I. Introduction
This is a FAQ/Walkthrough for the Wii game House of the Dead: Overkill. It
contains instructions on how to play, boss strategies, gold brain locations,
a list of the unlockables, and a mini-review.
Note: This guide contains plot spoilers.
*******************************************************************************
II. Background Story
Here is the background story from the instruction booklet:
WELCOME TO BAYOU CITY
Dear Agent,
For your first assignment out of the AMS academy, you will be dispatched to
the locale of Bayou City. You have been briefed thoroughly by your supervisor
and know where to start your investigation of the man known only as Papa
Caesar.
This procedure manual has been developed to equip you with the knowledge
needed to use your deadly AMS skills. Try to obtain additional expertise and
insight from regional law enforcement, but bear in mind that they are not
trained as thoroughly as you are. Never forget that you are at the peak of
the rigorous AMS training program.
You'll be scared at times, agent, but don't worry; we've all been there.
You'll want your mommy before tonight is through, that's fine. But I have
faith in you, I know you can solve this case. Good luck.
From the desk of the AMS Director General,

III. Getting Started
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Profiles
On the title screen, press A and B simultaneously to go to the Profile Select
Screen. There are three different profiles to choose from.
If you are selecting a profile for the first time, you'll be prompted to enter
a name. Immediately afterwards, you'll be taken straight into the action of
Papa's Palace of Pain in Story Mode.
If you select a profile that has already been played, you can choose between
four different categories: Story Mode, Director's Cut, Mini Games, or Option
Settings.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. Story Mode
Story Mode is the main game. On this screen you will be able to choose a
level to play, toggle Dual Wield and Extra Mutants, view Memorabilia Extras,
or view High Score Records.
Level Select
There are seven levels to choose from, each represented by a movie poster.
Extra Mutants
Select this option to toggle having more mutants in a stage on or off (if there
is only one mutant in the square it's off, if there are three it's on). Having
more mutants makes the stage harder, but gives you more a chance to score a
lot more points.
Dual Wield
You must first beat the game in Director's Cut to unlock this option. If Dual
Wield is turned on, you can use a second Wiimote to use two guns
simultaneously.
Memorabilia Extras
This allows you to view the various videos, images, and music you have unlocked
for satisfying certain criteria (you can also view the criteria needed to
unlock the remaining items, VERY handy).
High Score Records
Here you can view the high score list for each stage as well as keep track of
how many Golden Brains you have collected and civilians you have rescued.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Director's Cut
This mode must be unlocked by beating the game in Story Mode. The levels in
Director's Cut are longer than in Story Mode and contain 15 Golden Brains
instead of the usual 10. Please be sure to note that cash, weapons, and
upgrades DO NOT carry over from Story Mode.
All options available in Story Mode are available in Director's Cut with the
exception of Extra Mutants (it's permanently turned on here).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D. Mini Games
There are three different mini games to choose from: Money Shot II, Stayin'
Alive, and Victim Support. For more information, see the mini games section
(roman numeral VIII) below.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E. Option Settings
..............................................................................
1. Player Controls
There are four settings here:
Danger Cam Mode
This can be set to Always On, Always Off, or Toggle. Danger Cam allows you to
use the Wiimote to move the camera a little bit in order to look around. I
strongly recommend keeping it on.
Target Rumble
This can be set to On or Off. If target rumble is on, the Wiimote will vibrate
whenever you are aiming at something you can shoot.
Crosshair
This can be set to On or Off. If it is on, you will have a target reticule on
screen so you can see exactly where your shots will land. You can turn this
off if you want a more "authentic" light gun experience.
Aim Calibration
This is used to calibrate the Wiimote to make your shots more accurate when
playing without a crosshair. To calibrate, you just aim at the targets and
pull the trigger. You are then presented with three target dummies so you can
test the calibration.
..............................................................................
2. Audio Settings
Here you can change the audio level of the music, sound fx, and movies as well
as toggle subtitles on/off.
..............................................................................
3. Delete Profile
This option allows you to delete a profile. Be absolutely sure, once it's gone
there's no getting it back!

IV. Basic Gameplay
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Controls
There are two control schemes to choose from, but unfortunately there's no
option to change the button mapping :(
Wii Remote
Control Pad: Optional Danger Cam Toggle
B Button: Shoot/Select
A Button: Reload/Return
+ Button: Grenade
- Button: Pause
1 Button: Change Weapon
2 Button: Change Weapon
Wii Zapper
Control Stick: Optional Danger Cam Toggle
B Button: Shoot/Select
A Button: Reload/Return
Z Button: Change Weapon
- Button: Grenade
C Button: Grenade
In both modes, you can reload by either moving the cursor off screen or
shaking the controller.
If you are using the Nyko Perfect shot, I recommend using the Wii Remote
control scheme.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. Items
There are four different items you will encounter during gameplay. To collect
an item, simply shoot it. Shooting an item will NOT break your combo.
..............................................................................
1. Slo Mo Fo Mode
This looks like a bright green molecule model (you'll know what I mean once you
see one). Shooting a Slo Mo Fo will cause time to slow down for a few seconds,
making headshots much easier to pull off.
..............................................................................
2. Golden Brain
There will be 10 Golden Brains in every level of Story Mode and 15 in each for
Director's Cut. These are worth bonus points. Be sure to note that in order
to get the achievement, you need to get ALL the brains in a single playthrough!
..............................................................................
3. First Aid Kit
Shooting a First Aid Kit will restore two bars to your life meter.
..............................................................................
4. Grenades
Shooting these will add one grenade to your inventory. Grenades are wonderful
for taking out a large group of mutants.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Cash
You use cash to purchase upgrades and new weapons in the Gun Shop. Cash is
NOT shared between Story Mode and Director's Cut but the one time bonuses are,
i.e. if you earn the $1,337 "Gangster Style" bonus in Story Mode you can't
do it again for Director's Cut (yes, it is a horrendous design decision).
You can earn cash three different ways:
1.) By making a level's high score list. The bonuses are as follows:
1st Place: $1,000
2nd Place: $500
3rd Place: $400
4th Place: $300
5th - 10th: $200
2.) High Score bonuses. In addition to making the high score list, if you
score high enough, you'll get a high score bonus. Each level has a total of
$5,000 (shared between the two modes).
3.) Achievement bonuses. Completing various achievements to unlock the
unlockables will also net you some cash. Here is a partial list:
Complete all level's in Director's Cut: $2,200
Collect all Golden Brains in Director's Cut: $2,000
Kill 50 mutants Gangster Style: $1,337
Complete all levels in Story Mode: $1,200
Complete any level in Dual Wield: $1,000
Achieve a 2 minute Goregasm: $500
Achieve a combo of 50 in any level: $500
Shoot 2000 mutants across all levels: $500
Complete Papa's Palace Of Pain with 70% accuracy in Director's Cut: $400
Complete Jailhouse Judgment 3 times: $300
Make 70 leg shots: $250
Shoot 50 mutants in the head: $200
Special Thanks go to bort and btaylorstl for their posts on the GameFAQs
message boards explaining the cash system!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D. General Strategies
- Be sure to reload whenever there's a break in the action.
- You can build up combos by avoiding damage and not missing shots. The combo
meter in the upper left has five levels, every level means kills are worth
more points.
- Head shots not only do more damage, but are worth more points.
- When upgrading weapons ALWAYS upgrade a gun's Reload attribute first.
- The Automatic Shotgun is far and away the best weapon in the game, buy it
as soon as possible.
- Shoot projectiles (knives, bottles, etc.) to avoid taking damage.
- I received an email from GAS pointing out that to easily extend your combo/
goregasm, simply find a bottle throwing mutant, then just sit there and
just shoot the bottles!

V. Story Mode
Note: For this walkthrough, I had the Extra Mutants option turned OFF.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Papa's Palace Of Pain
You will start this level in the kitchen. After you kill the first mutant,
a second one will break through the door. Once you take him down, you will
spin left and see a female mutant making her way towards you.
After entering the game room, look to the right, you will see the game's first
Golden Brain. Shoot it to collect it, then take out the two mutants. Once
they are dead, you'll spin right, take out the mutant coming through the door.
Some mutants will now crash through the window. Once they are down, a group
will burst through the door.
Once you enter the door, look to your left and shoot the Golden Brain. Then
look right, see that green thing? That's a Slo Mo Fo power up, shooting it
will cause time to slow down for a brief period. Shoot the two mutants and
you'll move to the right side of the room.
If you look at the couch on the left, you'll see a First Aid Kit, shoot it
to restore two bars to your health meter. After taking care of the mutants
that crashed through the windows, two more will come through the door. You
will automatically dive under the desk, when you come out the other side,
shoot them. You will then spin to your right and see a mutant coming at you.
As you enter the foyer, you will see mutants banging on the door and windows
trying to break in. When you turn around, quickly take care of the mutant
coming down the stairs. The mutants will then break through the door. When
you retreat up the stairs, shoot the chandelier, it will fall on the group
and take them out with one blow. Be sure to get the Golden Brain.
Take out the mutants coming down the steps. You will then head up and to
the left. When you look behind, DO NOT SHOOT, you will immediately turn
around, so you'll most likely miss and break your combo!
Once you enter the room, you will turn around and face the door. Shoot the
two mutants, you'll spin and find another mutant directly in your face.
Once he's down, you'll spin again and face two more mutants.
When you turn to face the fireplace, first shoot the mutant coming out from
under the bed, then get the Golden Brain. Shoot the mutant that came out of
the fireplace. You'll spin and see two more mutants coming at you, again DO
NOT SHOOT, you'll immediately turn around and head outside.
Once outside, shoot the mutant on the balcony. You'll then look down at a
fountain. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then take out the mutants with headshots.
When you turn and look into the boarded window, shoot the First Aid Kit, then
the mutant. When you turn left, a mutant will burst through the door.
When you head through the door, immediately shoot the Golden Brain on the
left, then take out the mutant crawling towards you. You will then be attacked
by several mutants from several directions.
Once you exit the room, you will be attacked from the room on your right.
When you turn left, shoot the Golden Brain, then kill the mutant that came
sliding in. After you kill the mutant attacking you from behind, you'll see
a large group coming at you, once again DO NOT SHOOT, you'll instantly turn
and run away.
You will now be outside. First, shoot the Slo Mo Fo on top of the fountain.
Next, shoot the Golden Brain on the lower right. Now take out the mutants.
When you look through the boarded window, shoot the First Aid Kit first,
then take out the mutant on the right.
While you are moving around the balcony, a mutant will burst through the door.
After entering the room you'll be attacked by several mutants. When entering,
the next room, you'll see a quick glimpse of a Golden Brain. Don't worry,
you'll have another opportunity to collect it momentarily. In the bathroom,
shoot the Slo Mo Fo first, then take care of the mutant coming out of the
bathtub.
When you turn around, shoot the mutant bearing down on you, then the Golden
Brain, then the other mutant. After a taking out a couple more mutants, the
ceiling will start to shake. Two fat mutants will fall through and attack you.
After taking care of them, another mutant will come through the fireplace.
After leaving the room, you will see your first civilian. Kill the fat
mutant before he kills her to score 5,000 bonus points. After leaving the
area, you'll see a short scene where a severed head rolls down the stairs.
Once you head up the stairs and enter the hall, there will be a single mutant.
You will then enter a room with another civilian. Shoot the two mutants
attacking her, then quickly shoot the Golden Brain on the right. Take out the
rest of the mutants in the room.
After the hallway where Agent G explains you're dealing with mutants not
zombies, you'll head into a room on your left. After taking care of the
mutants here, you'll head back into the hallway and make your way to the
elevator.
Upon exiting the elevator, you'll head into a room with two mutants lying on
a pair of tables. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the left, then the mutants. You'll
spin right and be attacked by a fast moving female mutant, then rushed by
two more.
You'll head across the hall to a room where a couple of dead men are chained.
After clearing this room, you'll head to another where the mutants are
"disposing" of some bodies. Take care of them.
When you leave the meat grinder room, you'll encounter the final civilian
on this level. First shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the lower left, then take out
the two mutants. When you turn, shoot the final Golden Brain (be very careful
not to kill the civilian) and take out the three mutants. When you turn,
take out the last three mutants to clear the path for the civilian.
You'll now head down the hall for an encounter with Papa Caesar and Jasper ...
..............................................................................
Boss: Jasper
Jasper starts out by levitating in the middle of the room. He will be
surrounded by debris. This debris will block most of your shots and he will
also send objects flying in your direction, shoot these to avoid taking any
damage.
Start out by shooting Jasper, your shots will only do a tiny bit of damage.
After a bit you will move, and G will yell "shoot him". At this point a red
circle will appear around Jasper's head. This circle will appear in all boss
fights and indicates a weak point. If you shoot him in the head, Jasper will
stagger back and one of the objects floating around him will drop to the floor.
If you aren't fast enough he will throw objects at you, shoot them like before.
After Jasper loses all of his objects, you will move again and Jasper will
again be surrounded by debris.
After this, Jasper will begin chasing you around the room. Repeatedly shoot
him in the head, making sure to shoot any body parts he throws at you. Jasper
shouldn't take too long to die at this point.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. Ballistic Trauma
Start off by taking out the two nurses. The "patient" will then wake and come
after you. After examining the table, you'll turn around and see two mutants
crashing through the windows. You will also see a Golden Brain through the
windows on the right side, you need to shoot it NOW. Afterwards, you'll do a
180 and see another mutant crash through the door.
When you go through the door, a mutant will be standing on the table, it will
through knives at you (these can be shot to avoid taking damage). You'll then
turn left and see a mutant coming through the door. When you turn around, two
mutants will crash through the window.
As soon as you enter the door, shoot the Golden Brain on your right, then
quickly take out the charging nurse. After a few steps, you'll turn right and
see a scary looking woman, ignore her and shoot the grenades instead. When you
turn right, another nurse will be charging you. You'll turn again and see
another mutant right in your face.
After making your way through the door, you'll encounter the level's first
civilian. Quickly take out the mutants that are attacking him. When you turn
around, you'll have another doctor coming towards you. You'll then head into
the elevator ...
There will be two fat mutants waiting when the elevator door opens. You'll
take a few steps, then turn left to see a female mutant burst through the
doors. When you turn right, quickly shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then the two
charging nurses. When you turn left, two doctors will be coming at you.
When you enter the room, there will be two "patients" on the left. Take them
down while they are climbing out of bed. You'll turn around and see two more,
then two fat mutants on your right.
When you turn around, there will be two mutants slowly coming towards you.
You'll then glance right, then left, on the left is a Slo Mo Fo. You'll
sidestep right and see two more patients. When you do a 180, a doctor will
charge you, directly behind him is a First Aid Kit.
To his left will appear a mutant, he'll jump through the window. You'll see
a Golden Brain on your right (if you miss it, don't worry, you get another
crack at it soon). You'll then see a REAL patient strapped to the bed, shoot
the two mutants to save him.
Upon turning right, you'll see two mutants crash through the windows. You'll
walk up to the window, then turn around to see two nurses. You'll then back
up to get a running start (if you missed the Golden Brain, here's your second
chance). You'll then jump out the window.
While sliding, you'll see some grenades on your right. Once your on you're
feet, shoot the Slo Mo Fo on your right, then take out the two mutants that
dropped down. When you turn right, shoot the pair of mutants before they can
climb over the wall. On your right, you'll see two more mutants, then you'll
encounter two fat mutants. After you turn around and see another mutant
climbing over the wall.
Shortly after the chopper crashes, you'll be attacked by two female mutants.
You'll then do a quick 180 and glance right, there's a Golden Brain here
(shoot QUICKLY). When you face left, you'll be attacked by four mutants.
Wait until you are past the window before shooting the two nurses (and the
grenades on your right). You'll walk forward, then turn left and see two
more patients. Between the next set of beds is a First Aid Kit. When you
turn around, there'll be two more patients.
You'll turn around and see two fat mutants with cleavers. When you come to
the doors, a fat mutant will burst through. When you go through the door,
shoot the two doctors first, then the Slo Mo Fo. When you turn, quickly kill
the three mutants.
A group of three female mutants will burst through the door. When you make
your way through the next door, shoot the doctor, then the Golden Brain right
behind him. After entering, you'll turn right and see the final civilian on
the level. Shoot the two mutants before they reach him.
You'll go forward a short ways, then encounter two more patients. When you
come to the door, you'll be attacked by two mutants. You'll then come to
another walkway blocked by a nurse. You'll walk next to a cubicle with glass
windows, on the left side is a Golden Brain that's only visible for a brief
moment.
Four fat mutants will come after you. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the right, then
mow them down. When you go through the door, you'll turn left. There will be
a doctor, nurse, and First Aid Kit. When you turn around, there'll be two
female mutants in your face.
On the stairway will be a knife throwing mutant. At the bottom of the stairs,
you'll turn right. Inside the doorway will be two mutants and a Golden Brain.
You'll turn around and see a doctor and a nurse. A knife throwing mutant will
appear above you, then a doctor and nurse will charge through the door.
At the bottom of the stairs you'll turn to see one more knife thrower. Then
two female mutants will burst through the double doors. When you turn around,
there will be grenades.
Once inside the morgue, you'll turn left and see a mutant bearing down on you.
Three mutants will emerge from the cubby holes. Afterwards two mutants will
hop through the windows followed by three more from the cubby holes. You'll
see a mutant and a Slo Mo Fo through the window. In the next room, you'll be
attacked by five mutants.
As you approach the double doors, a nurse will charge you from behind. When
the doors open, you'll be attacked by a fat mutant. Be sure to shoot the
Golden Brain in the upper left. When you go through the next set of doors,
a doctor will be standing there. You'll then turn to see a charging nurse.
Once through the doors, a lone mutant will walk towards you. You'll then turn
left, shoot the fat mutant and then quickly shoot the Golden Brain behind him.
Before you get to the next door, a mutant will burst through. Inside this room
is another fat mutant and the level's final Golden Brain. When you look left,
a mutant will approach. You'll now head through the double doors to face the
boss.
..............................................................................
Boss: Screamer
As soon as you wake up, you'll see the Screamer with a red circle around her.
You'll also notice a yellow bar above her red life bar. This yellow bar is
her "stun" meter, most bosses have them at some point. If you hit a boss in
his or her weak point, the stun meter shrinks, once it disappears, the boss
will be staggered and its attack interrupted. The goal is to stun the boss
before you take damage.
The Screamer will make her way towards you in a zig zag pattern, shoot her
until her stun meter is gone to avoid taking damage. Afterwards, she'll
disappear. If she does make it to you, she'll grab onto you; quickly shake
the Wii remote to throw her off.
Once she reappears, her stun meter will have refilled. She'll summon some
minions to attack. Alternate between shooting the Screamer and the mutants.
She'll keep summoning more mutants until her stun meter is gone.
The Screamer will once again disappear and reappear with a full stun meter.
Shoot her as she makes her way towards you. when she next appears, there
will be four nurses standing in front of you. You will see the Screamer
jumping from body to body, only shoot the nurse she is currently possessing.
After she goes down, kill the other three nurses.
These are her only three attack patterns, just keeping plugging away until
she goes down for the count.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Carny
Past the police car is a mutant clown kneeling on the ground. After he's
dead, the two mutants lying on the ground will come to life. You'll turn left
and see two women being chased by a pack of three clowns. After taking a few
steps, you'll do a 180 and see two fat mutants charging you.
Wash will tell you that someone is on the roof. Several mutants will drop
down and attack. You'll walk forwards and face a booth, there will be
grenades on the left. A mutant will pop up from behind the counter. When you
turn right, there will be a female mutant in your face and several more behind
her.
You'll turn left to see the level's first civilian. Shoot the mutant before
it reaches him. You'll then move forward. Shoot the fat mutant before he can
throw the oil drum, then shoot the Golden Brain behind him. Three more mutants
will then appear.
After a few steps forward, you'll run into a pair of mutants with axes. You'll
move on looking right, then left. On the left is a First Aid Kit. You'll
glance behind then up ahead. You'll see three clowns and a Slo Mo Fo. If
you look closely at the skull in the background, you'll notice one of the eyes
is a Golden Brain. After a quick 180, three mutants will approach.
As you walk towards the skull, two mutants will jump down from the left.
Afterwards, a group of civilians being chased by clowns. After turning right,
you'll see the level's second civilian. Shoot the fat mutant before he reaches
her. When you turn around, you'll see a Golden Brain on the left (it's still
possible to shoot the it through the flames after the explosion). After the
explosion, three mutants will come through the doorway.
After leaping over the wall, there'll be a First Aid Kit at your feet. Upon
turning right, you'll see several mutants approaching. After walking forward
a few steps, several mutants lying on the ground will stand. On your left is
a Golden Brain. After a few more mutants, you'll see an explosion.
Shoot the mutant charging you before he can grab you. If he manages to reach
you, shake the Wiimote to shake him off. You'll see a mutant crawling towards
you. When you do a 180, shoot the Slo Mo Fo and any mutants you see.
At the top of the stairs is a First Aid Kit. When you look over the edge,
take pot shots at any mutants you can make out from amongst the flames. When
you turn left, shoot the closest mutant first, then the Slo Mo Fo, then the
other two mutants. When you turn left again, on the other side of the boat
will be a single mutant that throws bottles. (Don't worry about accidentally
shooting any of the passengers, they're already dead.) When you turn left
once again, you'll see two clowns. You'll then turn right and see a mutant
charging you. You'll walk around to the other side of the boat and be attacked
by a group of mutants.
When you jump down, you'll see a woman screaming, she's not included in the
civilian count, so her safety isn't a concern. You'll walk forward and be
attacked by several mutants from both sides. You'll make your way through
the trailers, fighting mutants along the way.
After the trailers, you'll see a large banner that says "Boosters". A football
player will burst through, he can only be damaged by shooting his chest. After
the second footballer, several mutants will drop down. You'll turn left and
see a pair of mutants. When you turn right, shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then take out
the mutants.
When you enter the building, shoot the Golden Brain then the footballer.
You'll turn left and see a footballer crawling towards you. Behind him a
mutant will burst through the wall and charge. You'll do a 180 and see a
second mutant charging.
After exiting the building, you'll turn left and see a stage. There will be a
large number of mutants and a First Aid Kit. When you spin, you'll see two fat
mutants with oil drums. When you face the stage again, a civilian will appear.
Shoot the two mutants before they can reach her. You'll walk forward, then
turn left and see two footballers.
When you face the stage again, be sure to shoot the Slo Mo Fo first. Take out
the bottle thrower on the stage, then the rest of the mutants. You'll then hop
up onto the stage and turn around. Shoot the mutants before they can throw
anything. The level's fourth civilian will then limp on screen. Shoot the
two mutants before they reach him.
You'll now walk up to a carousel. Start off by shooting the Golden Brain at
the bottom, then the bottle throwing mutant. You'll turn left and face two
more mutants. After turning again, there's a First Aid Kit on the left.
Shoot the three mutants that pop up from behind the counter. You'll then face
the carousel again and take on two more groups of mutants.
Upon turning left, shoot the Slo Mo Fo in the top right. Take out the large
group of mutants. Two clowns will pop out of a booth on the right. You'll
then side step right and face three more mutants.
You'll now come upon the level's fifth and final civilian. Shoot the mutants
as they are walking down the steps. Inside the arcade, you'll come across
a First Aid Kit, then turn right and see some mutants. After a few more groups
of mutants, you'll come across a Golden Brain.
After exiting the arcade, there'll be grenades on your right. You'll be
attacked by two fat mutants with oil drums, followed by some clowns. You'll
then board the haunted house ride. The skeleton decorations can be shot for
bonus points. You'll see a Golden Brain about halfway through.
After "exiting" the ride, two fat mutants will burst through the door. After
a few steps, you'll see a First Aid Kit. After leaving the building, you'll
take out several mutants, then see a ride explode. You'll take out some
mutants, then walk forward. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the left, then take out
the large group of mutants. After a few more groups, you'll see two fat
mutants with oil drums, to the right of them is a Golden Brain. You'll then
be swarmed by a large number of mutants. Right before the boss is a final
First Aid Kit.
..............................................................................
Boss: Nigel and Sebastian
Once the battle begins, N&S will head right for you, aim for the weak point
until the stun meter is drained. They will walk away then head back towards
you, when the red circle appears, fire away. N&S will head towards you a
third time, keep hammering away on that weak point.
After a total of five attempts to attack you, the action will pause for a
second, at this time N&S will summon clowns to their aid. The clowns come
from three different directions, first the middle, then the left, then the
right. The clowns will somersault their way towards you, shoot them before
they can damage you. Also note the golden brain that was revealed when the
clowns broke through the middle section, be sure to shoot it. There will be
a first aid kit on the RIGHT if you need it.
After the three waves of clowns, N&S will attack again. After you repel this
attack, clowns will drop from the ceiling and toss knives at you, take them
down. There will be continuing waves of N&S and clowns until the boss' energy
meter is nearly gone.
At this point, N&S will try a kamikaze attack, they will jump at you from the
center. The Slo Mo Fo mode will be activated, shoot at the weak point
repeatedly to interrupt the attack. Afterwards, N&S will begin walking towards
you, keep shooting until they are dead.

D. Scream Train
Note: I decided to separate the walkthrough by boxcar, hopefully this makes
it a bit easier to follow.
Additional Note: Even though the status screen says there are three civilians
in this level, there are only two.
BOXCAR 1
A single mutant will stagger out in front of you. You'll take a few steps,
then do a 180 to see two mutants pop out of the lockers. When you turn around
you'll see a mutant and some grenades on your right. You'll look up to see a
monster crawling on the roof. This is the Crawler, the level's boss. When
you turn left, shoot the Golden Brain on top of the lockers, then the two
mutants. After taking a couple of steps, a mutant will open the door and
charge. You'll turn around and see a mutant in an orange prison jump suit
drop down. Another one will follow. You'll turn and see a mutant climb out
of the box, after he's dead you'll exit the boxcar.
BOXCAR 2
A mutant will pop up from behind the crate on the left, shoot him before he
has a chance to throw knives at you. You'll do a 180 and see a mutant charging
you. When you turn around, you'll see two mutants. Shoot the one on the right
first, then the charging fat one. You'll turn around and see the Crawler poke
a claw through the ceiling. When you turn, you'll see a mutant charging. When
you turn again, quickly shoot the Golden Brain on your left, then the charging
mutant. Right before exiting the car, you'll pause and see a female mutant
lumbering towards you.
BOXCAR 3
You'll start the third boxcar by examining some animal corpses. You'll then
look up to see a female mutant charging you. A bottle throwing mutant will
pop up on your right, then you'll turn to see two mutants charging you. When
you turn around again, a mutant will slowly stand. Now's your chance to shoot
the Golden Brain that's behind the screen on your right. You'll do a quick
180 and see two more mutants charging you. You'll walk forward a few steps
and see a mutant stand.
BOXCAR 4
There's a First Aid Kit on the upper right. A pair of mutants will get out of
their seats and walk towards you. After a couple of steps, two more mutants
will stand up. Be careful, the second one is a knife thrower! After taking
a couple of steps, an explosion will blow the door off the hinges and send it
flying towards you. When you stand up, shoot the two mutants before they have
a chance to stand. When you reach the edge of the boxcar, shoot the Golden
Brain in the upper right, then the mutant before he can begin throwing knives.
You'll then leap over to the next boxcar.
BOXCAR 5
There aren't any more items in this boxcar, just concentrate on shooting the
mutants as they appear.
BOXCAR 6
A mutant will hop out of his seat on the left. As you walk forward, you'll
examine the damage to the boxcar. When you stop walking, shoot the Golden
Brain in the top right, then the two mutants. The door will then open and a
mutant will charge through.
BOXCAR 7
As soon as you step into the boxcar, there will be grenades on a seat on your
right. Two mutants will appear. You'll walk forward a few steps, then be
charged by a female mutant. A mutant will then stand up. You'll turn to see
two mutants charging. You'll turn again and see a mutant right in front of
you. Quickly shoot the Golden Brain on your right. Upon turning left you'll
see a mutant and a First Aid Kit.
BOXCAR 8
When you step into the boxcar, you'll turn right and see a mutant standing.
You'll walk forward and see a couple of mutants appear. Shoot the Golden Brain
on the left.
BOXCAR 9
A couple of mutants will pop out of the compartments. You'll take a few steps
and see a couple more. The door will be locked so you'll head for the stairs.
Shoot the mutant at the top of the steps. After climbing the stairs, take out
the fat mutant before he can stand. The next door will be locked too. You'll
do a 180 and see a mutant charging. You'll soon come across the level's first
civilian. Shoot the two mutants that come through the door on the left before
they can reach him. Shoot the mutant lying on the ground, a mutant will then
drop through the ceiling. You'll then climb up the ladder to the roof.
ROOFTOPS
Shoot the two mutants before they can finish crawling out of the hatches.
You'll walk a few steps then turn to see a mutant charging. You'll look down
a hole, then turn to see the Crawler. You'll jump down the hole to avoid his
claw.
BOXCAR 10
Shoot the Golden Brain on the right first, then the two mutants, then finally
the First Aid Kit. You'll take a few steps, then a mutant will pop up from
behind the counter while a second one charges you. Just before you exit the
boxcar, a mutant will pop out.
BOXCAR 11
Shoot the Golden Brain on the left. A mutant will stand. You'll take a few
steps, then turn to see a female mutant charging. You'll continue walking
forward and see another mutant. After a few more steps, another mutant will
appear. You'll do a 180 and see a mutant charging. After descending the
stairs, shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the right, then the mutant behind the counter.
You'll turn right and see a mutant charging. After a few steps, you'll turn
left and see a mutant pop up from behind the counter. You'll then turn left
and see a mutant charging.
When you turn around, the level's second civilian will appear. Shoot the two
mutants that are chasing him. You'll walk past the civilian to see a mutant
charging. After a few more steps, a mutant will pop out. Right before the
exit, one more mutant will stand up.
BOXCAR 12
The Crawler will burst through the ceiling. This time you'll be forced to
fend him off! Shoot the joints indicated by the red circle, you'll have to
reduce his stun meter a total of three times to drive him off.
BOXCAR 13
A mutant will be standing there in front of you. There's a First Aid Kit on
your right. You'll make your way past the specimen tanks, fighting mutants as
you go.
BOXCAR 14
There will be a mutant on your left. As you pass the second door, you'll see
a mutant and the level's final Golden Brain. You'll walk forward and see a
mutant drop. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the left, then take him out. You'll do
a 180 and see two more mutants. You'll walk through the screen door. Even
though Wash is very excited by all the weaponry, there's no way to for you to
use them. You'll face two more mutants before climbing the ladder. After
killing one final mutant, you'll head for your showdown with the Crawler.
..............................................................................
Boss: Crawler
Note: While it's possible to beat Crawler with the magnum, having the SMG or
assault rifle makes it a whole lot easier.
The Crawler will start off hanging on the side of the train. Shoot the weak
point indicated (you want to hit the joint where the arm bends) until the stun
meter is gone, this will cause him to fall off.
The Crawler will reappear on the other side of the train. Again, quickly
attack the weak point to stun him. You will have to do this three times before
he falls off the train. He will then switch sides again, stun him three times
to knock him off. He will keep repeating this pattern until his energy is
nearly gone.
At this point, he will jump on top of the train. His weak point will now be
his head, just keep firing until he dies.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E. The Fetid Waters
Start off by shooting the Golden Brain. Two mutants will come alive and
attack. You'll do a 180 and see two more mutants. As you make your way
towards the swamp, another mutant will stand and attack.
The level's first civilian will appear in the water. Shoot the mutant on the
right that's chasing him. As you walk towards him, you'll turn right and see
a female mutant. When you turn left you'll see the civilian and a First Aid
Kit behind him. Two mutants will rise from beneath the water, shoot them to
rescue the civilian.
You'll progress some more and encounter two mutants. You'll then take some
more steps and encounter two more. When you reach the dock, two more will
appear.
When you hop up on the dock, you'll turn left. Shoot the Golden Brain, then
the mutant climbing out of the water. You'll take a few steps and turn to see
three more mutants. When you step off the dock, two mutants will rise from
beneath the water and attack.
After hopping onto the second dock, shoot the mutant in the rear before he can
throw a knife, then take out the other two mutants. Right before you can
reach dry land, a fat mutant will appear.
When you step onto the bank, you'll be attacked by mutants from both sides.
You'll walk forward and see some rats chomping on a corpse. Shoot the Golden
Brain before being attacked by mutants from all sides. A civilian will burst
from the trailer and run off to safety. Shoot the two mutants that came
running out after her. A couple more mutants will appear.
You'll turn to look at a trailer. Inside is a First Aid Kit. There will be
several mutants here. On the far right is a Slo Mo Fo. You'll then hear a
civilian calling for help. After taking out a few mutants, you'll reach her.
Shoot the two mutants emerging from the shadows to rescue her.
You'll turn and see three knife throwing mutants. You'll be attacked by two
more groups of mutants before the level's third civilian appears. Shoot the
two mutants, then the First Aid Kit.
You'll turn to the right to see several mutants coming from the woods. You'll
turn around and be attacked by a few more. There will be a Golden Brain in the
trunk of the car. After turning left, you'll see three more mutants.
When you turn around, shoot the Slo Mo Fo and the two mutants. You'll turn
left to face three more mutants. You'll be attacked by a couple more mutants
then come to a cabin.
Shoot the mutant standing in the doorway. After taking out the mutants in the
cabin, you'll step back outside. There will be several mutants here as well
as a difficult to see Golden Brain in the background. You'll then turn left
and see two more mutants.
After hopping in the boat, two more mutants will appear in the water. As you
start down the river, there will be four mutants and a First Aid Kit on the
right. When you turn around, there will be a civilian in front of a cabin.
Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on top of the cabin, then carefully take out the mutants.
There will then be another group of mutants chasing another civilian. (Neither
of these count towards the civilian total, but you still don't want to shoot
them accidentally and lose points!) On the capsized boat is a group of mutants
and a Golden Brain. You'll then turn to see three mutants in the water.
When you exit the boat you'll be attacked by a single mutant. If you look up
in the trees, you'll see a Golden Brain. You'll be attacked by mutants from
all sides as you make your way down the path.
At the end of the path you'll see a short cinema of a mutant vomiting, this is
a Puker. Pukers will charge and try to grab you. You have to be careful, if
you shoot a Puker in the torso, it may explode and damage you. Shoot the
Golden Brain, then the Puker (aim for the head). Another Puker will appear,
next to him is a First Aid Kit. After several more, you'll turn to see a dock.
Shoot the Puker that is charging you, then the mutants climbing out of the
water. You'll come across a house with a large number of vultures in the
front yard. After taking care of them, you'll walk towards the house. A
couple of mutants will burst through the front door. Upon entering, you'll
look right, quickly shoot the mutant and the Golden Brain behind him. In the
next room is a Slo Mo Fo and a few mutants. After a bit, you'll see a First
Aid Kit. You'll then encounter the level's final civilian. Shoot the two
mutants to rescue her.
You'll make your way through the rest of the house, fighting mutants as you go.
When you exit, a group of mutants will burst through the cellar door. After
seeing another mutant in the woods, you'll come across an outhouse with a
mutant inside. After listening to G's amusing observations, it's time to fight
the boss.
..............................................................................
Boss: Lobber
Note: Having the SMG or Assault Rifle makes this battle much easier!
The Lobber is so named because he attacks by lobbing bombs at you. The idea
is to shoot them before they are thrown, this will stun him, giving you a
chance to hit him in his weak point. He begins the battle by pulling the
bombs out of the water, you will see a small red circle indicating where they
are.
After he throws a few bombs, he will send bats after you. You will start
moving away from them, shoot them before they get too close. Be sure to get
the golden brain that's on your left.
After the bat chase, you the Lobber will resume his attack. This time he
will be grabbing bombs off of his back instead of from the water. There will
also now be bats to contend with. Just keep plugging away and you shouldn't
have any trouble.
Note: If you are looking for extra points, you can drag out the boss fight
by NOT shooting the lobber when he's been stunned by an exploding bomb.
Concentrate on shooting the bats and keeping your combo going.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F. Jailhouse Judgment
While walking towards the police car, you'll see a Golden Brain, go ahead and
shoot it now before the mutants appear. You'll turn left and see two mutants.
You'll then walk forward and see a policeman with a riot shield. The shield
is bullet proof, you have to wait for him to move the shield before he attacks
to shoot him. Behind him, a mutant will stand up and charge. You'll turn
around and see two more mutants. After taking a few steps, you'll turn right
and see three mutants. When you turn around, there'll be three more. When
you turn again, there'll be two mutants running towards you on the ground level
and a knife thrower up above.
After climbing the steps, you'll turn to see a mutant burst through the door.
Behind him is another mutant with a riot shield. You'll do a 180 and see two
mutants charging you. A few steps more and you'll turn right to see several
mutants approaching. After you take a couple of steps, you'll glance at the
cell on the left, there's a Golden Brain inside. When you look through the
window on the right, a mutant will pop up.
Upon turning left, you'll see a mutant charging. When he's killed, two fat
mutants will appear. After walking a few steps forward, you'll look right and
see several mutants approaching. You'll move on and see the level's first</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
civilian. Shoot the two mutants before they can reach him.
You'll turn left and see several mutants approaching. Be careful, the guard
behind the bars will throw knives and is difficult to hit. You'll walk
forward and turn right to see a cell door open. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then the
arm, then mutant himself. When you turn, shoot the approaching mutants.
You'll turn right and see two mutants burst through their cell doors. You'll
take a couple of steps and see some more mutants appear. There will be a
Golden Brain in the open cell on your right.
The camera will look up and to the left to watch two mutants jump down. You'll
then look up to see a helicopter flying overhead. You'll then be attacked by
a large number of mutants from both sides. After making your way forward,
you'll hear the level's second civilian calling for help. You'll have to deal
with the two mutants that are attacking you before you can help her. When you
face the window again, shoot the two mutants before they can reach her.
A mutant will break through the door on your left. You'll then do a 180 and
see two mutants and a Golden Brain. You'll walk forward and see two mutants
burst through the door of the guard station. You can see some grenades through
the window. When you walk forward, two mutants will burst through the door in
front of you. You'll look left and see of mutants trying to break through the
bars.
As you walk forward, you'll be attacked by several waves of mutants. When you
look into the room on your left, you'll see a Golden Brain, First Aid Kit, and
several mutants. When you try to leave the room, you'll be attacked by several
more mutants.
When you walk down the hallway, mutants will burst through the doors on both
sides. You'll walk forward and stop, then be attacked by several mutants.
After climbing the stairs, you'll look right and see a large group of mutants.
You'll then do a 180 and see two more mutants. You'll then spin and see two
more charging you. Inside the next room is a Golden Brain and several mutants.
After a few more mutants, you'll look out the window and see Varla and Papa
Caesar.
When you turn around, you'll see two mutants charging you. As you are about
to exit the warden's office, you'll see several mutants charging. You'll look
left and see a couple of mutants. When you step inside, you'll see a Puker and
a First Aid Kit. After being attacked by several more mutants, you'll see the
level's final civilian hiding in a locker. Shoot the two mutants before they
can reach him.
When you exit the room, you'll be attacked by mutants from both sides. While
you are descending the stairs, you should see a Golden Brain in the background,
go ahead and shoot it now. When you reach the bottom, you'll be attacked from
all sides. As you walk forward the mutant slumped over the table will come to
life.
In front of you will be a First Aid Kit and several mutants. As you exit the
cafeteria, you'll look left and see a mutant stand. Two mutants will burst
through their cell doors and attack. After them one more mutant will open his
door, there's a Golden Brain in his cell. Right before you can walk up the
stairs, you'll spin and see two mutants charging.
When you reach the top of the stairs, you'll look right and see a couple of
mutants standing. When you spin, you'll see a Slo Mo Fo and be attacked by
several mutants. You'll be chased by several mutants as you make your way to
the exit. You'll pause at the top of the stairs and examine the prison yard.
You'll spin and see a mutant right on top of you. After turning, you'll see
a helicopter take out the mutants in the yard.
When you reach the bottom of the steps, shoot the Golden Brain on your right,
then the two mutants that climbed over the wall. You'll look left and see two
more mutants. You'll do a 180 and see several mutants charging you. When you
reach the bottom of the steps, you'll be charged by several mutants. When you
turn to face the dumpsters, shoot the Golden Brain on the right, then the
mutant hopping out of the dumpster.
You'll be attacked by several more mutants as you head for the door. You'll
look into the distance and see a LARGE group of mutants running towards you.
You'll then head through the door to the boss battle.
..............................................................................
Boss: Brutus
Note: Having the SMG or Assault Rifle makes this battle much easier!
Thanks to Brutus, there's only one boss to deal with here, but it's still a
tough battle. You'll notice two first aid kits, save them until you need them,
there's also a grenade on the floor, get it as soon as possible, you're going
to need it later.
Brutus' weak point is his hand. Whenever you see the red circle, shoot his
hand repeatedly until you stun him. If he stops and there is no circle, it
means he is going to fire arrows at you, shoot them with your weapon to avoid
damage.
After a while, Brutus will make his way to the middle of the room. At this
point he will summon four riot police to his aid. Brutus will fire a couple
of arrows, then the riot police will advance a few steps and stop. Then Brutus
fires, the police advance and so on. Use your grenade on them after they stop
the second time to take them out. If you don't have a grenade, you will have
three options: while they are entering the room, part of their sides will be
exposed, while they are advancing, their feet will be exposed, or you can wait
until they get right on you, then quickly shoot them when they move
their shields to attack you.
These are Brutus' only three attack patterns, really the only thing you have to
worry about are the riot police.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G. Overkill
As soon as you step off the elevator you'll be attacked by a group of six
mutants. You'll then turn right to see a door open and four mutants burst
through. If you look to the far right using your Danger Cam, you'll see the
level's first Golden Brain. You'll then turn left to see another door open and
several mutants appear. Before you can finish off this group, you'll turn
right and see a couple of mutants. You'll then look back towards the door and
the remaining mutants.
After walking through the door and taking a few steps, you'll stop. The doors
on both the left and right will open and mutants will pour out. You'll take
a quick peek behind you then head through the door on the left.
Inside the room you'll be attacked by four mutants. You'll do a 180 to see
several mutants and a First Aid Kit. You'll turn to see three more mutants,
afterwards you'll turn to see two more. After taking a few steps, you'll see
yet another group of mutants, behind them is a Golden Brain. You'll spin and
see three mutants. After turning right you'll see two knife throwers behind
the table. On the chair to your right are some grenades. Upon turning left
you'll see a mutant charging.
Once inside the next room, you'll see a couple of mutants and a First Aid Kit.
When you turn right, two knife throwers will pop up from behind the counter.
When you kneel behind the counter, shoot the Golden Brain, then the Slo Mo Fo.
Upon standing, take out the group of mutants. A couple more mutants will
appear. You'll take a few steps then find yourself completely surrounded.
After hopping onto the table, you'll spin to face each group of mutants in
turn. After hopping off the table, you'll face three more mutants before
exiting the room.
Right off the bat four mutants will attack. You'll turn to see a large group
of mutants, then turn again to see a couple more. On the right is a Slo Mo Fo.
When you turn, shoot the Golden Brain then the mutant. You'll turn again and
face three more mutants. You'll walk forward a few steps before two knife
throwers appear. When you peek inside the cubicle on your left, you'll see
two mutants and a First Aid Kit. After doing a 180, you'll crawl around to
the side of the counter. Right before you stand, you'll see some grenades.
Be careful, the two mutants here are knife throwers. You'll turn and see a
couple more mutants before leaving the room.
There will be a LARGE group of mutants in the hallway (just begging for you to
toss them a grenade). You'll head through a door into another hallway. When
you look through the window on the left you'll see a Golden Brain. You'll then
turn and be attacked by mutants from both directions. Upon turning, you'll be
facing the window on the right. There will be several mutants there as well
as some grenades on the left. You'll then turn to see two female mutants
charging you. They'll be followed by two more mutants. There's nothing in the
window on your left, but on your right are several mutants and a Slo Mo Fo.
You'll then turn to see three more mutants charging.
You'll enter another hallway and take quite a few steps before turning to see
a large group of mutants. You'll duck into a room and close the door behind.
On the left is a First Aid Kit. Two knife throwers will pop up from behind the
table in back. Another one will then pop up right in front of you. As you are
exiting, three mutants will rush through the doorway.
In the next room is the level's first civilian. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then the
two mutants. After the civilian runs off, several mutants will rush through
both of the doors. In the next room is a Golden Brain and three mutants.
You'll then exit the room and head down the hall to the elevator.
Immediately after "exiting" the elevator, you'll be attacked by a large group
of mutants. Inside the next room are several mutants. If you look to the far
left with your Danger Cam, you'll see a Golden Brain. After taking a few steps
a large group of mutants will attack.
When you turn left, shoot the Slo Mo Fo in the back, then the two mutants
climbing out of the pool. You'll turn left to see another group of mutants.
In front of you will be a First Aid Kit. You'll turn right to face the pool,
it contains several mutants. Now's the time to get the Golden Brain next to
the entrance if you missed it the first time around.
After G "admires" the specimens, you'll be attacked by several more mutants.
You'll then turn right to face the pool one more time and see some more
mutants. When you try to exit the room, the door will open and several mutants
will rush through.
Once you step inside the next room, you'll turn right and see several mutants
and a First Aid Kit. You'll take a few steps and the mutants lying on the
ground will stand. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo then take them out. You'll walk
forward a few steps and see several mutants climbing out of the water. When
you do a 180, shoot the Golden Brain on your right then take out the mutants
before they can stand.
When you turn right you'll see a large group of mutants and a First Aid Kit.
You'll run past, then turn to face them. You'll then head towards the door
and do a 180 to see several mutants attacking. Right before you can exit,
the door will open and a mutant will charge through.
You'll exit the room and head into another one. There will be a civilian
trapped in the incinerator asking for help. You'll do a 180 and see two
mutants come through the doors. On the far left is a Golden Brain. After
accidentally killing the civilian (no way to avoid this), you'll enter the
incinerator and crawl into the vent. There are several mutants in the duct,
but they attack one at a time so they won't pose a threat. When you reach the
end, shoot the cover off the vent, then quickly take out the two knife throwers
below.
When you drop down, you'll be attacked by several mutants. You'll then take a
few steps and be attacked by several more. When you turn left, you'll see a
Golden Brain next to the dead guy on top of the crate as well as several
mutants. When you do a 180, you'll see several mutants and a Slo Mo Fo.
You'll walk forward and turn to see a fat mutant drop down. If you look
closely in the background, you'll see a First Aid Kit. Before exiting the room
you'll be attacked by a few more mutants.
The door leading to the boss is currently locked, so you'll head to the control
room. When you open the door, you'll see a large number of mutants. You'll do
a 180 and see a single fat mutant, then you'll enter the room. You'll take out
a large number of mutants before heading to the next room.
Inside is the level's final civilian. Shoot the two mutants to rescue him.
You'll then be attacked by mutants from both sides. You'll see a First Aid
Kit, then hit the switch to open the door to the boss. When you exit the room
you'll be attacked by one more group of mutants before heading to face the
boss.
..............................................................................
Boss: Mother
You didn't really think it would be that easy, did you? The first thing you
should notice for this boss fight is that you will now be equipped with those
mini-guns that were conveniently lying around. The mini-gun has an awesome
rate of fire and never has to be reloaded. The downside is that it can
overheat, leaving you momentarily defenseless.
As soon as the battle starts, hit Mother in the area indicated by the red
circle. You need to act fast or she will spawn Pukers. If she does drop a
Puker, take it out as quickly as possible. Remember that they can explode if
shot in the torso so aim for their heads!
As you move around, Mother will do either one of two things: try to spawn
Pukers or throw a barrel at you. While she is trying to spawn, simply hit her
in the indicated area, when she throws a barrel, shoot it with the mini-gun.
It's easy to tell which action she will perform: before spawning, she will
turn her back to you and before throwing a barrel, you can see her picking it
up with her claw.
Once you get her energy low enough, she will pluck you with her finger. Once
you wake up, she will stay in one spot and continuously spawn Pukers.
Alternate between shooting Mother in the head and taking out the Pukers. Be
sure to make sure your mini-gun doesn't overheat. You'll notice that your
shots do a lot less damage than before.
Once you beat her, just sit back and watch the absolutely hilarious ending!
Be sure NOT to skip the credits, not only do you get an achievement for
watching them all the way through, at the end is a Kill Bill-esque dialogue
setting up a possible sequel!

VI. Director's Cut
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Papa's Palace Of Pain
You need to shoot the mutant and the Golden Brain on the left immediately. As
you approach the mansion, you'll be attacked by mutants from both sides. When
you reach the fountain, you'll see a flock of vultures chomping on a corpse.
Ignore the Golden Brain for a moment and concentrate on taking out the birds
when they take flight. Once the birds have been taken care of, you'll walk
around the fountain and see a fat mutant stand. When you step backwards, shoot
the Golden Brain, then the two mutants climbing from the fountain. When you
turn to face the mansion, several mutants will jump down.
As soon as you step inside, you'll look right and see the level's first
civilian. Shoot the two mutants before they can reach him. You'll then turn
left to face a fat mutant. When you face right, two mutants will hop over the
table. After taking a few steps, a mutant will crash through the door. When
you open the door on your right, you'll see a large group of mutants.
Inside the next room is a large group of mutants around the table. Once they
have been taken care of, three mutants will burst through the windows. Four
mutants will then rush through the door on the left. You'll then dive under
the table to take on the four mutants that crashed through the windows. A
group will rush through the door. You'll do a 180 and see a fat mutant. When
you turn right, a large group will come through the door. Right before exiting
the room, you'll do a 180 and see four mutants charging.
Upon entering the room, you'll be attacked by four mutants. Right afterwards,
three more will crash through the windows. When the group rushes through the
door, look left to see a Golden Brain. Mutants will then swarm from every
entrance and chase you through the rooms you previously visited.
When you open the door to the next room, a couple of mutants will be standing
there. When you actually enter the room, shoot the Golden Brain on your right,
then the two mutants. You'll then do a 180 and see several mutants walk
through the door. After walking up to the pool table, you'll be attacked by
several more mutants. You'll then drop to your knees and see a fat mutant
crawling towards you. When you stand and face the door, it will open and three
mutants will walk through.
Immediately upon entering the room, shoot the charging mutant. Then shoot the
Slo Mo Fo on your right, then the Golden Brain on your left, then the remaining
two mutants. You'll walk forward a few steps, then turn left to see two
mutants crash through the windows. When you turn, you'll see three mutants and
a First Aid Kit. You'll turn again to see another mutant come through the
window, then turn again to see two more. The door will open and you'll dive
under the desk to take out the three mutants that came through. You'll turn
right to see two more mutants before you can exit the room.
Several mutants will be banging on the doors and windows trying to break in.
You'll do a 180 and see a mutant walking down the stairs. You'll spin again
and see a large group of mutants break through the front door. When you
retreat up the stairs, look up and shoot the chandelier, then the Golden Brain
behind it. You'll turn to see a group of mutants coming down the steps, then
turn again to see a second group. At the top of the steps, you'll walk forward
then turn to see several mutants following. You'll flee into the next room.
You'll stop and do a 180 to face the pursuing mutants. You'll then turn and
take on two groups of mutants inside the room. When you are facing the bed,
shoot the Golden Brain, then the two mutants. You'll then turn and see two
mutants enter the room and chase you onto the balcony.
On the balcony will be two mutants. When you look down upon the cemetery,
shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then take out the mutants. When you turn and look through
the window, shoot the First Aid Kit, then the mutant. You'll then turn left
and see a mutant burst through the door.
Once inside the room, shoot the two mutants and the Golden Brain. A mutant
will then crawl out of the fireplace. You'll then turn left and see three
mutants. You'll then turn right and see three more.
In the next room shoot the Golden Brain above the door, then the mutant.
You'll take a few steps back and be attacked by two mutants. Be prepared to
do a 180 and take out a fat mutant that'll be right on top of you.
After walking into the next room, you'll see two mutants. Two more mutants
will then walk in. If you look to the far left, you'll see a First Aid Kit.
When you head into the hallway, a mutant will crash through the door on your
right. When you turn left, shoot the Golden Brain, then the mutant that comes
sliding on screen. You'll do a 180 and see two mutants. You'll then be chased
by a group of mutants down the hall and out onto the balcony.
When you look down at the fountain, shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then take out the
mutants. When you look through the window, shoot the First Aid Kit, then the
mutants that come through the door on the right. Before you can enter the
door, it will fly open and several mutants will come through.
Once inside the room, you'll be attacked by several mutants from every
direction. When you head into the next room, you'll head into the bathroom.
Shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then the mutant climbing out of the bathtub. When you do
a 180, shoot the mutant coming towards you, then the Golden Brain on the right,
then the other mutants. You'll turn left and see several mutants approaching,
Upon turning right, a mutant will crash through the window. The ceiling will
then shake and three fat mutants will fall through. When you turn right, there
will be two more mutants.
After exiting the room, you'll look down and see the level's second civilian.
Shoot the three mutants before they can reach her. You'll then walk down the
hall and open a door to see a severed head rolling down the stairs.
After climbing the stairs you'll head through a door and into a hallway with a
couple of mutants. In the next room is the level's third civilian. Shoot the
three mutants before they can reach her, then shoot the Golden Brain on the
right. You'll take a couple of steps before two mutants appear. You'll then
turn and see three more. Before you can exit the room, two mutants will appear
in the doorway.
You'll walk down the hall and head into the room on your left. There will be a
couple of mutants in front of you. You'll take a few steps and see a couple
more. You'll then take a couple more steps and see two more mutants. You'll
then turn to see two more mutants and a Golden Brain. In the background will
be a knife thrower. After doing a 180, you'll see three more mutants. Before
exiting the room, you'll be attacked by three more mutants.
Once in the hallway, you'll be attacked by three mutants. You'll then spin and
see three more. You'll take a few steps and look into the room on your right
and see several mutants. You'll then dash into the elevator, if you are quick
you can take out the three mutants before the door closes.
When you wake up, you'll walk down the hall and into the room on your left.
Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the far left, then the two mutants rising from the
slabs. You'll turn to see several mutants charging, then turn to see three
more.
In the next room, shoot the charging female mutant, then the Golden Brain, then
the other two mutants. You'll turn left to see three more mutants, then turn
right to see three more. You'll then turn left to see an additional two
mutants. When you do a 180, you'll be charged by several mutants.
When you enter the room across the hall, you'll see several mutants disposing
of some bodies. After taking care of them, you'll be attacked by several more
before heading into the hallway. In the hall will be the level's final
civilian. Shoot the Slo Mo Fo on the left, then the approaching mutants.
You'll then turn, shoot the Golden Brain, then the mutants (be VERY careful,
the civilian will run into your line of fire). Then take out one final group
of mutants. The civilian will head off to safety while you head for a
confrontation with Papa Caesar and Jasper.
..............................................................................

Golden Brain in a sink on your right. You'll run forward a few steps, then
turn right to see the Screamer pop up. Ignore her and shoot the grenades
instead. You'll then do a 180 and see a knife thrower behind the window. When

you'll get a second chance shortly). The level's third civilian will then
appear. Shoot the two mutants before they can reach him. You'll then turn
right to see two mutants break through the windows. You'll approach the
windows, then do a 180 to see a group of mutants approaching. You'll then head
back to get a running start (here's your second shot at the Golden Brain), then
leap through the window.
While you are sliding, you will see some grenades. When you stand, shoot the

standing in the doorway. You'll then glance around the room. When you walk
while facing the window, be ready, you'll only have a brief moment to shoot the
Golden Brain once you round the corner. When you turn, you'll see a Slo Mo Fo
and several fat mutants.
When you exit the room, you'll turn left and see a large group of mutants and

..............................................................................
These are her only three attack patterns, just keeping plugging away until
she goes down for the count.

group. After taking a few steps forward, you'll spin and see a lot of mutants
jump down. You'll then turn to see a fat mutant followed by a couple more
mutants as well as some grenades.
You'll walk forward and encounter another flock of vultures. Once they are
gone, the "corpse" they were munching on will rise. When you approach the
"Roosters" banner, a football player will burst through. He can only be killed
by shooting him in the chest. When you take a few steps backwards, two more
footballers will appear. A group of mutants will drop down. You'll then turn
left and see several mutants. When you turn right, shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then
take out the large group of mutants.
When you walk inside, shoot the Golden Brain, then the footballer. You'll then
turn left to see two footballers crawling towards you. A mutant will then
burst through the wall and charge. You'll do a 180 and see another mutant
charging. When you walk outside, you'll see some grenades, then turn left.

walking down the steps to rescue her.
As you are walking through the arcade, you'll see a First Aid Kit. You'll then
turn right to see a couple of mutants. A single mutant will then charge.
After taking a few steps you'll turn left to see a group of mutants. After a
couple more steps there will be a female mutant and a Golden Brain. You'll
then head to the right and exit the arcade.
As soon as you leave the arcade, you'll see some grenades. You'll then turn
left to see two fat mutants with oil drums. Three clowns will then drop down.
When you turn right, you'll see a couple of clowns and some grenades. When you
step backwards, a group of mutants will appear.
As soon as you board the ride, shoot the Golden Brain on your right. The
skeleton decorations can be shot for bonus points. Most of the mutants on the
sides are harmless, but shoot them any way for points. About halfway through
the ride is another Golden Brain. Right before the cart jumps the tracks
you'll see a third Golden Brain.
When you exit the ride, several mutants will break through the door. On your
way outside, you'll see a First Aid Kit. When you stop you'll see several
mutants and some grenades. You'll approach the knife booth and see a knife
thrower will pop out. You'll then witness a ride explode, then see three
mutants approach. When you round the corner, you'll see a Slo Mo Fo, a
charging mutant, and a large group in the background. When you face left, two
mutants will emerge from the flames. You'll then spin to see three more
mutants. When you turn right, you'll see two fat mutants with oil drums. In
the distance is a Golden Brain. You'll then have to deal with the rest of the
mutants before heading off to face Nigel and Sebastian ...
..............................................................................
Boss: Nigel and Sebastian
Note: There is a Golden Brain visible, be sure to collect it before the battle
ends!

You'll begin the third boxcar by viewing several corpses. A female mutant will
then charge you. You should be able to see a Golden Brain on your right.
You'll be attacked by a knife thrower, then turn to see two more mutants. A
few more will attack before you are able to exit the car.
BOXCAR 4
When you enter the next car, you will see a First Aid Kit in the upper right.
You'll be attacked by three mutants, then walk forward and be attacked by two
more. After taking a few steps forward, you'll witness an explosion and duck
out of the way to avoid the oncoming door. Take out the next two mutants.
When you come to the end of the car, you'll stop. Shoot the Golden Brain on
the right, then the knife thrower. You'll then jump onto the next boxcar.
BOXCAR 5
The only item in this boxcar is the Golden Brain you already shot before
leaping over. Just kill the mutants and make your way to the next car.
BOXCAR 6
Kill the mutant and you'll start walking forward. You'll survey the damage
to the right side of the car. At the end, shoot the Golden Brain on the right,
then the two mutants. Another mutant will charge through the door.
BOXCAR 7
As soon as you enter the seventh car, there will be grenades on your right.
You'll be attacked by mutants from both directions, then head to the next car.
BOXCAR 8
There's a Golden Brain on your right as soon as you enter. You'll turn left
and see a mutant and First Aid Kit. You'll then head up the steps to the
Disco Room. There is a Golden Brain on your left. Take out the knife thrower.
You'll walk forward and see four mutants dancing, they'll ignore you but the
knife thrower on the left won't. After killing him, the music will stop and
the dancers will head towards you. When you turn right, shoot the Golden Brain
then the two bottle throwers. When you turn around, there will be another
Golden Brain on your left. The level's first civilian will then appear.
Shoot the mutant to save her. You'll then head down the stairs and into the
next car.
BOXCAR 9
There will be a mutant on your right. Two more will then appear. You should
see a Golden Brain on your left. Shoot the next mutant and you'll exit the
car.
BOXCAR 10
Two mutants will burst from the compartments and attack. You'll move forward
and encounter two more mutants before exiting the car.
BOXCAR 11
A mutant will pop out. The door labeled "Private" is locked, so you'll head up
the stairs. Shoot the mutant at the top of the steps. When you round the
corner, shoot the fat mutant before he can stand. The next door labeled
"Private" is also locked. You'll do a 180 and see a mutant charging. You'll
move on a bit and see a civilian on your left. Shoot the two mutants before
they reach him. When you step into the room with the civilian, look to the
far left with your Danger Cam to reveal a Golden Brain. After shooting the
mutant, you'll do a 180. In the lower left is another Golden Brain that is
camouflauged by the flames. Shoot the mutant and you will turn around to see
another mutant appear in front of you. When you turn right, you'll see a
mutant charging. Two more will follow him.
BOXCAR 12
In the next boxcar, kill the mutant lying on the ground. Another one will
then drop from the ceiling. You'll then climb the ladder up onto the roof.
BOXCAR ROOFTOPS
</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
Kill the mutants before they can exit the hatches. You'll then do a 180 and
see two mutants charging you. The Crawler will then appear and you'll jump
down the hole.
BOXCAR 13
You'll see the claw coming through the hole, then turn around. Shoot the
Golden Brain and First Aid Kit on the right. Take out the two mutants. A
knife thrower will pop out from behind the counter and two mutants will charge.
You'll walk through the door and a mutant will pop out.
BOXCAR 14
Shoot the Golden Brain on the left, then the mutant that is standing up.
You'll walk forward, then do a 180 to see a female mutant charging you. When
you go forward, two more mutants will pop out. You'll then do a 180 and see
a mutant charging you. After descending the stairs, shoot the Slo Mo Fo, then
the mutant behind the counter. When you turn right, shoot the two charging fat
mutants. You'll turn left and see a mutant behind the counter. You'll turn
left again and see two mutants charging. The level's final civilian will then
come running into the room. Shoot the two mutants that are chasing him.
You'll walk past him and see a mutant charging. After a few steps, a mutant
will pop out, then you'll turn left and see one more.
BOXCAR 15
In the next boxcar, the Crawler will once again break through the ceiling.
This time, however, you have to fend him off. Shoot the joint of his claw
(indicated by the red circle) to reduce his stun meter. You have to fully
deplete it three times to scare him off. When you open the door, you'll see
a mutant standing there and a First Aid Kit on your right. You'll look at the
specimen tank then turn around to see a mutant. As you make your way past the
tanks, you'll be constantly attacked.
Boxcar 16
Shoot the mutant in the first compartment. Past the next door is a mutant and
the level's final Golden Brain. After the next mutant, shoot the Slo Mo Fo on
your left. You'll turn to see several mutants approaching. After the screen
door, Wash will get very excited about the armory you've stumbled upon
(unfortunately, there's no way to collect or use any of the weapons here).
You'll turn and see a mutant pop out. When you turn right, a mutant will drop
down. After climbing the ladder, you'll turn right and have to kill one last
mutant before the boss.
..............................................................................

E. The Fetid Waters
You'll begin by walking forward, glancing right, then up ahead. Once you are
facing forward, quickly shoot the Golden Brain before the mutants appear. The
mutants lying on the ground will stand. You'll then do a 180 to see three more
mutants. When you walk down the hill towards the swamp, you'll turn to see a
couple of mutants.
Once you reach the swamp, the level's firs civilian will appear. Shoot the
three mutants before they can reach him. You'll walk forward, then turn right
to see a female mutant. When you turn left, you'll see the civilian and a
First Aid Kit. Shoot the three mutants to finally rescue him. You'll then
turn right to see a couple of mutants. You'll then move on and turn left to
see three mutants rise from the water.
When you reach the dock, three mutants will appear. After hopping onto the
dock, you'll turn left to see a mutant and a Golden Brain. You'll walk forward
a few steps, then spin to see several mutants. When you step off the dock,
several mutants will rise from the water. When you step onto the next dock,
you'll turn left and see three knife throwers. Right before you step onto dry
land, a fat mutant will appear.
When you reach dry land, you'll turn left to see two mutants, then turn right
to see three more. When you walk forward, you'll see a pack of rats munching
on a corpse and a Golden Brain. When the rats flee, the corpse will rise and
be joined by two more mutants. You'll turn to see several mutants, then turn
again to see several more. When you enter the trailer, you'll see a Golden
Brain. When you look left, you'll see two mutants and another Golden Brain.
You'll turn and see several mutants. As you are backing out of the trailer,
you'll see a First Aid Kit.
After exiting the trailer, you'll turn left and see several mutants. You'll
then glance right and see two mutants emerge from the trailer. Two female
mutants will then appear. If you look to the far right, you'll see a Slo Mo
Fo. You'll then hear the level's second civilian calling for help. Four
mutants will appear in front of you. You'll walk forward, then do a 180 to see
four mutants approaching. When you turn left, shoot the three mutants emerging
from the shadows to rescue the civilian.
You'll do a 180 to see a group of mutants and a Slo Mo Fo. You'll then be
swarmed by a large group of mutants. After taking a few steps, you'll look
right to see another group of mutants. You'll then see the level's third
civilian and a First Aid Kit. Shoot the three mutants before they can reach
her. You'll then turn right to see several mutants emerging from the woods.
Several more mutants will then attack.
After turning, you'll see a Golden Brain in the trunk of the car. You'll walk
forward and turn left to see a group of mutants. You'll turn right to see
another group and a Slo Mo Fo. After a few more steps will be another group of
mutants. When you crawl under the car, you'll see a Slo Mo Fo and yet another
group of mutants. You'll then turn left to see another group and a Golden
Brain. When you turn right, you'll see four more mutants. Upon turning left,
you'll see another Golden Brain.
After climbing over the cars, you'll be attacked by several mutants. You'll
move on and spot a group of mutants running away. When you look inside the
cabin, you'll see a single mutant. Once inside the cabin, you'll be attacked
by mutants from every direction. Before you can exit, you'll have to take out
the two mutants blocking your path. When you exit, you'll turn right and see
two mutants as well as a hard to make out Golden Brain in the distance. Two
mutants will then climb out of the water. You'll turn left and see two more
mutants.
After boarding the boat, several mutants will appear in the water in front of
you. When you begin moving, you'll look right to see a group of mutants and a
First Aid Kit. When you look at the cabin, you'll see a civilian (he doesn't
count towards the civilian tally), several mutants and a Slo Mo Fo. You'll
then move on to see another civilian (who also doesn't count) being chased by
several mutants. Several knife throwers will then appear in the water. On the
capsized boat is a group of mutants and a Golden Brain. When the boat stops,
you'll be attacked by several knife throwers.
When you exit the boat, two mutants will appear. While walking down the path,
if you look up in the trees, you'll see a Golden Brain. You'll make your way
down the path while being attacked by mutants from all sides.
When you come to the end of the path, you'll see a cinema of a mutant vomiting.
This is a Puker. Pukers will charge and try to grab you. Be careful when
dealing with Pukers, if you shoot them in the torso, they will explode and
damage you. Shoot the Golden Brain, then shoot the Puker in the head. When
you turn right, you'll be charged by a Puker. On your left will be a couple
more Pukers. You'll encounter three more before leaving the area.
When you reach the bridge, you'll see a charging Puker and several mutants
climbing from the water. There will be a large flock of vultures in front of
the house. When you approach the front door, several mutants will burst
through. When you enter the house, you'll glance right to see two mutants and
a Golden Brain. In the hallway you'll see three mutants. In the next room are
several mutants and a Slo Mo Fo. When you glance right, you'll see a First Aid
Kit. The level's final civilian will then appear. Shoot the mutants to rescue
her. You'll make your way through the house, fighting mutants as you go. In
the cellar is a Puker and a Golden Brain. When you climb out of the cellar,
you'll turn to see a group of mutants climb out after you. You'll walk forward
a few steps, then turn right to see a single mutant. After taking out the
mutant using the outhouse, it'll be time to face the boss.
..............................................................................
Soon after entering the parking deck, you'll be attacked by four mutants.
You'll then hop over a car and be attacked by a police officer in riot gear.
His shield is bullet proof, you have to what for him to attack and move his
shield before shooting him. There will be three mutants right behind him.
You'll then turn right to see three more mutants. After taking a couple of
steps, you'll be attacked by four mutants. You'll do a 180 and be attacked by
four more mutants. When you turn right, there will be a Golden Brain in the
lower right corner. You'll be charged by three mutants while a knife thrower
attacks from the balcony.
After climbing the steps, you'll turn right to see a door fly open and two
mutants walk through. You'll then do a 180 and see a group of mutants run
through the other door. After taking a few steps, you'll then turn right and
be attacked by a large group of mutants. While walking forward, you'll glance
into a cell on the left to see a Golden Brain. You'll then look right and see
some grenades through the window. A mutant will then pop up from behind the
counter. When you turn left a mutant will charge. Immediately afterwards
three fat mutants will appear. After taking a few steps, you'll turn right to
see a group of mutants approach.
After a few more steps, you'll turn right and see a First Aid Kit and the first
civilian of the level. Shoot the two mutants to rescue him. When you turn
left you'll be attacked by a large group of mutants. Be mindful of the knife
thrower behind the bars, he can be difficult to hit.
Upon walking into the cell block, you'll turn to see a door open. Shoot the
Slo Mo Fo, then the thrown arm, and finally the mutant. When you spin, you'll
be attacked by two waves of mutants. You'll then turn right to see two cell
doors open and two mutants walk out. After a couple of steps, two more doors
will open to reveal two more mutants. You'll then turn to see three mutants
charging. In the cell on your right is a Golden Brain. When you look up and
to the left you'll see two mutants jump down while a third charges you. A
short cinema of a helicopter flying overhead will then play.
A large group will then attack. When you are about half done with the group,
you'll do a 180 to see a second group attack. Afterwards, you'll spin to face
the remnants of the original group. After walking through the doorway to the
next area, you'll glance right then left. You'll see a door open and a couple
of mutants walk through. When you enter the room, the mutant lying on the
floor will stand. Two fat mutants will enter from the right. You'll then spin
to see two more mutants. When you look right, a Puker will charge, followed by
two more mutants. After a couple of steps two more mutants will appear. When
you peek around the corner on your left you'll see a fat mutant crouched down.
You'll then do a 180 to see several mutants charging. When you turn left
you'll see a single mutant stand. You'll then quickly turn to see a Golden
Brain. As you make your way out of the shower area, a single mutant will
appear in the doorway.
After walking for a bit, you'll hear the level's second civilian call for help.
You'll have to deal with two attacking mutants before you can help her. When
you spin, shoot the five mutants coming through the door to rescue her. You'll
then turn left to see a mutant break down a door, then spin to see a group of
mutants approaching. Behind them is a Golden Brain.
Upon entering the next area, you'll see two mutants emerge from the guard
station. Through the window you'll see some grenades. You'll take a few steps
then see two mutants break down a door. While walking forward, you'll glance
left to see several mutants trapped behind bars. You will then pause and be
attacked by a large group of mutants. You'll take a couple of steps before
being charged by two more mutants.
When you turn left you'll see a Golden Brain, a First Aid Kit, and three
mutants. When you enter the room, you'll be charged by two mutants. You'll
then do a 180 to see a fat mutant charging. Right before you exit the room,
two mutants will appear in the doorway.
When you enter the hallway, you'll be attacked by a group of mutants. You'll
take a few steps, then be attacked by another group of mutants. After climbing
the stairs, you'll turn right to see a large group of mutants. You'll then do
a 180 to see three mutants, then spin again to see three more. After entering
the warden's office, you'll turn right to see several mutants and a Golden
Brain. After taking out two more groups of mutants, you'll see Papa Caesar
and Varla running across the prison yard.
A mutant will then charge, followed by two more mutants. Before you can exit
the office, a large group of mutants will charge. When you turn left, you'll
see several more mutants. Upon entering the room, you'll turn left to see a
Puker and a First Aid Kit. Several fat mutants will then charge. You'll then
spin to see a single mutant. The level's third civilian will be hiding in a
locker. Shoot the two mutants coming through the door on the left to rescue
him.
When you exit the room, you'll glance right, then left to see four mutants
approaching. You'll then do a 180 to see three mutants attacking. After
spinning again, a large group of mutants will charge. You'll take a few steps,
then turn to see a charging mutant followed by two more.
After descending the stairs, you'll turn to see a single mutant. A Puker will
then charge, followed by two fat mutants. Behind them is a Golden Brain.
You'll do a 180 to see a single mutant drop down. After taking a few steps,
the fat mutant slumped over the table will come to life. You'll then turn to
see several mutants and a First Aid Kit. Before exiting the cafeteria, you'll
turn left to see a single mutant.
Upon entering the next area, you'll turn to see two mutants break down their
cell doors. You'll then turn to see another mutant break down his door, inside
his cell is a Golden Brain. Just before climbing the stairs, you'll turn right
to see three mutants charging.
After climbing the stairs, you'll turn right to see the two mutants lying on
the ground rise. You'll do a 180 to see a single mutant, then turn right to
see a Slo Mo Fo and several mutants. After another 180 you'll see two more
mutants, then spin again to see another large group.
When you reach the door, you'll survey the yard, then do a 180 to see a couple
of mutants. You'll then turn to see a brief cinema of a helicopter strafing
the prison yard. When you reach the bottom of the steps, you'll see three
charging mutants as well as a Golden Brain on your right. You'll then turn
left to see several mutants approach. When you reach the stairs, you'll spin
to see several mutants charging.
At the bottom of the stairs will be a large group of charging fat mutants.
You'll then turn right to see two mutants jump down. when you turn to face the
dumpsters, you'll see two mutants and a Golden Brain. Two more mutants will
then attack. When you approach the door, a Puker and a couple more mutants
will run through. You'll then turn to see a large group of mutants approach.
Upon entering the building, you'll turn left to see several mutants trapped
behind bars. You'll then spin to see a couple of mutants charging through the
doorway. When you look through the window, you'll see a mutant and a First Aid
Kit. You'll then turn to see several mutants approaching.
When you enter the next room, you'll see a Golden Brain. You'll then be
attacked by mutants from all directions. Eventually two police officers will
jump down. You'll walk forward a few steps, then see three fat mutants
charging. After doing a 180 you'll see several more charging. When you look
through the window, you'll see some grenades. You'll then turn left to see
several mutants approaching.
Inside the laundry room is a Slo Mo Fo. Two mutants will then attack. You
should see a Golden Brain on your right. You'll then see a single mutant, then
do a 180 to see a group approaching. After spinning again, a Puker will
charge. Behind him are a couple more mutants. When you turn left, you'll see
three knife throwers on top of the ramp.

a few more steps another group of mutants will appear.
When you come to the intersection you'll glance left and right before a mutant
opens the door in front of you. After discovering the gate is locked, you'll
head up the stairs. At the top are several mutants. When you look left you'll
see a First Aid Kit and a Golden Brain.
When you enter the infirmary, a Puker will charge. Behind him is a single
mutant. You'll look left to see a nurse, then walk a few steps before a doctor
appears. A large group of mutants will then charge. The level's final
civilian will then limp into the room. Shoot the two mutants to rescue her.
When you exit the room, several mutants will appear. You'll head down the
stairs and face one last mutant before reaching the boss.
..............................................................................
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G. Overkill
As soon as the level begins, kill the group of six mutants before they can
attack. You will then turn right. A group of four mutants will come through
the door. If you look to the far right using your Danger Cam, you'll see the
level's first Golden Brain.
You'll turn left and see a large group of mutants coming through the door.
After you kill a couple of them, you'll turn right and see three attacking you.
After dispatching them, you'll turn around and be able to finish off the
remaining mutants.
Once you are through the door, you'll be attacked by a slew of mutants. When
you enter the next room, you'll be attacked by four mutants. You'll turn
around and see another group, there will be a First Aid Kit on your right.
You'll turn around and see a group of three mutants and some grenades.
When you encounter the next group, if you'll look at the left of your screen,
you'll catch a glimpse of a Golden Brain behind a mutant. When you turn to
your right, two knife throwers will pop up from behind the table. When you
face left, a mutant will charge you.
After entering the next room, you'll be attacked by three mutants (be sure to
get the First Aid Kit). You'll then be attacked by three knife throwers.
When you are crouched behind the counter, first shoot the Golden Brain, then
the Slo Mo Fo a the top of the screen. When you stand, be prepared for an
onslaught of mutants. You'll walk forward and suddenly be surrounded, don't
bother shooting while you are spinning, wait until you hop on the table to
begin mowing down mutants.
When you enter the next room, take out the four mutants. You'll glance left
(don't shoot) then right (shoot these two). Behind the curtain is a Slo Mo Fo.
When you turn around, shoot the Golden Brain and the mutant. You'll turn right
and face four more mutants.
After you proceed forward a few steps, you'll see two mutants, take them out
before they start throwing knives. Beyond the door is the level's first
civilian. Shoot the three mutants to save him. You'll look left, then left
again. Shoot the mutants and the First Aid Kit. You'll do a 180 then crawl
around the side of the desk. Shoot the grenades, then the two knife throwers.
Two more knife throwers will appear.
When you turn around, take out the two slow moving mutants. When you step
through the door, be prepared to fend off a LOT of mutants (use a grenade if
necessary). When you go through the next door, look left for a Golden Brain
(if you miss, you'll get a second chance shortly). Fend off the attacks from
all directions.
You'll walk a few steps, on your left is another Golden Brain (again, you'll
get a second chance if necessary). On the right will be a Slo Mo Fo. You'll
walk through two doors and enter another room. Directly in front of you (in
the back of the room) is a Golden Brain covered by a vent with a Slo Mo Fo
above it (you'll get a clear shot at these later). Take out the attacking
mutants.
When you climb the stairs, you'll see two knife throwers with a Golden Brain
between them. You'll turn around and be attacked. You'll then head back
downstairs, now is the time to get the Golden Brain and Slo Mo Fo you saw
earlier. Finish off the mutants here.
You'll walk through a door and turn to see a large group of mutants in pursuit.
You'll head into another room and close the door behind you. Get the First
Aid Kit that's on the left. After taking out the three mutants that pop up,
you'll head into the next room. Here is the level's second civilian, shoot the
Slo Mo Fo, then the three mutants to save him.
Mutants will enter the room from opposite sides, take them out! In the next
room is a Golden Brain and three mutants. You'll exit the room and head into
the game's final elevator.
After jumping from the elevator, you'll be attacked by a large group of
mutants. As soon as you enter the next room, look up, there is a Golden
Brain in the distance. Take out the mutants and another wave will appear on
your right.
When facing the pool, shoot the Slo Mo Fo in the back of the room, then take
out the mutants coming out of the water. More mutants attack from the left
(be sure to get the First Aid Kit). You'll turn right to see more mutants
emerging from the pool.
After G "admires" the specimens, you'll be attacked by a group of mutants.
You'll then do a 180 and see MORE mutants coming from the pool. Be sure to
get the Golden Brain off in the distance, it's hard to see and easy to miss.
You'll head to the door only to have mutants burst through. After going
through the door, you'll see a Golden Brain on the right (you won't be able
to shoot it till later). You'll then turn right and see some mutants (be sure
to get the First Aid Kit). You'll turn left and see mutants standing up, be
sure to get the Slo Mo Fo in the distance.
You'll turn left and be attacked by some mutants. When you turn around, it's
now possible to shoot that Golden Brain you saw when you first entered the
room (look to the right with your Danger Cam). Take out the mutants. You'll
then move past a group of mutants, when you turn around shoot them and the
First Aid Kit on your right.
A mutant will charge you through the door. When you enter, you'll hear a
woman yelling. She'll run out the room (since she didn't need your help, she
doesn't count as a rescued civilian). When you turn to face the mutants, there
is a Slo Mo Fo in the lower left. After battling some mutants, you'll rescue
a civilian trapped behind the counter. After she's rescued (or killed), you'll
do a 180. Shoot the Golden Brain, then the knife throwers.
When you exit the room, you'll be attacked by some mutants in the hallway. In
the next room, you'll see a man trapped in the incinerator. When you turn
around, shoot the Golden Brain on the far left first, then the two mutants.
(There is no way to rescue the man, so his death doesn't count against your
civilian tally).
The vent is very easy, the mutants come at you one at a time. When you arrive
at the end, shoot the grate, then the Slo Mo Fo, then the two knife throwers.
When you land, you'll be attacked by a single mutant, then turn left to face
a couple more.
You'll walk forward and be attacked by a few more mutants, then turn left.
On top of the crate there is a dead man and next to him is this level's final
Golden Brain. Shoot the three mutants as they are standing up.
When you do a 180, you'll be attacked by some charging mutants, the Slo Mo Fo
on the left is helpful. You'll spin and see a mutant drop from a vent, in
the far distance is a First Aid Kit. When you turn around, a group of mutants
will charge through the door.
The door leading to the boss is currently locked. The next room is absolutely
filled with mutants. In the following room is the level's last civilian.
Shoot the two mutants to save him. You'll be attacked by some more mutants.
Next to the dead security guard is a First Aid Kit. After unlocking the door
to the boss, you'll exit the room. You'll be attacked by one final group of
mutants before you can make your way to the end of the level.
..............................................................................
Once you beat her, just sit back and watch the absolutely hilarious (and
disturbing) ending!
Be sure NOT to skip the credits, not only do you get an achievement for
watching them all the way through, at the end is a Kill Bill-esque dialogue
setting up a possible sequel!

VII. Weapons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Overview
You start the game with just the AMS Magnum, but more weapons can be purchased
at the Gun Shop.
Each weapon has five attributes:
Recoil: Determines how much your aim is altered after firing a shot.
Fire Rate: Determines how fast you can fire shots.
Clip Size: Determines how many rounds you have before you need to reload.
Damage: Determines how much damage your shots do to enemies.
Reload: Determines how long it takes to reload.
Each attribute has three levels of upgradability: Basic (small gold star),
Silver (large silver star), and Gold (large gold star inside a circle). Some
weapons may have some of their attributes already upgraded when you purchase
them.
In this section, I list all of the weapons in the game, how much they cost
to purchase/upgrade, and give them my own personal rating as to how useful
they are.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. AMS Magnum
Rating: 3/5
Purchase Price: $0

_________________________________
| Attribute | Silver | Gold |
|___________|__________|__________|
| Recoil | $250 | $500 |

| Clip Size | $200 | $400 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Damage | $300 | $700 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Reload | $400 | $800 |
---------------------------------
You begin the game with the AMS Magnum and will be using it for most of the
game. It reloads fairly quickly and upgrades are very cheap. The only real
downside is the narrow blast radius makes aiming a challenge.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Shotgun
Rating: 1/5
Purchase Price: $1,800
Upgrade Price Chart

|-----------|----------|----------|
| Damage | $500 | $1,000 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Reload | $400 | $800 |
---------------------------------
Easily the worst weapon in the game. The fire rate is slow, the clip size is
meager, and the damage not much better than the Magnum. These alone make it
not worth the price, but the reload time is the absolute killer. Each shell is
loaded individually, meaning that the more rounds you use between reloads, the
longer it takes!
The large blast radius makes aiming easier, so in theory it should be good for
racking up combos, but in practice, you'll be taking too much damage while
waiting for the blasted thing to reload.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D. Automatic Shotgun
Rating: 5/5
Purchase Price: $6,500

|-----------|----------|----------|
| Damage | $0 | $1,000 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Reload | $500 | $900 |
---------------------------------
Definitely the best weapon in the game. A high rate of fire, killer damage,
quick reloads, and a large blast radius make this gun a must for any mutant
hunter. The only downside is the high cost of purchase and upgrading, but
it's worth every penny. This is THE gun to use when you want to rack up
combos and high scores.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E. SMG
Rating: 3/5
Purchase Price: $1,225

|-----------|----------|----------|
| Damage | $1,000 | $2,000 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Reload | $400 | $800 |
---------------------------------
A decent automatic weapon. The major plusses are the cheap purchase price and
high rate of fire. The SMG comes in handy in boss fights, especially the
fourth one and beyond. The major weakness comes from the fact that the high
rate of fire means you will miss a lot and therefore won't be able to rack up
combos.

F. Assault Rifle
Rating: 5/5
Purchase Price: $4,600

|-----------|----------|----------|
| Damage | $0 | $1,200 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Reload | $500 | $1,000 |
---------------------------------
Second only to the Automatic Shotgun, the Assault Rifle mows down mutant hordes
with ease. Has a larger clip and does more damage than the SMG, but like the
SMG, don't expect to rack up too many combos with this one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G. Hand Cannon
Rating: 4/5
Purchase Price: $5,500

|-----------|----------|----------|
| Damage | $0 | $0 |
|-----------|----------|----------|
| Reload | $500 | $1,000 |
---------------------------------
The AMS Magnum on steroids! You unlock the Hand Cannon by beating Story Mode.
The big draw is the killer damage rating, one shot kills anything besides a
boss! The only major drawback is the small blast radius, which makes it more
likely you'll miss.
Honestly, while most gamers seem to love this gun, I recommend skipping it and
paying the extra grand for the Automatic Shotgun, it has basically the same
stats, but a larger blast radius.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
H. Minigun
Rating: 3/5
Purchase Price: $15,000
Not as great as you would think. First, you must unlock this gun by beating
Director's Cut. Second, you must then shell out a whopping 15 grand just to
buy it (fortunately it comes fully upgraded). The Minigun has an unrivaled
rate of fire and doesn't need to be reloaded but any advantage is offset by
three fundamental flaws:
1.) While the Minigun never has to be reloaded, it is prone to overheating,
and the wait for it to cool down is longer that it takes to reload a
shotgun!
2.) The Minigun takes a couple of seconds to get up to speed and begin firing,
which can lead to taking unnecessary damage and missed items.
3.) Like all automatic weapons, it's impossible to rack up combos using the
Minigun.

VIII. Mini Games
Note: All mini games can be played with up to four players!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Money Shot II
This is a carnival style shooting game. The object here is to shoot the
targets and get the highest score. You are armed with a magnum that holds
ten bullets at a time (the number remaining is displayed in the upper left
corner of the screen). Just like in the normal game, hitting multiple targets
without missing gives you combos.
Wave 1
Shoot the red targets. There are four total and the move horizontally across
the screen.
Wave 2
In this wave, blue targets are added. Blue targets are harder to hit but
worth more points than red ones.
Wave 3
In this wave, bombs are added to the mix. Shooting a bomb SUBTRACTS points
from your score, so avoid them at all costs.
Wave 4
In this wave, the targets will weave. Pay attention to the tracks so you will
know where the targets are heading.
Wave 5
In this wave, the targets move much faster and the bombs are closer to the
targets.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. Stayin' Alive
This is basically a survivor mode. The goal is to survive all 10 waves of
mutants. You start out with 4:00 on the timer and get bonus time for
completing a wave. On some waves, first aid kits appear. It's also important
to remember that it's possible to rack up combos just like in the normal game.

C. Victim Support
In this game, the idea is to protect the civilians until they can safely
escape. Civilians are color coded (one color for each player) and that player
gets bonus points if his or her civilian makes it through the green exit.
Players are penalized with score deductions for shooting civilians .

XI. Game Review
I've always been a huge fan of light gun games, but unfortunately the genre
seemed to fade with the NES. When the Wii was released, I heard Nintendo was
working on a follow up to Duck Hunt, and I was hoping against hope that this
lost genre might be resurrected.
When Nintendo announced the Wii Zapper, I was absolutely ecstatic, this was
a sure sign that Nintendo was banking on more light gun games being released
for the Wii. Sure enough, shortly thereafter, Capcom announced Resident Evil:
The Umbrella Chronicles. Sega followed suit by announcing House of the Dead
2&3 Returns and Ghost Squad.
Unfortunately, the return of the light gun genre wasn't as auspicious as I
had hoped. The Duck Hunt follow up turned out to be a simple mini-game in Wii
Play. Link's Crossbow Training (packaged with the Wii Zapper) could have just
as well been a mini-game in Twilight Princess. And the Wii Zapper itself
turned out to be a bulky, awkward, overpriced piece of plastic.
The third party games ended up being a much welcomed improvement. Umbrella
Chronicles was built from the ground up for the Wii and was incredible. The
graphics were amazing, the gameplay fun, and the new perspective on the
Resident Evil franchise refreshing. House of the Dead 2 & 3 Returns and Ghost
Squad were faithful ports of the arcade classics. While their graphics
seemed dated compared to UC, they were none the less quite enjoyable to play
and were among my favorite games for the Wii.
Unfortunately, these games were not the commercial successes their developers
had hoped they'd be. Capcom cited sluggish sales of UC as the reason for not
making a Wii version of Resident Evil 5. Sega had expressed interest in
porting House of the Dead 4 to the Wii if 2&3 sold well, but unfortunately it
was overshadowed by the Umbrella Chronicles.
It seemed that the light gun genre was destined to once again fade into
oblivion. A few months ago I was reading a magazine and was stunned to find
an article about a new Wii game from Sega, House of the Dead: Overkill! The
game was set to be released in February 2009 and I was ticking off the days on
my calendar. During the wait, I discovered the Nyko Perfect Shot, vastly
superior to Nintendo's own Wii Zapper.
On February 11th, I went to my local GameStop and picked up my pre-ordered
copy. The wait was finally over, and after only a few seconds of playing,
I knew it had been well worth it!
Sega must have spent a lot of time playing Umbrella Chronicles, the games
are very similar (that's a GOOD thing). The graphics are a VAST improvement
over 2&3. The levels are separated like in UC, once you've unlocked a level
you can choose it from the menu screen. Also like UC, you can take a second
weapon with you. Sega has also made some improvements over UC, all weapons
have unlimited ammo and you have the option of turning off the targeting
reticule.
House of the Dead: Overkill is actually a prequel to the original House of
the Dead. It is about Agent G's very first assignment for the AMS, locate a
fugitive known as Papa Caesar. Along the way he teams up with Detective Isaac
Washington, who has his own reasons for wanting to hunt down Caesar.
I like the new direction Sega is taking the House of the Dead franchise. Gone
is the "tarot" theme of previous games, Overkill is based on the 1970's
grindhouse films. The dialogue and voice acting is also a huge improvement
over previous games. Even with all of these changes, Sega has managed to keep
the core gameplay intact, killing zomb.. I mean mutants, is just as much fun
as ever.
House of the Dead: Overkill is an outstanding title that was well worth the
wait and an absolute must own for the Wii!
Pros
+ The best light gun game for the Wii yet.
+ The dialogue in this game is absolutely hysterical!
+ Some of the best graphics yet on the Wii.
+ Awesome soundtrack.
+ Multiple weapons to choose from.
+ You can choose whether or not you want to have a targeting reticule.
+ Multiplayer.
Cons
- At some times the frame rate is terrible.
- This is one of the easiest games I have ever played.
