty of leftover health crates in this area, and you can always come
back and refill if you get low later on(if you don't mind some back-
tracking).

Now head EAST, back into the delta area. Weave your way through the
delta taking out as many towers and enemy ships as you can, taking them
out now saves you headaches later. Work your way North to the dock
entrance. When your shipmate tells you about the freighters, take out
the tower directly in front of you, then go to the right and shoot
down the two boats in this little canal space. Go through the canal and
you'll come out looking West at a castle-looking structure with some
turrets on it. Take out the two turrets you can see, and a couple more
smaller sampans.

Make sure you're at, or close to, full health and charge in to the
right of the castle, the freighters are docked at the very right. You
want to get behind the first one and wail away with everything you've
got, this way most of the shots from the turrets should hit the freighter
instead of you. When the first freighter goes down, collect all the
health from it you can without taking too long, then turn your attention
to the second one to the West. You can stay by the sinking first ship
to use it as cover while you shoot at the second with your Cannons and
Rockets and ACs. You want to take the second down before it gets close
enough to trigger a swarm of big sampans by the exit of the docks.
You'll be taking fire, but as long as huge swarms of missles aren't
coming at you, you're alright. Fire away at the second freighter
until it goes down, then Turbo out of the docks area the exact way
you came in. You need to go out the same way, since there's turrets
all over all the walls.

So go past the castle again, then through the delta which should be
cleared out for the most part, and head towards the escape point. Once
you get back into open water near the escape area, 2 small sampans will
show up, you should be able to take them down easily, or just Turbo by
them and head for the escape. Congratulations, you've beat one of the
most difficult missions in the game!

If anyone has an easier/better way to get through this mission, I'd
love to see it. Even using my methods it's possible it may take a few
tries to get through, especially on Admiral level.

--------------------
MISSION 9-Moving Day
--------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Hellcat
Goal:    Escort junks to Kerang Island, take out Eel Squadron
Unlocks: Nothing

After the last mission, this one doesn't seem so bad, it's a bit on
the long side but protecting the junks isn't too hard. You start with
six and only have to have three survive to pass, at most you should
lose 1, maybe 2, tops. The main thing you have to worry about is
hurting the junks with your own fire when you're trying to take out
an enemy. To be safe, don't fire too many torpedoes in the middle of
the convoy to try and get one enemy.

Right from the start boost ahead of the envoy and take out the first
three small sampans. Fall back into the middle of the envoy for a little
while until a couple more enemies pop up on the radar, then Turbo ahead
again. This time you face 4 larger sampans, torpedo and CG them as you
approach. After this wave, 2 more will appear in front of the envoy and
a single sampan comes up behind. Take out the 2 in front, then turbo back
and get the other one.

After this initial waves, a few more waves of 3 small sampans appear as
you make your way along to Kerang. Usually 1 appears ahead of you and two
more behind. Always go after the greater numbers, you might lose a junk
around this time. Finally, when you get close to Kerang 2 Eel Squadron
boats come at you. Thankfully they're more interested in you than the
convoy. They're not much different than a regular boat, so use your
torpedos and rockets from afar, and torpedoes and CG's up close to
take them down fairly easily. Often they'll collide into each other,
be sure to lay on the hurt when they're close to each other. Once the
2 Eel boats are down the Mission is over.

-----------------------------
MISSION 10-Ships in the Night
-----------------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Hellcat
Goal:    Rendezvous with Salleh, return to Kerang
Unlocks: Gunboat Gunshark (Ensign)

Head South towards Salleh and two groups of two mid Sampans will come
at you. The first two come from the SouthWest, so deal with them first,
and the second two are right near the entrance of the straight that
leads to Salleh. Take out the 2nd two and continue South into the
narrow straight, two small sampans appear around the first turn, then
another couple around the next. Another couple are near the meeting
point with Salleh. Take them all out, it's easy enough, and head
towards the ramp by the shore, wait for Salleh to give you your gift
then jump the ramp and collect the Talisman.

Now turn around and head back out of this area and back towards Kerang,
another couple sampans are waiting by the exit, they're disposed of
easily enough. Once you get out in the open waters you spot a big
strike force heading for you base. About 12 ships in total, it's big
but if you take it slow and in steps you'll take them all down with
little damage.

The first wave is just 4 smaller sampans, circle them and use your
torpedoes and CG then refill from all the crates they drop. Go
North towards the rest of the strike force, there's a big gunship
next, but take your time getting to it. When you get near the big
ship, a few more smaller ships will drop back and engage you. Let the
big ship get away from you so you don't take it's firepower, then deal
with the next few small ships. Again, refill everything then move on.

You should only have 3 big gunships left. You have to be careful
now, because if you take them all out before you get close to your base
the next event won't trigger and you won't be able to finish the level.
That's quality programming, folks! Anyway, Take out two of the three
gunships by wailing away on them with your Rockets and Torpedoes as
you approach, then use all 3 weapons when you're close. Collect all
the health and ammo they drop and leave the last gunship alive until
you reach your base. Your shipmate will tell you about another fleet
attacking from the North, if you destroy all the enemy ships in the 1st
strike force before you get this message, you won't be able to finish.

Once the 2nd fleet comes from the North, some friendly boats will help
you take them out. Finish of the gunship you let survive then help take
out the 5 or so ships in the 2nd attack force. It's pretty easy with all
the help you get. Once all the ships are down you're prompted to return
to base. Go East to the base and that's that!

End of Act 2.

======================
3C. ACT 3-STORM SEASON
======================

-------------------
MISSION 11-Blockade
-------------------
Boat:    Gunboat Gunshark
Goal:    Blockade port, sink Royal Junk
Unlocks: Nothing

You're playing defensive in this battle, and you have a powerful boat
to do it with. The only stipulation is you can't actually enter the
harbor. No biggee. Your friendly boats will lay a bunch of mines at
the entrance, you should zoom up and place a couple as well, then
get back aways from the entrance and wait for the first wave.

The first few boats are just some small sampans, easy enough. Cannon
and CG them. The next two waves are a little tougher, War Junks. Cannon
and Rocket them as they approach, then lay a mine in their path if they
get past you. These guys aren't too tough either, just be sure to refill
every chance you get.

Your buddy will announce there's "more enemy ships." This means a few
Eel boats and some gunships are coming out. Engage them close to the
entrance with help from your friends, Mines really hurt the Eel ships
and they like to pursue you. Or just Rocket and Cannon them, either way
they'll go down rather quick. Once the Eels are down, take care of the
big gunships. Refill and the Royal Junk will come out. Take in on near
the entrance in the minefield, and lay a couple right in it's path as
you make a pass in front of it. Turn around and lay on the punishment
with Rockets, Cannon, and CGs as well and it'll fall in no time, even
in Admiral level. The key to this level is keeping your health up
between the waves of enemies, do this and it's cake.

---------------------
MISSION 12-Steel Wind
---------------------
Boat:    Gunboat Gunshark
Goal:    Destory Harbor fortifications, sink enemies
Unlocks: Nothing

As you approach Nagau, three large gunships will come at you, turbo
ahead of your friends and aim for the middle ship. Unload with your
Rockets and Cannon, and CG when you get closer and it'll fall. Then
help take out the other two, a couple smaller ships will come join in
but they're easy to take out, they're followed by two more War Junks,
Rocket and Cannon them then refill everything and head closer to the
harbor. You have to take out all the boats or your friends will stay
behind and keep fighting them, leaving you as an easy target for all
the turrets upcoming.

Take out the first two turrets as you approach the entrance, then
head in and take out the next two. Next, get the 4 in the center
island right in front of you. Anytime you run low on health drop
back outside and get some, but you should be okay for a little while.
Once the center area is clear, fight a couple gunships that come at
you, then head to the East for some more turrets. At the far East
end is a War Junk and Royal Junk, don't approach them directly.
Instead, go back to the entrance and circle around the perimeter to
them so you can take out a couple turrets along the way, and pick
up some health/ammo.

Fire your Rockets and Cannon as you come at the two Junks, and lay
a couple Mines as you pass by to really hurt them, make a long circle
back around and finish them off and collect their health/ammo. Take out
the rest of the turrets at the East end then you'll need to get the
fuel tanks, easy enough. They're at the back, North, end of the base,
cannon them and the Mission is over. Again, keep your health up by
grabbing health and this mission is easy.

-------------------------
MISSION 13-Sampan Suprise
-------------------------
Boat:    Gunboat Gunshark
Goal:    Protect ships/fuel tanks
Unlocks: Gunboat Tigershark (Ensign)

The key to this mission is taking out the heavy hitters so you only
have to worry about the explosive Sampans. For the first wave though,
stay back by the gun enplacements and take out the 3 Sampans with
your Cannon, ONce you're notified the enemy is attacking your gun
enplacements, that's your cue to go out and take out all the big
boys. Start with the War Junk shooting at the left gun enplacement,
using Rockets/Cannon and CG, refill and go after the Royal Junk in
the distance. Your friendly boats should take care of the Sampans
for a little bit, but don't take too long. Take out the last War
Junk and this mission is almost over.

All you have to worry about now is the suicide sampans, and
they only appear 2 at a time. Stay near the guns of your base and
target them from afar and Cannon them to death before they even
get close. Keep doing this for a few waves and the mission will
be over.

-----------------------
MISSION 14-Up the Nagau
-----------------------
Boat:    Gunboat Tigershark
Goal:    Go up river, take out Ammo Depots, get 3rd Piece of Shield
Unlocks: Gunboat Fireshark (Ensign)

This is another long mission, but it's not that hard really. You
have to make it to the other end of the Nagau river then take out
a couple Ammo Depots and finally get another Talisman.

Start out by going East with your allies, and take out the first two
Sampans. Keep going and you'll encounter a couple gunships. There's
a tower on the left side of the river to take out, then a couple
more Sampans. When the river splits and you can go left through the
narrow passage or right to the wide passage, take out the tower at
the center then go right. Use the Stinger(ST) and CGs on the War
Junk you encounter and refill.

Follow the dogleg to the left and two more Sampans will be
waiting, Cannon them. There's another tower to take down at the
right turn, and this time make a sharp right and go through the
pass. There's a turret on the left and a small Sampan waiting for
you this way. WHen you get back to the open water, stay in the
wide area and avoid the delta land, there's alot of towers in there
and only 1 sampan waiting here.

Take the next left turn and there's a turret to take out on the
left edge of the river, there's another just past it but you can
boost away from it towards another turret on the right side. Take
this turret out and Cannon the Sampan. Up a little further is a
War Junk, use the Stinger and CGs and Cannon on it. You'll get
a message that you're near the Ammo Dumps.

Take out the turret ont he small island in the center, then go
right of it and take out the two gunships with your Cannon from
afar and the ST and CG when you're close. Refill from what they
drop then keep going East. Take out the docked War Junks quickly
by blowing up the Fuel tank between them by the bridge if you
want and refill some more, then keep heading to the first ammo
dump(check map). A few more sampans will come at you as you get
near the 1st Dump, they're easily disposed of with your Cannon.

A War Junk guards the 1st Ammo Dump, Cannon it as you approach
then STinger it to death, collect health/ammo then target the
Ammo Dump(looks like a wooden tower) and Cannon it. You'll get
a message confirming you blew it up and the (1) marker on your
Pause Menu map will go dark. Now go South to the 2nd Dump, just
a lone War Junk waits for you, again use your Cannon and ST then
aim for the wooden tower thing and take out the 2nd Ammo Dump.
You'll then be prompted to go after the 3rd Shield Piece, refill
before you go then head NorthEast towards the Piece.

Two turrets guard the turn into the little alcove where the
Sheild is, Cannon them from afar as you come at them then make the
turn into the alcove. Go around the temple with the piece in it
and there's an Eel boat waiting behind it. Cannon and ST and CG it
and it will fall quickly, watch out though it has a Stinger as
well! Once the Eel is down, face West and head towards the temple,
keep your crosshairs lined up underneath the shield piece and
Turbo up to the ramp. You have to get up a good amount of speed
to reach the Sheild piece, just keep going around and jumping
until you get it.

Phew! That's one of the longest missions in the game!

---------------------------
MISSION 15-A Friend in Need
---------------------------
Boat: Gunboat Fireshark
Goal: Escort Lady Helen, Protect Royal Junk, Defeat Octopus
Unlocks: Speedboat Lightning (Ensign)

Turbo out ahead of Junk and take on the first three Sampans, then
go around the right side of the first island and take on 3 more with
your Torpedoes and Rockets. Lady Helen's boat eventually curves to
the right, so head in it's direction and go out ahead of it again.
2 gunships come at you, take them on with Rockets/Torpedos, then head
towards the lighthouse and take on a couple more ships that come from
the left of it.

Once Lady Helen's ship reaches Talon Rock, another Royal Junk comes
out to meet it. Now you have to protect both ships from waves of
War Junks that come from the North and South ends. Most of the
them come from the South, and since that's where the boats you have
to protect are, you should always take out the boats coming from
the South first. For the first wave, Rocket and Torpedo the enemy
Junks as they approach, and once they're down quickly turbo to
the north to take out the two junks on that side. The second
wave is more of the same, with a couple small Sampans thrown
in. Again, take out the ones closer to your ships then get
the further away ones. After a 3rd wave of the same thing, if
both ships are around hald health you're fine, the Octopus
will appear at the South end. It's actually not too hard to
take down, just get close to it and use everything you've
got, switching constantly between your Secondary weapons
and constantly CGing it as well. It won't take too long to
sink it, and it should only get one or two good shots on your
Royal Junks, not near enough to sink them.

End of Act 3, phew!

===========================
3D. ACT 4-ENEMY OF MY ENEMY
===========================

------------------------
MISSION 16-Dash and Grab
------------------------
Boat:    Speedboat Lightning
Goal:    Recover 3 treasures from Black Moon Bay, escape
Unlocks: Nothing

This is a Mission where you don't want to fight anything, you just
want to get in and out of the harbor area as fast as possible, the
turrets and patrol boats can rip you to shreds.

Start out by following your ally boat, then break off to the East
into the delta and turbo past a couple patrol boats. You want to be in
the "middle" path of the Eastern delta, check your map to be sure. Take
out a tower at the narrow passageway into the harbor, then go through
and hug the right wall edge and shoot another turrets above you. Grab
the health if you need then continue hugging the right shore as you
go into the harbor.

Go under the stone overhang with the columns and boost a little to
get through quicker, but don't use it all. Go left out of the overhang
at the next to last opening and line up for the first treasure. You're
gonna have to be quick getting the treasure, if you get hung up on a
ramp or wall in this next part it's all over...Get the first treasure
then continue heading NorthWest-ish, grab one of the two treaure chests
just after the dock area, I usually get the second since it takes less
lining up and direction changing, then keep going towards the other
end of the harbor. You'll see another stone overhang with columns and
a treasure chest in front of it, jump the ramp to get this treasure and
go under the overhang and head SOUTHEAST. Turbo out of there and grab
the health crate at the end.

Veer off into the West delta and turbo past a single patrol boat. When
you see another one just up ahead of you, make a left turn through the
narrow pass to avoid it, you'll be close to the open waters by now. All
you have to to do is Turbo past a couple more boats and make it to the
escape point.

----------------------------
MISSION 17-Hurricane of Fire
----------------------------
Boat:    Eel
Goal:    Protect base
Unlocks: Metal Massacre Battle Mode (Ensign)

This is one of the easier protection missions. The first wave is only
3 smaller boats, use your Rockets from afar and ST and CG up close, if
they even make it that far. The next wave follows right behind them and
is a little tougher, 3 bigger boats that can do some damage. Your best
bet is to get close and ST and CG them, using Rockets as you approach
as well. Once they're down, a couple might get close to the ammo dumps
but they're easy pickens then, there's just a couple more smaller
sampans to take out, and usually you ally boats will get them while
you're working on the larger boats. If not, then just find them on
your radar and help finish them off. Simple!

------------------------------------
MISSION 18-Wolf in Dragon's Clothing
------------------------------------
Boat:    Patrol Boat Osprey
Goal:    Sink 5 freighters
Unlocks: Nothing

This mission isn't too hard, just remember to use your cover wisely.
You won't be shot at until you actually attack.

Head North and just go past the first two patrol boats that come your
way, then lay a couple mines in the path of the freighter as you get
behind it. Follow it and then let loose with your Cannons and CG and
Rockets until it's down, then take out the two escort ships with it.
Refill and head towards the next freighter.

The next two escort ships may or may not shoot at you, it depends on
if they were in range when you were fighting the freighter and it's
escorts. If they don't fire at you, then just move past them towards
the next freighter, if they do shoot then take them down with your
Cannon and CGs, easy enough. Refill and head towards the freighter,
this time you'll want to take the freighter head on as you approach
it since both escort ships are a little behind it. Switch between you
Rockets and Cannon and keep firing you CGs until it goes down, then
get the two escort ships. Refill everything and move on, sometimes
the two boats you passed earlier will come back and join the fight
as well, which can make it tougher, but usually they're already out
of range.

Head to the next freighter and just sink the two patrol boats on the
way to it to make it easier. Use the same method to take this freighter
out and there's only two more to go. Fortunately they're close to
each other, unfortunately there's a few bigger ships escorting them. I
find it easier just to concentrate on the freighters, one at a time,
and ignore the the escort ships. If you go in with full health you
should be able to stand the beating enough to take out the first
freighter, refill with all the health it drops, then take out the
second. BUT if you want to take out the big escorts, drop mines in
their paths and wail away with Rockets and Cannons, refilling after
you kill each one. Then easily take out the remaining freighters.

--------------------------------
MISSION 19-Assault on Black Moon
--------------------------------
Boat: Devil Boat Razorback
Goal: Escort Marine Junks to shore
Unlocks: Devil Boat Seawolf

This is one of the tougher escort missions, but as long as you stay
ahead of the junks and take out everything you need to quickly you'll
be alright.

Right from the start take out the two turrets on the small island
ahead of you to the right. Then get the two on the island across to
the left and move ahead to the minefield. Use torpedos on the groups
of mines, they're grouped in fours and hitting one will take them all
out. Start from the right side, take out the turret here, then just
go in a straight line across the river shooting Torpedoes at all the
mines, take out the turrets on the other side of the minefield then
get the two small ships in this area, refill and head towards the
harbor.

The harbor is tough, but if you shoot down most of the turrets it
makes it much easier. Get the 4 right at the entrance to the harbor,
then go in along the right edge and quickly AC and Rocket all the
turrets on this side of the harbor, there's some health crates
scattered around as well. Move to the back end of the harbor and keep
going along, shooting the turrets, if you run out of Rockets then just
use the 4 ACs. When you get near the big warship, use all your weapons
to take it down. Stay close so the turrets on the other side of it
will hit the warship instead of you. Refill with all the crates it drops,
it won't fire back untill the Marine Junks come into the area but you
should sink it by then, then continue taking out the turrets along the
other side of the harbor, ignoring the small boats in here until the
turrets are down.

The Marine Junks will enter at some point while you're taking out
turrets, which triggers a couple more enemy sampans to appear, get
the turrets first sicne they do more damage, then take on the sampans
until the boats reach the end point. You can lose two junks in the
course of the mission, but if you're quick you should only lose 1
or none.

------------------------------
MISSION 20-Red Sun, Black Moon
------------------------------
Boat:    Devil Boat Seawolf
Goal:    Get 4th piece of Shield, escape from Dragon
Unlocks: Nothing

A long mission, but not that hard. The Seawolf can take some abuse,
and give out plenty more. Just take everything out on your way TO the
shield piece, to make getting back easier.

Take out the turret right a the level starts, then go under the small
bridge and sink a couple small sampans with your Cannon and CGs. Refill
and continue North. As you enter the wide open area where the river turns
East there's two small ships and 2 larger gunships. Take out the two
small ships before you get in range of the bigger ones then move on and
take the big guys on. Refill completely, but leave some health crates
for the way back, then keep moving towards the temple.

At the next turn area take out 2 more turrets from afar, then go AWAY
from the turn and take out a couple small boats. Now, face the entrance
to the temple area while still back away from it a bit and take out all
the turrets you can lock onto. When you can't get to anymore, slowly
approach the entrance of the temple alcove and blast any that you can
lock onto. When you're close to the entrance, go in and take out the
rest of the turrets that surround this alcove first, then engage the
2 larger boats in here to refill everything. Trust me, it's easier
to take everything out and refill rather than trying to dash in and
out to get the piece, you'll just get slaughtered.

Once everything is gone in the alcove, make the jump to get the
Shield piece so that you're facing the exit of the alcove when you
land, once you have the piece you have to make it all the way back
before the Dragon gets into the river area. Grab the piece and head
back the way you came, there's a lone gunship as you exit the temple
area that you can just turbo past. Collect the health from the battles
you fought on the way and make the turn back towards the starting point.
Take out the 3 small ships by the small bridge to refill one last time
before making your escape run.

Continue on past the starting point, towards the escape point on your
radar. Don't attack any of the huge ships you encounter, just go by the
first one you see, then go left around the Dragon, staying as far away
from it as possible. Grab the health crates by the wall then Turbo
towards the escape point, you'll be taking fire from the Dragon the
whole time but you should be in good enough shape to make it.

===========================
3E. ACT 5-FACING THE DRAGON
===========================

------------------------
MISSION 21-Striking Back
------------------------
Boat:    Devil Boat Seawolf
Goal:    Escort convoy through Emerald Straights
Unlocks: Nothing

Turbo ahead of the convoy and take out 3 small sampans, then go back
to the convoy and take out a couple more that come from the East. Once
it's clear here, move NorthWest and take on a few more small ships,
all of these should be easy with all your firepower, once they're done
refill everything and head towards the Destoryer.

Use everything you've got on the Destroyer as you approach it, you'll
take some damage but keep wailing away, not getting too close or the
turrets will nail you. You could wait for some help from your friends,
but then the convoy will take some damage, in Admiral difficulty you
almost HAVE to wait for the convoy to get there. Do as much damage as you
can, if you're near death then back off and collect health from your
prior battles and wait for help. Once the Destoryer is down take out
the 4 turrets that are near it, 2 on each side of the narrow pass.

Past this is a wide open area with tons of turrets in it and some
more enemies. You want to concentrate on the turrets at first, go along
the edges of the area and shoot them one at a time with your Cannon, use
your radar to spot any that you miss. Once all or most of them are down
then go after the ships in the area, about 4 or 5, to refill.

Just as you exit the open area an Octopus shows up, turbo ahead of the
fleet and use all your weapons to take it out as quickly as possible,
it's not that tough, really. It doesn't move too much, just switch
between your Secondary Weapons and fire away until it sinks and you're
home free.

----------------------------
MISSION 22-Heart of Darkness
----------------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Hellcat
Goal:    Sneak in through tunnel, sink Gamal, escape
Unlocks: Nothing

This is a tough, tough hit and run mission. It may take a few tries,
but the only way to get through this is to get in and sink Gamal as
quickly as possible. then get out again.

From the beginning, turbo past the attack boats and head right to
the tunnel, take out the turret if you want. Go left in the tunnel
then head NORTH once you're out. Gamal is docked right by a huge
warship. Boost up to him and use all your weapons to try and take
Gamal down on the first pass. If you don't, head back towards the
tunnel and Gamal will follow, you mainly want to get away from the
large warship. If Gamal doesn't follow you, you'll have to make
another run and hope you survive, if you have more than half your
health you should be okay. If not, you should consider restarting
the mission and trying to get him on the first run again.

Take out Gamal by the tunnel if you didn't before, you'll be
pretty low on health and he doesn't drop any. Turbo back into the
tunnel and get back to the open space where you started and you'll
be forced to surrender.

--------------------
MISSION 23-Gladiator
--------------------
Boat:    Catamaran Hellcat
Goal:    Sink 10 ships, get Hydroplane boat
Unlocks: Hydoplane Switchblade

You'll be trapped in the arena for the first part of this mission,
but it's pretty easy. You have to sink 10 ships total for your friends
to blow up the gates so you can get out. The first couple waves are
small Osprey boats that you can take down easily, refill after each
one that goes down, once you defeat 5 then they'll switch to larger
gunboats. They're not much tougher, just keep beating them one at a
time as they come out until the gates blow up.

Head through the tunnel and use your Rockets and Torpedoes as you
approach the enemy at the end. Refill then go right of the island and
fight a couple more patrol boats, easy enough. There's two more ships
guarding the Knife Boat, take them out and then park next to the Knife
Boat to end the mission.

------------------------------
MISSION 24-What's Mine is Mine
------------------------------
Boat:    Hyrdoplane Switchblade
Goal:    Sink Destroyers, escort captured freighter
Unlocks: Nothing

At the start, just Turbo past the smaller boats and head for the
Destroyers. To take them down, make passes back and forth at the
broadsides of the destroyers, firing everything you've got on your
approach, then turbo away before they're weapons can get you. Take
them out one at a time, refill after getting the first one in front
of the freighter, then sink the second one the same way.

Once you've taken out both destroyers youhave to protect the freighter
from the smaller boats. Take out all the lingering escort boats as the
freighter turns around slowly. Another wave will come from the straights,
about 4 midsize boats in all. Fight them all off as the freighter heads
South towards the friendly boats(who don't help you...), keep killing
enemy ships and refilling until the freighter makes it to the safe point.

-----------------------------------
MISSION 25-An Explosive Combination
-----------------------------------
Boat:    Hydroplane Switchblade
Goal:    Escort junks to landing zone
Unlocks: Nothing

This Mission is just one huge battle the whole way through, turbo up
with your allies and take out some enemy ships and turrets until the
first Destroyer shows up, once it does use the same hit and run tactics
as last mission to take it out, refill then go back taking out turrets
and smaller ships.

A second Destroyer will show up, again, make passes at it nailing it
with everything you've got until it goes down. Refill and continue
taking out ships and turrets until the convoy reaches the landing zone.
Take out as many turrets as you can, but check back with the convoy to
sink any enemy ships that are causing damage. Once the junks reach the
landing spot the mission is done.

--------------------------
MISSION 26-The Burning Sea
--------------------------
Boat:    Hyrdoplane Switchblade
Goal:    Escort junks to gate, get last piece of shield
Unlocks: Act 6

Turbo ahead and engage the first wave of 5 boats, go for the largest
in the middle to start, then work on the rest with your allies. Use the
Wave Gun as you approach to take out their torpedoes. Once the ships
are gone, take out the 4 turrets at the narrow pass.

Enter the harbor area and take out the smaller boats near the entrance.
Then, quickly go to the right side of the main gate where a warship is
blocking the ramp you need to use to jump the wall. Get to the right
side of the boat so most of the turrets and other large ships can't
shoot at you, take down the warship and refill your health and ammo.
Then quickly circle around and boost up to the ramp to jump the wall.

Don't even bother shooting anything in this area, just turbo to
the North to the small gate blocking your way. Use your Rockets and
Torpedoes as you approach the gate then head into the Shield piece
area. Refill with all the crates in here and get ready to make a
dash all the way back to the starting point of the mission.

Don't Turbo until you get to the end of the tunnel and a couple
enemies show up, turbo past them and head towards the main gate
which will be open now. Just keep running and boosting when it
refills back out of the harbor area, then all the way back to the
starting point. You'll take some damage, but nothing major.

==========================
ACT 6-TO THE DRAGON'S LAIR
==========================

----------------------------
MISSION 27-The Dragon's Claw
----------------------------
Boat:    Hyrdoplane Switchblade
Goal:    Sink the Dragon
Unlocks: Nothing

Now you get to take on the huge battleship Dragon. The trick is that
your shield can reflect it's deadly Dragon's Claw attack back at it.
Before you get to the Dragon, take on the first wave of enemy ships
with your allies, this will build a base of health and ammo crates to
come back to when you need.

Once the first 5 or 6 enemy boats are sunk, move on to the Dragon.
You want to get close enough to let it shoot the Dragon's Claw at you
but not so close that it's normal weapons can tear you apart. Ignore
any other enemy ships at this point and park yourself by the Dragon.
Fire at it with all your weapons to do some damage, but you'll hurt it
mainly by reflecting the huge DC shot. Keep firing and wait for it
to blast you a few times with the DC, back off and refill your health
if you need, then get back in position and just wait for it to shoot
you as you wail away with your normal weapons. After 4-8 shots(depending
on difficulty level) the Dragon will sink and the mission is over.

------------------------------
MISSION 28-Citadel of the Khan
------------------------------
Boat:    Hyrdoplane Switchblade
Goal:    Make it to Citadel, kill Kung
Unlocks: Epilogue

This is another mission where you'll want to run instead of fight
until you get to the very end. You'll face a gauntlet of tough ships and
turrets, but you can outrun them all and use your Wave Gun to take out
the mines that are set.

Select the Wave Gun and turbo past the Basilisks at the first turn,
WG the mines at the choke point and go through. Go past another Basilisk
just past the choke point, then turbo through the open area and past
the Octopus near the left turn, take out some more mines with the WG and
contine on towards the Citadel.

Turbo past the turrets and Basilisk in the tight turns and WG more
mines. When you reach the open area, turbo straight to the hidden tunnel
going right by the three ships guarding it.

Once you get in the tunnel, take out the lone enemy in this section
and refill your health(sometimes it drops all ammo boxes, great...), then
take the right fork and take out one more enemy in here to completely
refill before you go into the Citadel area.

Enter the Citadel alcove and concentrate on taking out the 8 or so
turrets that surround the Citadel before worrying about the two warships
in here with you. Refill your health with the left over crates in the
cave if needed, then work on the two warships with all your weapons.
Refill from their dropped crates, defeating both will bring out Lung.
Lung is a standard, easy fight. Just wail away on him with all your
weapons, get close behind him so he can't use his Rockets(but watch out
for mines) and fire and fire and fire until he goes down.

Congratulations, you just beat Blood Wake!

===========
4B. WEAPONS
===========

Here I've listed all the weapons available in the game with a short
desciption of each one. The Primary Weapons have unlimited ammo but can
overheat if used constantly. The Secondary Weapons have limited ammo,
you can get more by picking up a RE-ARM powerup.

-------
PRIMARY
-------

CHAIN GUN

A short range weapon that does decent damage, fire it in few-second-
bursts to take out smaller ships quickly and lay on some extra damage
to larger ships as you pummel them with your Secondary weapons.

AUTO CANNON

A little slower but a little more powerful than the chain gun, use
it in basically the same way.

---------
SECONDARY
---------

ROCKET LAUNCHER

There are two type of Rockets, Homing and Dumbfire. Homing Rockets
will track a target, even at medium to long ranges, while Dumbfire
Rockets just fire straight ahead, so their range is more limited.
When using Dumbfire Rockets, be sure to lead the target to inflict
the most damage, or get right behind them and lay it on. Rockets
fire in groups of three.

CANNON

A good mid  and close range weapon, and also good for ground targets
other weapons can't reach. The damage the Cannon causes is great, and
it can hit targets just out of reach of your Primary weapons.

TORPEDOES

Torpedoes are just like Rockets except they travel in the water,
they, too, have two different types, homing and dumbfire. Torpedoes
have the longest range of any of the weapons in the game and cause
a great amount of damage.

MINE

Mines are proximity weapons that are dropped from the back of your
ship. If an enemy is on your tail, drop a couple mines to teach him
a lesson, but watch out, you can take damage from your own mines
once they're in the water!

STINGER

The Stinger emits an Electrostatic Shock at a very short range
in front of your boat, but the damage it causes makes up for the range
problem.

WAVE GUN

The Wave Gun causes a disturbance in the water in front of you,
and a wave is formed in the water that rolls away from your boat. The
damage isn't so hot, but the WG can be used defensively to take out
mines and torpedoes.

============
4C. POWERUPS
============

Powerups appear on the water and can help your boat in a variety of
ways. Story Mode only has two types of power ups, while Battle Mode
has the two in Story Mode plus four more.

----------
STORY MODE
----------

REPAIR

Replenishes your health, get them from enemy ships you sink. I refer
to them alot as "health crates" or just "health" in the guide, but
REPAIR is the official name of them.

RE-ARM

Refills some of the ammo for your Secondary Weapons, very important!
They also come from enemy ships. I call them "ammo crates" alot in the
guide, but Re-Arm is the official name.

-----------
BATTLE MODE
-----------

FIREPOWER

This temporarily raises the damage level of you weapons

SPEED

Makes your boat go faster for a short amount of time

SHIELD

Makes your boat invincible for a short timne

ACCURACY

Gives your Rockets, Torpedoes, and Primary Weapons better homing
abilities for a short period of time.

5.                            NEXT REVISION
=========================================================================
The next version will probably just fix any major spelling and grammar
errors, and add any tips or strategies anyone sends in. If needed, a
Thank You section will be added as well.

If you have any tips or better strategies for any of the Missions I've
already done, then be sure to send it in. My E-Mail is listed below, but
please read the guidelines for E-Mailing me, thanks.

6.                           ABOUT THE AUTHOR
=========================================================================

This is just one of a few FAQs I've written, all of which are
available at GameFAQS. A few my FAQs are on various other websites
(usually with proper creditO_o) as well. I hope this or any of the other
FAQs I've written help you in some way, or allow you to enjoy a game
more than before, or maybe just get a good read out of it.

If you have any questions about this game, or any other I've
written a FAQ for, feel free to drop me an E-Mail. BUT keep in
mind a few things:

1. Please don't ask when the next revision will be out, or if I
can send it to you, or if I can help you with a part not covered in the
FAQ yet.  I don't really have a set schedule for these things, and you
can pick up the FAQ(s) at GameFAQs.

2. Please don't ask about something already covered in the FAQ.
Usually once a FAQ comes out I'm swamped with E-Mails and skip
ones that are covered in the FAQ.

3. Don't mail asking for codes, I don't have a Gameshark or keep
track of cheat codes or anything.

Other than that, I try to answer every single E-Mail I get and
am usually pretty good at getting back to people quickly, but
sometimes I lose letters in my computer or forget to keep them as
new. If I don't answer in a week or so it's safe to say I won't
be getting back to you, sorry.
