Basic Information (IFMT)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to Wii Fit, the game from Nintendo and Touch! Generations that will
(hopefully) get you in shape! If you are reading this, that means you probably
have some questions about this game, or you are extremely bored. Assuming that
you are here for the first reason, let's learn a little bit about this game.
Wii Fit was released in America on May 21, 2008. Wii Fit, as you should know,
comes packaged with the Wii Balance Board. Without the board, you will not be
able to play this game.
The Wii Balance Board is capable of holding up to 330 lbs. Also, you should
NEVER EVER EVER jump on the Wii Balance Board.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Controls (CTRS)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To play all of the games on Wii Fit, you will need:
2 Wii Remotes*
1 Nunchuck
1 Balance Board
And of course, a Wii and a Wii Fit game.
* Two Wii remotes are needed to do the 2 Player run.
A button - Select/Proceed
B button - Back/Return
Directional Pad - Shuffle through choices
Pointer - Select choice
Plus button - Change page/Pause game
Minus button - Change page
Home Button - HOME Menu
The Wii Remote will be used to select what you are going to do, either by
using the directional pad or pointing and clicking. There are also a few
exercises that utilize the Wii Remote, or Wii Remote + Nunchuck. The Balance
Board is, of course, used for most of the activities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starting Your Game (STYG)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you first pop in your Wii fit game and select it from the Wii Menu, you
might have to do a Wii System Update, depending on your current status.
After starting up the game, you will be asked to create a profile. Select your
Mii, and then let the Wii Balance Board introduce itself. After selecting your
Mii, read the warning about deleting Miis from the Mii Channel. Listen to the
Board talk about posture, and then follow the instructions for your age,
height, etc. After your information is put in, you will do your first Body
Test. For more information that, see the Body Test section. You can also
password-protect your profile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Menu (WFMN)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the main menu, you can observe many things. Any Miis you have created Wii
Fit profiles for will be standing at the bottom. If you observe them for a
while, you may see them do many things, from sleeping to the Tree Pose. Above
your Miis is the graph. It displays your Body Mass Index (BMI), and your Fit
Credits (more info on those later.
To the left are two options.
1. At the top is Wii Menu, which will return you to the Wii Menu.
2. Below that is New Profile. By clicking on that, you can create profiles for
more Miis. You can have up to eight (8) profiles.
To the right are two more options.
3. Settings allows you to install the Wii Fit Channel. This allows you to do a
Body Test without having the Wii Fit disk in your Wii. However, to do any
training, you must have the disk in. You can also do a Wii Balance Board
check to make sure that your Board is in tip-top shape. You can also access
the Credits from here.
4. Trial will allow you to use Guest Miis to do a Body Test or Training.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your Profile (PRLE)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By selecting one of your Miis, you will be taken to Your Profile. From here.
you can see your calendar.
To the right of this calendar, there are two options:
1. Wii Fit Plaza will return you to the main menu.
2. Graph will show you your progress thus far. You can check your BMI, weight,
Wii Fit Age, and Fit credits.
To the left is User Settings.
1. Edit Profile allows you to change your Mii, height, date of birth, and
password.
2. Change design allows you to change your calendar color and your Stamp
Design.
3. Change trainer allows you to switch between the male and female trainers.
4. Delete User Data is where you can delete your entire profile.
Below the graph are two options: Body Test, and Training.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Body Test (BDTS)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By selecting Body Test, you can measure your weight, BMI, and center of
balance. BMI, or body mass index, uses your height and weight to tell you
if you are Underweight, Normal, Overweight, or Obese.
Before you begin, you will be asked how heavy your clothes are. If you are
wearing light shorts/t-shirt, select Light. If you are wearing jeans/hoody/
animal skin/winter coat, select Heavy. If you are not sure/naked, select
Other.
After situating yourself on the Board, stand as still as possible while you
are measured. Sometimes, you will be asked to close your eyes. when you're
finished, relax and review your results.
First is your center of balance. You want your red dot to be exactly in the
center. If it isn't, listen to the Board as it lectures you on good posture.
If you're balance is good, then congrats!
Next is your BMI. You want your BMI to be in the middle of the Normal section.
Finally, your weight. Check the scale to see if you have lost or gained
weight.
Next, your graph will be updated with your new information.
After you finish your Body Test, you can go on to do two (2) balance tests to
check your Wii Fit Age. There are five (5) tests in all.
1. Basic Balance Test - Spread your feet apart. Balance left and right to keep
the red bar in the blue area for three (3) seconds. There are five levels,
and you only have thirty seconds. Pretty basic.
2. Walking Test - Stand with your feet spread equally, and walk in place for
20 steps just like you would normally. Swing your arms a little to help
balance yourself.
3. Agility Test - Shift your center of balance to the front, left, back, and
right as you try to hit the blue boxes with the dot.
4. Single-Leg Balance Test - Stand on one leg, and try to maintain your
balance. The graph will get more narrow as the clock ticks down. If you go
outside of the graph, then it's over.
5. Steadiness Test - Try to stand as still as possible for the duration of the
test (thirty seconds). Do not follow the box.
After you complete your two balance tests, you will be given a Wii Fit age.
You want your Wii Fit age to be the same as or lower than your actual age.
If you do two Body Tests in one day, you will be asked if you wish to save
the new one instead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Training (TRNG)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By selecting the Training icon, you will be taken to the Training menu.
To the left is your Fit Credits bank. Credits are how long you spend playing
Wii Fit. The more credits you have, the more activities you unlock. the bank
will alternate between Today's Time and your Total Time. To the right are
Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games.
You can choose to have either a Male or Female trained.
During many of the exercises, there will be a yellow circle, and a red dot.
If you move, the red dot will move. Try to keep the red dot within the
yellow circle.
In others, there may be a bar with a blue area. Your job is to keep the weight
within the blue area.
And in others, there will be a graph. The red line will move depending on the
position of the Wii Remote. Keep it in the middle.
In some of the balance games, there will be a blue area. Keep the red dot
within that area to improve your performance.
After doing an exercise in Yoga or Strength Training, you will be graded
according to your center of balance. You will also be awarded stars based on
your number of points. There are a few exercises that you do not get graded
on.
0-49 pts. = 1 star
49-69 pts. = 2 stars
70-89 pts. = 3 stars
90-100 pts. = 4 stars
The Aerobics and Balance Games are judged differently, either by how many
points you earned, or by how long it took you to complete the activity.
There are also exercises that you can unlock. For more information on
unlockables, see the Unlockables section.
For some exercises that you already have, you can add more repititions,
increase the time, or unlock harder levels for them. For more information
on that, see the Unlockables section.
Take it slow, and be sure not to stomp the poor balance board.
and then back/down will keep your Mii at the right pace.
just right, since there are so many. However, I know that 3354+ spins will
get you four stars, as that is my record. I will try to get more accurate
numbers soon, but here they are for now. If anyone has a definite list,
please let me know. I will give credit to anyone who helps me.
Basically the same as the Basic Step, except for a couple of things. First,
there are some green steps following the regular red steps. After stepping
on the red step, bring your other foot forward and kick it out, and then
put it back on the ground. Don't touch the balance board with it. There are
also purple steps. These are for stepping on sideways. Also, toward the
poor balance board.
6. 2-P Run - A second friend can join you with a second Wii Remote, but their
data will not be saved.
Required - 2 Wii Remotes
Distances - Short, Long, Island lap
Targeted area - Body Fat
This is the same as the Basic Run, except there are two people. While it
may seem like a good idea to race, don't, because then you won't have good
rhythm. And you might hurt yourself.
1 - 59 % = 1 star
60 - 79 % = 2 stars
80 - 99 % = 3 stars
100 - + % = 4 stars
My record - 95%
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7. Rhythm Boxing - Throw punches in time with the rhythm. This workout will
help you burn your body fat.
To unlock: 1:40 Fit Credits
Required - Wii Remote + Nunchuck
Time - 3, 6, 10 minutes
Targeted area - Body Fat
Forget burning your body fat, now you're beating it up! This one can be a
little bit difficult. Whenever you throw the first punch, move the foot
from that side forward as well. Only move the foot with the first punch,
and put it back after the last one. Example: the pattern is left, right,
left. Punch with your left fist while stepping off with your left foot.
Punch with your right fist, and do not move any feet. Your left foot should
still be on the ground. Now, punch again with your right fist, and then
pull your fist AND foot back. If you put more force into the punch, then
you will get double points.
Thanks to Zeratul010 for helping me with stars on rhtyhm boxing, because I
can barely get two stars. :(
Look for the smoke coming out of the punching bag - one plume of smoke will
appear after obtaining each star. I don't remember exact values, but I think
it's 75/star for 3 min., and 250/star for 10 min. - Zeratul010
So, with that in mind:
3 minutes
1 - 74 pts. = 1 star
75 - 149 pts. = 2 stars
150 - 224 pts. = 3 stars
225 - + pts. = 4 stars
6 minutes
1 - 149 pts. = 1 star
150 - 299 pts. = 2 stars
300 - 449 pts. = 3 stars
450 - + pts. = 4 stars
10 minutes
1 - 249 pts. = 1 star
250 - 499 pts. = 2 stars
500 - 749 pts. = 3 stars
750 - + pts. = 4 stars
My record - 200 pts.
dodge other flying objects.
Required - Wii Balance Board
200 - 349 pts. = 3 stars
350 - + pts. = 4 stars
Beginner - Stand on the board, and lean left and right to go through the
gates. Try to keep the dot within the blue area to increase your speed.
Lean slowly so that you don't take huge curves. Missing gates will penalize
you, adding 7 seconds for each on to your time.
0:39.99 - 0:30.00 = 3 stars
your Mii jump, and then keep the dot in the circle to maintain balance.
the balls into the holes.
will spin, and then the marble will reaappear. Sometimes, I will sacrifice
other marbles to get one in. If you do this, you must move quickly, as the
table will spin, throwing other marbles off. When you clear a level, more
time will be added.
For each level you clear, you get ten points. For each additional second
you have left, you get an extra point.
1 - 29 pts. = 1 star
Ultimate Balance Test (UBTS)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the training menu, if you look at the background, you will see the Wii
Balance Board. Click on him to take the Ultimate Balance Test, which I find
EXTREMELY difficult.
This test is a lot like the Basic Balance Test, except that for the last one,
you must be able to hold your balance at 50-50 for three seconds, which I
find impossible.

Fitness Tips (WFTP)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These are the tips that the Wii Balance Board will sometimes give you. I will
add them as I see them. If anyone has a complete list of these, I would
appreciate it if you could send it to me.
1. If you want to gain muscle, it's important to nourish your body with sugars
and protein after a workout. Eating protein can really help boost your
muscle mass. Keep this in mind while you're working out with me!
2. At night, I recommend taking a long bath in a tub of lukewarm water. Water
at body temperature can relax your body and help you sleep like a log! In
case you're wondering, I don't take baths... It wouldn't be good for my
circuitry.
3. If you feel like eating something before you start exercising, why not try
a banana? Bananas are easily digested, and the sugars they contain are
easily converted into active energy. Remember, working out on an empty
stomach can put extra strain on your body because it san't function
efficiently.
