House of the Dead: Overkill - Golden Brains FAQ by Jimi

This is just an little FAQ that lists all golden brains. I found nothing good
on the internet, so I wrote it by myself.
Chapter 1 - Papa's Palace of Pain
1. Immediately on the left at start of level
2. Behind the fountain just in front of the house, get it after shooting
the crows.
3. In the 2nd room after entering the house on the left side in the chimney
4. After running back to the entrance of the house in the following room on
the right side on the couch.
5. After that room in the next one in one of the bookshelves
6. After walking up the stairs, just behind the chandelabra that you shoot to
kill all the zombies below
7. In the first room upstairs, just behind the bed
8. In the room after you went outside, just in the back of the room
9. After leaving that room just in front of you (look up)
10. After going back just on a table
11. After entering the house again (went outside a second time) just on a
little table
(Going upstairs a second time)
12. After going upstairs again and in the room where you rescue the civilian
13. In the second room upstairs just behind some crates (look down and right
when standing at those crates)

14. In the second room that you enter just in front of you on top of a machine
15. When rescueing the last civilian, use slo-mo to get it easier
Chapter 2 - Ballistic Trauma
1. After entering the hospital, you will turn left. There's your brain.
2. You will go through a door afterwards and then go to another door (you won't
go through it). The brain is in plain sight there.

3. You will enter a hallway. The brain is at the end of that hallway to your
left.
4. You will enter a second operation room and then enter another hallway.
The brain is in a sink on your right in that hallway.

5. Entering a room with patients you will first kill some patient mutants and
you will then get attacked by a doctor and another mutant coming out of the
nurses station. The brain comes directly after killing the other mutant.
It's on your right side and you have to be really quick to get it.

6. You will get attacked by 2 waves of mutants. Afterwards you will quickly
look "backwards" which means into the opposite direction that you were
facing when the heli crashed. There's your brain, but you need to be really
quick. Best use an automatic weapon to get it. Its almost in the center.
7. After entering the cafeteria, you will first get attacked from the front and
then turn to your right. The brain is far far away in that direction.
8. You will then enter the kitchen and pass some burning corpses. You will then
enter a door and the brain is just right there.
9. You will now get attacked in a room several times and then walk out there
passing computer monitors. You will look to your right for a second and
there's your brain. It's on your left side in the center.
10. You will pass through some hallways and then enter a room again, getting
attacked by 4 doctors. The brain is in "plain view" but hard to see. It's
within the light.
11. You will get a peak view on the screamer, directly afterwards comes the
brain for a split second. It will pass in the center of the screen.
12. After going down some stairs, you will shoot mutants in a hallway. The
brain is there on your right.
13. After passing through the morgue, you will enter a room and turn around
when being attacked by a nurse. The brain is on your upper right.
14. Directly afterwards you will get attacked by a mutant that is coming
through a door. The brain is directly behind that mutant.
15. You will go along and get attacked by another mutant that is coming through
a door. The brain is again directly behind that mutant.
Chapter 3 - Carny
1. After rescueing the first civilian, you will get to a trash can getting
attacked. The brain is just in front of that trash can.
2. After that you will get to an area with a big skull in the background.
One of the eyes of the skull is the brain. Just wait a second till you get
attacked by 2 clowns. It's easy to get it now.
3. After rescueing the second civilian, you will turn around and the brain is
on your left side. Flames will come up shortly after, but you can still get
it by shooting at the fire.
4. Just after that you will make a huge jump. Just after that jump you will
turn to your right and see the brain far far away.
5. After rescueing another civilian don't shoot the mutants yet, but look far
far to your right. You will see the brain there.
6. After going through the poster that the football player went through, you
will see the brain directly in front of you.
7. After rescuing another 2 civilians, you will walk some meters and there is
your brain right in front of you.
8. Just a bit later you will get attacked by hordes of mutants (including 2
football players), right after that mutants will jump out of one of the
"boxes" and there is your brain at the right side of the "box".
9. You will enter an area with play machines. You will get attacked by 2 waves
and afterwards by one female mutant - and there's your brain.
10. You will now sit in a wagon that will drive you some way. Just after sitting
you will see the brain on your right side.
11. Drive a bit and you will see the next brain just in front of you still
while driving (after passing through 4 doors).
12. Right before crashing you will see another brain right in front of you.

13. Right when getting attacked by 4-5 clowns, you will see the brain far away.

14. just at the start the brain is on your right in the center.
15. When the clowns come out, there is one brain just left near the centered
clowns.
Chapter 4 - Scream Train
1. Right at the start on your left side on some lockers
(getting attacked cutscene)
2. right after the cutscene to your left side is the brain
3. just some meters afterwards you will get attacked from front and back, the
brain is on your right side just ahead

4. right after the jump you will see the brain on your right side
5. you will get attacked in front of the 2nd door by some mutants, the brain is
on your right side.
6. now you will shoot some mutants in front of another door, then turn around
get chased by some more mutants, then enter that mentioned door and get
attacked by another mutant. Well and there's your brain on the right side.
7. You will get up some stairs to some disco room, the brain is immediately at
the top of the stairs to your left side.
8. When getting attacked by two throwers, there's a brain just in the middle of
those two.
9. Directly after those 2 throwsers, there's another brain on your left side.
10. After going down the stairs again, you will shoot a mutant that was coming
out of a door on your right side. The brain is just straight ahead from
that zombie.
11. After rescueing the civilian shoot into the fire on your right side. The
brain is there, but you won't see it.
12. There is another brain directly on your left side as well, just don't shoot
the thrower and you should get it.

13. Just after the cutscene on your right side.
14. After entering another wagon, you will see the brain on your left side.

15. When entering the second wagon, you will see the brain on your right side.
Chapter 5 - Fetid Waters
1. Right at the start on your right side
2. When climbing the wooden plank in the swamp and looking to your left side,
you will see the brain right there
3. You will then enter an area with houses, the brain is right there in front
of the house on your left side
4. When entering the house, the brain is right there on your right side.
5. Immediately after that one, you will take a look into a small room with 2
mutants. The brain is in the sink here.
6. After rescueing 2 civilians you will come across a car with an open trunk.
the brain is in this trunk.
7. After crawling through under a car, you will fight one wave of mutants, then
another one and there's your brain again in a trunk.
8. Just afterwards you will fight another wave and there's another brain in
another trunk.
9. You will enter a boat house afterwards, when you exit it and look to your
right side, you will see the brain far away.
10. When riding the boat, you will pass a boat that has been turned around with
some mutants on it. Just shoot those mutants and expose a brain.
11. Just after leaving the boat, look up and there's your brain in the sky.

12. just behind the stomatch mutant from the cutscene is a fine brain
(bird cutscene)
13. After shooting the birds and entering the house, 2 mutants will come out of
a door. You will see a brain behind that door.
14. After going into the cellar, you will see the brain just ahead.

15. When battling the boss, you will run away from some bats. During that
phase, there will be a brain passing on your left side.
Chapter 6 - Jailhouse Judgement
1. Just after entering the level behind the police car (some meters away, you
have to aim somewhat)
2. After leaving that area you will enter a prison block. After defeating
some mutants, you will walk forward, look to your right and then quickly
look into a cell on the left. There's your brain, you need to be really
quick for this one. Best aim for center left on the screen to get it.
3. In the big cell block area (two floors) you will fight a lot of mutants
coming from behind you. Then afterwards 2 will come through doors from the
left. Afterwards again 2 will come through doors on the left. Now one will
run at you, one will come from the left and one through a door from the
right. In the room that the one from the right was in is the brain.
If you miss it first, you can get it after the heli scene by looking way
to your left. Anyway this will get you a lot of damage though.
4. Afterwards you will enter a shower area, the last shower that you will take
a look has a brain on the ground. It's the last shower on the left.
5. Just after the rescuing the lovely civilian the brain is on the right side
of her. You will have to be really quick or just dont shoot the mutant on
your left side before shooting the brain.
6. In the next room that you enter the brain will be sitting on a computer
screen.
7. After going up some stairs in the following room just in plain view on a
desk.

8. After rescueing the civilian and going down the stairs, just at the far away
right side down there.
9. After entering another cell block, 2 mutants will enter through doors.
Directly afterwards one will enter through a door. The brain is in that
cell (very hard to see).

10. Just afterwards right where the heli shot them down
11. After going down the stairs just defeat some mutants. The brain is on one
of the two trash cans just left of the stairs (on the right when you come
down the stairs).
12. You will enter through some doors and into another cell complex. The brain
is somewhere above in that complex.
13. Somewhere further along the path you will get attacked by a stomach mutant.
The brain is on your right then.
14. You will then walk up a slope and continue to your right. The brain is on
that way. You will first see it for 1-2 seconds, but afterwards you will
get another chance of getting it. Just don't shoot the mutant.

15. You will get attacked by a doctor here, the brain is in the following room
directly on your right.
Chapter 7 - Overkill
1. Right at the start after killing the first wave of mutants, you will turn
right. Well, look a bit more to your right and there's your first brain.
2. In the next room that you enter is the second brain. You need to shoot the
brain after you turn around the 4th time. It's in the back of the room.
3. In the next room, you will get in cover behind a table. While being there
you will see the brain.
4. Again in the following room, you will first get attacked by a group of
mutants and you will run away. You will see a slo-mo, then turn around and
there's your brain again.
5. You will now enter a long hallway. You will see the brain behind one of the
windows. Just after killing some mutants, there will be also mutants
climbing through it. Your chance to grab it.
6. After that one, you will pass another window with another brain. You will
get attacked from the opposite window and then 3 mutants will attack you
from the hallway. That's your chance. Look far right and you should get it.
7. You will now enter another room, get attacked and run up some stairs. The
brain is right there in front of 2 mutants.
8. You will run down the stairs again, you see the slo-mo? Shoot the box
beneath it and reveal another brain.
9. After rescueing a civilian, you will shoot some mutants and run into another
part of the room. The brain is right there.

10. After entering the room, you should see the brain. It's above the pool.
11. When being at the position opposite the door that you enter and being
attacked from mutants within the pool, you should spot a brain far away.
12. When going through the door, you will see the brain to your right. Anyway,
you can't shoot it yet. Kill the wave coming from your right, then the
one in front of you, then the wave to your left. Now you should turn
around and be able to shoot the brain (look at your right side).
13. You will enter another room with a civilian surround by mutants. You will
shoot those from several angles, turn around and there's your brain on the
floor.
14. Entering another room now, you will see a civilian in a room telling you to
open the door. You will now get attacked by 2 mutants. Before killing
them, look to your far left and you will see another brain.
15. After crawling through the vents, you will get into another room. You will
get attacked by some mutants in here as well and you should get to a
point, where you see the brain straight near a dead corpse.
