1. Introduction
===============
         "1988
 4 people were set free
 On the year as planned

      The year 2000
The evil has come once again
 A tragic event as before"

"People, make your sacrifice."

"The most dangerous enemy that mankind has ever encountered."

"Can you face the fear?"
(Text taken from the game.)

"The House of the Dead 2" (HOTD2) is the sequel to Sega's and AM's
arcade game "The House of the Dead" (HOTD1).  This is a light-gun game
where you play one of two agents (James or Gary) from AMS whose mission
is to make contact with Agent G (a character you play from part one).
Along the way you discover that the city has been overrun with undead
and you proceed to shoot your way through mountains of ghouls, ghasts,
wraiths and other creatures of the dead.  During your ordeal, you
encounter innocents in need of rescuing from the claws of fiendish
horrors that dwell within the bowels of the city.  As you fight through
the land of undead horrors you are told that you need to stop a man
named Goldman, in order to save the day.  While you trek through the
denizens of the dead, you have two other agents, Amy and Harry, who aid
you on your mission (too bad they don't aid you by shooting the
zombies).
This FAQ and walk-through is a strategy guide for people who want
to know about all the routes through the game.  Included is information
on ALL the paths and what it is required to take them.  In addition,
general tips and tactics for getting through the more difficult
portions of the game are listed.  Also included are the locations of
items and which innocents give life-ups.  Plus, a brief description of
the enemies and a guide on how to fight the bosses is written as well.

2. Game Mechanics
=================
HOTD2 is played like other gun games where you shoot at your
enemies with a hand-held plastic light-gun and reload by shooting off-
screen.  Your character carries a six-shooter pistol, called The Gun of
Justice, which you use to blow holes in the varies body parts of the
undead.  There are NO upgrades for your gun so you must learn to make
due with your available firepower.  During your adventure, you
encounter various forms of enemies that either fly, swim, crawl, or run
toward you, so you must be fast and accurate.
You have little choice on the path your character takes; you walk
on a predetermined road.  However, you are allowed to choose your path
at certain instances usually involving rescuing an innocent.  The
different paths offer replay value for those of you who are die-hard
gun game addicts.
All the undead share one thing in common, their weak spot.
Located on the head, it only takes 1-2 shots to finish off any form of
enemy.  This is easier said than done, however, because the game moves
very quickly at times.  Generally, there are plenty of undead to shoot
at and in two-player mode there is even more.
You start off with three health, displayed as flaming copper-
colored torches at the bottom of the screen.  You can gain up to five
health from shooting crates or barrels with life-ups (which appear as
first-aid kits with the word "life") or by rescuing certain innocents
from the undead.  At the end of each chapter you can also gain a life
bonus if you rescue enough innocents.  Unlike HOTD1,  you can only earn
a maximum of one life-up for rescuing innocents.  Of course, once you
run out of life your game is over at which time a map is displayed
showing the route you have taken through the game.  Damage can be
inflicted upon you by the many forms of attacks the undead throw at you
(more on this later) as well as "accidentally" shooting innocents.  You
never take more than one health worth of damage at a time.  A few of
the bosses' attacks have the ability to hit both players at the same
time.
Like HOTD1, your score is not displayed until you complete a
chapter, but in HOTD2 your accuracy is given.  If you score high enough
you will be able to input your initials and they will be saved for
posterity.  This happens only AFTER you complete the game.

3. Machine Type
===============
There are two types of machines that HOTD2 can be played on, the
small cabinet type and the large big-screen version.  Both are exactly
the same except the big-screen version costs more to play.  The small
cabinet type takes one coin to play and the big-screen version two
coins.  Those of you who start with the small cabinet type and move to
the big-screen version will find it hard to reload because you must
move your gun farther to the side.  Those of you who start with the
big-screen version and move to the small cabinet type will find it
difficult to aim precisely.  The small cabinet type offers a sharper
resolution so the graphics are better, but the big-screen version is
easier because the undead are bigger targets.  Beware of the machines
that do not allow you to have more than three health.  These machines
are rare, but if you find one don't play it.

4. Gun Type
===========
The guns are the same small plastic model as the previous HOTD as
well as other gun games by Sega, it is the ANNEX ARM JPN DUAL-ACTION
BLASTER MOD7587 CAL 10mm/12.7mm HE, also known as "Eater, type Thomas
model."  The gunfire for player one is red and for player two, blue.
While playing for the first time, check your gun to see if it is
aligned correctly.  This is not really a problem for most people unless
you switch machines or between player one and two a lot; the alignment
can vary from gun to gun.  HOTD1 players will notice the guns on HOTD2
have a black plastic cover over the barrel; which is helpful if you use
the on-screen reloading trick (see Reloading and Aiming Section).
Tip: Don't play Gunblade or L.A. Machineguns before HOTD2! ~_~

5. Reloading and Aiming
=======================
Remember to maintain a tight grip on your gun at all times; this
keeps your aim from wandering around too much.  Hold your gun at arm's
length and with both hands, so you naturally focus at the point where
your hands meet.  Stand shoulder width apart and squeeze, not pull, the
trigger.  The game will call for good accuracy especially when you
fight chapter bosses.
Some people use an on-screen reloading trick; this is done by
placing a finger in front of the barrel and releasing it after you
reload.  The advantage of this method is that you do not need relocate
your target each time.  When using this method remember to completely
remove your finger before firing.  If your finger is partially in front
of the barrel you shoot completely off target.  This can be troublesome
when you are trying to save innocents.
HOTD2 has something I call "Shadow Reloading."  This means when
the game registers your gun as not pointing at the screen, it reloads
automatically.  This is helpful to know for those of you that use the
standard reloading method or for beginners.
I also suggest you develop what I call a RAPID-FIRE-FINGER.  You
can get this by playing any side-scrolling shooter.  I personally got
this ability from Ghostbusters (arcade version), does anyone remember
that game?  Try to build up your speed so you can shoot 4-6 bullets in
about 1/2-3/4 of a second.

6. Clothes and Health Care
==========================
Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes that allow free movement of
your arms.  It is also important to wear clothes that won't get too hot
since you will be moving a great deal and you may become overheated.
Take breaks every two hours and drink plenty of soda.  Get plenty of
rest and make sure you eat enough junk food before coming to the
arcade!  Also remember to take regular trips to the bathroom.  (Be good
to your colon . . . and your colon will be good to you.)
Before playing each time it is a good idea to properly stretch and
warm up your hands.  A pulled finger can result in days of missing game
time.  Also lift weights to build up your strength in your arms so they
won't get tired as easily when holding the gun for long periods of
time.

7. Looking Cool
===============
Go to the store and buy clothes that look like the ones in the
game.  At the end of each level pose like your character.  Learn all
the lines and say them at the same time as your on-screen persona.
Take extra friends along so they can fill in the rest of the parts.
Draw straws to see who has to be Amy.  Buy the soundtrack to the game
and play it when you are at the arcade so everyone hears.
During the game always place your gun in the holder after
defeating the zombies and quickly pull it out just as the undead are
about to hit.  Play off hand when fighting the bosses and always look
like you are more interested in the game next to you.  When you become
an expert switch to a long black trench coat and say your with the FBI.
Tip: Your coat should cost at least $200! 0_-

8. Game Tips
=============
Try to stick to the same route over and over again.  Trying
different ways can often lead to a quick death.  Of course, when you
begin playing you may want to try different paths at least once to find
the best one for you.  If you play with someone else always try to play
together so you can develop better teamwork.
If you're trying to get the top score you should try and shoot as
many items as possible (see Items and Scoring Section).  Even though
they may be a pain to get, in the long run it's worth it.  You also get
a higher score for better accuracy, so try and actually aim at the
undead (head shots boost your score even more).  The on-screen
reloading trick can help improve your accuracy percentage.  If you want
the special ending it is almost necessary to get the bonus room on the
last chapter for this you need to rescue ALL the innocents you
encounter.
When trying to save innocents remember that many of the undead
take less hits to kill than normal.  Only a few require the same amount
or more hits as regular undead.  Also, undead that kill innocents are
not stunned or slowed down by your gunfire and their limbs cannot be
blown off.  In addition, these undead are not distracted into killing
you until the innocent is dead.  If you are unsure if you can save an
innocent because of your accuracy, just take your time aiming and shot
slowly.  The innocent was going to die anyway, so you might as well
build up your skill and who knows you just might get lucky.
While it's not necessary to hit all the undead in the head, it
makes the game a lot easier if you can.  In the later portions of the
game the undead pop out close and you have only a few moments before
they hit.  Sometimes the undead still move around even with half their
head blown off so be careful.  Once an undead dies it falls and turns
into a pool of green blood and disappears.   Enough shots to the chest
will blow the top half off of almost any undead.
Tip: Don't block with your face! o.0

9. Chapter Routes
=================
This portion of the FAQ is divided into sections; at the end of
each section is a route decision following the paths you can take.
Follow your path to the corresponding section.  Note these chapter
explanations are mostly for one-player games; two-player information is
included wherever possible.  The strategies for the bosses and the
undead are placed after the chapter route section for easy reference.

The First Chapter: A Prelude
============================
Chapter Notes:  This chapter is more or less straight forward with
only one real choice near the beginning.  You must, however, rescue all
five innocents to get the life bonus at the end of the chapter.  Many
first time players die somewhere near the middle and it is important
not to get discouraged.  HOTD games take a few tries before you can
actually get somewhere.

SECTION 1A
You begin your adventure by driving in your car when you see a
purple demon flying in the air.  You stop your car and get out and he
talks to you and flies away.  You then see two zombies (3 in 2-player)
approach you, shoot these zombies (if you don't shoot them then why are
you playing?).  There are four zombies in the background you can shoot
these for extra practice and points; they fall in 1-2 shots.
Afterwards, you walk into a church and two zombies (3 in 2-player)
come out as you open the door.  Entering you then look toward the right
and down and see a dead innocent.  Just then another zombie appears
behind a chair on the right.  Shoot it and you then walk a little bit
and look down to the left and see another zombie.  It gets up and walks
toward you, shoot it and another zombie from the right appears, kill it
and you walk forward and talk with G.
As he is giving you a book an ax-wielder and zombie (2 ax-wielders
in 2-player) punch through a glass window and run toward you, shoot
them and finish your talk with G.  You walk through the broken window
and turn right to see an ax-wielder kill an innocent (there's nothing
you can do about this), kill it and you hear the dying words of the
innocent.  There is also a zombie in the background for extra shooting
practice.
You turn back left and walk a little further, two jars are at the
left, one of which contains a coin.  A female innocent then runs from
the left, she is being chased by a zombie.  Kill the zombie to save the
innocent; this is your first choice.  Note: Unlike most undead that
kill innocents, this one can be slowed down if you shoot it in the
legs.
If you save her go to SECTION 1B.
If you don't save her go to SECTION 1F.

SECTION 1B
After saving her, you turn left and see one zombie walking toward
an innocent, kill it to save him.  Behind him are two crates, the right
one contains your first life-up for the game.  If you kill the first
zombie two more appear from both sides of the innocent, kill them and
he tells you that you can go out the nearby exit.
If you save the innocent go to SECTION 1C.
If you don't save the innocent go to SECTION 1D.

SECTION 1C
After saving the innocent you jump down; in the background to the
right are two barrels, one contains a diamond.  Just then you hear the
cries of another innocent crawling on the floor.  He is being chased by
a zombie who kicks him unless you shoot it.  This zombie one takes 1-2
shots to kill.  Afterwards, you turn left and see an ax-wielder and
zombie approach; kill them and you walk forward and see a grate bust
open and maggots come out, shoot them and you see G's blood stains on
the floor.
Go to SECTION 1G.

SECTION 1D
You turn back to the first innocent and talk to her, after you
turn left you see three zombies breakdown a gate, shoot them and walk
into the next section.
Go to SECTION 1E.

SECTION 1E
You see three barrels to left that contain nothing.  You turn
right and see four death frogs, shoot them and continue walking on your
path.  Before you reach the wooden door, you swing left and see an ax-
wielder and zombie, shoot them and walk through the door.  You then
walk out and see G's blood stains on the floor.  A grate busts open and
maggots appear, shoot them.  Looking back up you see barrels to the
left.  The closest bottom barrel contains a diamond.  At the same time
a chainsaw marauder appears from a door on the right, shoot him and
continue walking to the next section.
Go to SECTION 1G.

SECTION 1F
You turn left and see three zombies running toward you (notice the
dead innocent in the background) shoot them and you turn back right and
see three zombies bust through the gate, shoot them and you walk to the
next section.
Go to SECTION 1E.

SECTION 1G
You look up and see an ax-wielder throw an ax at you.  Shoot the
ax and kill the ax-wielder (it walks away if you can't kill it).
After, you look to the right and two green revenants jump out, these
only take one shot to kill.
You then turn back left and two barrels are on the right, one
contains a coin.  Just then a child innocent bursts from the doors from
the left followed by two ax-wielders (3 in 2-player).  Shoot them and
you walk further, two clawed minions jump from underneath a panel on
the ground.  Kill them and you walk a bit further seeing two zombies.
As you kill them a third zombie falls from above.  After you kill them,
you look up and see two more zombies jump down, you can shoot them as
they fall.  Behind all of this are two iron barrels and a large can to
the left.  One of the barrels has a golden frog.
As you walk you look up and see a zombie with a barrel who is
about to throw it down at a female innocent.  Shoot the barrel and kill
the zombie.  The innocent falls down and lands on the dumpster.  She
points to the right and another zombie comes forth.  Kill the zombie
and the innocent gives you a life-up.  After that, you walk to an open
space and fight the first chapter boss.  Note: If you shoot the zombie
in the head it immediately dies falling forward and releasing the
barrel, but the barrel does not hit the innocent.
Go to BOSS 1.

The Second Chapter: Muddy
=========================
Chapter Notes:  This chapter has many ways to travel to reach the
end.  There are two versions of the boss which, in turn, take you to
different parts in the third chapter.  This chapter is often the
stopper for many beginners.  You must rescue at least five innocents
for the life bonus.

SECTION 2A
You walk along when you see a red car with a zombie on it, shoot
the zombie to save the first innocent.  The car quickly swerves from
side to side and ends up driving off to the left; at this point it is
close enough to get a few good shots.  It takes 1-6 shots to knock the
zombie off (head shot of course is only one).  If you don't save him he
crashes into a building and dies.
If you save him go to SECTION 2B.
If you don't save him go to SECTION 2G.

SECTION 2B
The innocent opens the door of the car and thanks you; behind him
is a large can with a coin in it.  You walk further and see a black van
to the left.  Two zombies burst forth, shoot them and continue on your
way.
Walking up the stairs you see two zombies and an ax-wielder
getting up on a car to get you.  As you walk up you can shoot at the
undead.  Kill these enemies and you walk a bit further onto a small
street.  From the top of the furthest building a bladed minion jumps on
the rooftops and comes down on you.  Wait until he is high in the air
and before shooting.  After you kill him, you walk a bit further and
two clawed minions jump from a window at the left.  Kill them and you
continue on your way.
You turn right and two wooden barrels are on the right, one
contains a coin.  At the same time two owls (4 in 2-player) fly down.
Kill them and you see two zombies trying to get at an innocent (you
can't see him).  Shoot them and at the left near the back are two
wooden crates, one contains a diamond.
Just then an innocent falls from above; you look up and see an ax-
wielder throw an ax.  Shoot the ax first before killing him as he
throws it very fast.  You then continue walking and turn left and walk
down some stairs, an owl (2 in 2-player) comes out.  Shoot it and you
turn right and see two bladed minions fall from the sky.  Kill them,
near the back and to the right are two barrels, the closer one has a
golden frog.
At this point you see a dead innocent with a key; shooting it
chooses your path.
If you shoot the key go to SECTION 2C.
If you don't shoot the key go to SECTION 2I.

SECTION 2C
Shooting the key, you walk through the gate and see two jars in
front which contain nothing.  You turn right and see a ghoul with a
barrel, kill it and you see a child innocent being chased by another
ghoul running from a building at the right.  A head shot is best for
this part as it takes to many hits to kill the ghoul before it kills
the kid.
If you save the child go to SECTION 2D.
If you don't save the child go to SECTION 2K.

SECTION 2D
Saving the child you enter the building and see two wraiths (3 in
2-player) kill them and you then hear the cries of the father innocent
and walk toward a locked door.  The lock only requires ONE SHOT to
open.  If you are in 2-player mode it is best to let only one player
shoot the lock.  Once you shoot the lock, the door flies open and you
see an innocent followed by a wraith that is about to kill him.  The
wraith is to the right of the innocent.  A head shot is also best for
this part, fortunately it is not to difficult to do because the wraith
is very close to you and is a big target.  Shooting the lock is what
determines your path.
If you shoot open the lock go to SECTION 2E.
If you don't shoot open the lock go to SECTION 2M.

SECTION 2E
Opening the lock you watch the television seeing the second
chapter boss.  You then walk forward into the open room and see one
maggot on the table and three maggots hidden underneath the rug.  Shoot
the hidden maggots first.  After, you turn toward the door and begin to
walk out.  Just then two ghasts (4 in 2-player) come out of a
ventilation duct and fall to the ground, kill them and continue on your
way.
Go to SECTION 2F.

SECTION 2F
You turn right and see two wooden crates and a barrel.  One wooden
crate has a health (you must shot both crates to get the health though)
and the wooden barrel has a coin.  You then hear the cries of another
innocent.  You turn right and see a zombie on the left near the
innocent and a ghoul on the right ready to attack you.  In this part I
strongly recommend head shots for both.  If you want to save the
innocent kill the zombie first and then the ghoul.
After you turn back you have one more chance to get the health and
the coin.  You turn left and walk along for a bit.  Turning right you
see two revenants and a ghoul on a boat coming toward you.  You can
shoot them before they land to attack you.  To the right are two
zombies for shooting practice.  Kill the undead and you walk and turn
right.
In the distance you see an innocent being chased by an ax-wielder.
This requires accuracy in order to save the innocent.  You can get a
head shot but this is difficult because of the axes and the great
distance.  However, your best chance to kill the ax-wielder is when he
raises his ax to kill the innocent.  At the point he drops his guard
and is open, but doing this is risky.  This still requires good aim to
save the innocent.  You can also aim for the right elbow of the ax-
wielder, since it sticks out the most on the undead's body, to do some
damage.
Whether you save the innocent or not a chainsaw marauder (2 in 2-
player) suddenly busts through a door in front of you.  If you saved
the innocent he tells you about Sunset Bridge and gives you a life-up.
Go to SECTION 2L.

SECTION 2G
You walk toward the car wreck and look at the driver innocent's
corpse.  Just then you hear a scream and turn left to see two wraiths
about to attack a female innocent.  Kill the wraith on the right first.
To her right is a crate with a diamond.  Kill both to save her and she
tells you that there are more people inside.
You open the door and walk through seeing two wraiths.   After you
kill these, two clawed minions jump out.  Once you are done killing
them, you walk forward and see three barrels at the end of the hall,
one has a coin.  You then look down and to the right at a dead
twitching innocent.  Suddenly, you swing around and see a chainsaw
marauder charge at you.
After you kill it, you do a 180 and continue down the hall.  Going
around the corner you see a zombie on the left, running toward you, and
an ax-wielder on the right throw an ax at the same time.  Shoot the ax,
then the zombie, and finish off the ax-wielder.  You can shoot at both
of them as you turn around the corner before they attack.
You see an open room at the left and turn to face into it.  Near
the center (slightly to the left) you see a crying female innocent.  At
the same time a wraith (2 in 2-player) appears from the right, shoot it
and you talk to the innocent.  You then watch the television and see
the second chapter boss dancing and leave the building out the door.
In a small alley like place an ax-wielder bursts through a door.
Once you kill it you turn left and see a bladed minion jump on the
rooftops and fly toward you.  Wait until it is high in the air before
shooting it.  You then walk a bit further and see a zombie (2 in 2-
player) come forth from the right.  As you shoot this zombie another
zombie comes out close to you.  Shoot the closer zombie because he
attacks you very quickly (for a zombie).
Once you are done with this, you walk a bit further and see three
wooden crates in the background toward the left, one contains a golden
frog.  As you are going, maggots squirm out into the center of the
screen.  Kill them and you hear the cries of an innocent.  You walk
forward to a small door with the word "wharf" and see an innocent
thrown out to your left.  When you look back right you see a ghoul
charging at you (head shot is recommended).
Once the ghoul is finished, you turn right and see two owls (4 in
2-player), kill these quickly as they hit soon after.  You then walk a
bit more and see a bladed minion (2 in 2-player) fall from above kill
it and you turn right.
As you turn right you see a ghoul on the right and a zombie on the
left; both are about to kill a grandpa and grandma innocent,
respectively.  This part is very difficult to do in single-player.  You
must score a head shot on the ghoul first and quickly finish off the
zombie with either a head shot or shots to the back.  Killing the ghoul
quickly with a head shot is your best chance, if you don't at best you
will only save one innocent.  You can start shooting at them as soon as
you begin turning toward the right.
Once you are done with this, you continue walking and see a female
innocent behind a gate with two wraiths by her side.  Kill the wraith
on the left first then the right one.  Be careful not to kill the
innocent.
If you save her go to SECTION 2H.
If you don't save her go to SECTION 2J.

SECTION 2H
Saving the female innocent you shoot open the gate and enter the
clock tower.  There are several barrels to shoot for practice here.
You walk to the other side of the room and see another stack of barrels
which you can't shoot.  From these a ghoul comes forth charging shoot
him and walk through the door.
You then pass through a small hallway and come to another door.
Three ghasts punch through the bottom portion.  Kill them and you go
through the door.  You then look left and see nothing and look right
and see three wraiths walking toward you.  After you kill them you turn
back left and see a chainsaw marauder (head shot is best for this part)
in close range.  You look right and see two clawed minions jump out of
some crates.  The rest of the crates in the background cannot be shot.
Once you kill these you come to a bookcase that can be shot on the
left.
If you shoot the bookcase go to SECTION 2N.
If you don't shoot the bookcase go to SECTION 2O.

SECTION 2I
You turn left and look up at a giant clock face with two clawed
minions that fall on you.  You must score a couple of hits one each or
they hit you.  After you finish them off, you enter the clock tower.
To your left you see five wraiths kill them and you look down and see
zombies (can't shoot them).  You then decide to take the high road.
Looking to the right you see a large group of putrid slugs hanging on a
clock gear.
Once you are done, you walk up stairs and suddenly turn left at
the sound of an innocent.  He is about to be slashed by an ax-wielder;
a head shot is recommended.  After, you continue walking and turn left
seeing a chainsaw marauder.  Kill it and you go down the ladder and see
a female innocent and a wraith.  After this you exit the building.
Go to SECTION 2J.

SECTION 2J
You turn right and see three revenants come from the river; to the
center are three barrels that contain nothing.  In the background are
three zombies for shooting practice.  Afterwards, you walk a bit
further and see three more revenants come out and behind them are three
more barrels one contains a coin.  Once you kill everything you take a
few steps and a zombie suddenly comes out from the left.
After you kill it you turn right and see a large can that contains
nothing and a set of doors.  From these doors an innocent comes out;
she is being chased by an ax-wielder.  You can shoot through the doors
to help you kill it.  After you kill the ax-wielder, two revenants will
jump out from the left; these only take 1-3 shots to kill.  If you
rescue the innocent she gives you a life-up.
You then get pulled by two revenants into the river where they
immediately attack you.  After you kill them three piranhas attack you;
there are three zombies in the background for shooting practice.  After
that, you walk and turn left and suddenly see an ax-wielder in front of
you.  Once you kill it two zombies will jump from a nearby boat into
the water.  Kill these and you walk forward under a bridge on the top
are two zombies for shooting practice.
You then see an innocent on a boat coming from the right.  He is
about to be killed by a revenant.  A head shot it best for this part as
the revenant takes a good amount of hits to kill.  Be careful you can
shot through the boat and accidentally kill the innocent.  You then
begin to walk toward a ladder to climb out; as you walk another
revenant jumps out of the water in front of you.  Kill it and you climb
out of the river.
As you climb out you turn right and see a chainsaw marauder dash
out, a head shot is best.  There are two large cans around the undead,
one on the left and one behind it, both contain nothing.  You then see
Amy and Harry but before reaching them a zombie appears from the right,
kill it and you then fight the boss.
Go to BOSS 2 in Location B.

SECTION 2K
Walking to a building you hear the cries of a female innocent.
Looking in the window you see her get killed by an undead.  You enter
and see three barrels on the right and one barrel in front of you.  The
one in front contains a health.  You then turn right and see a female
innocent backing away from a wraith, both coming from the left.  Kill
the wraith to save the innocent.  Immediately after, you swing right
and see a child innocent about to be killed by three ghasts.  Careful
aim is needed as it is easy to kill the innocent.  Shoot the lead ghast
first.
Soon after you turn back, you see two more ghasts crawling toward
you, shoot these and go to the next room.  At the end of this room is a
barrel which contains a golden cat.  At the same time two clawed
minions come from the door leading out at the left.  Once you kill
these a ghoul comes from the door at the end of the hall.  After you
kill everything you go outside and turn right.  You then see a bladed
minion jump from below.  Kill it to continue.
Entering the building you go up an elevator and see three zombies
through the door.  These can be shot before the door opens.  After you
kill them, you turn right and see an ax-wielder.  Killing it you
continue up the stairs.  When you reach the top you see two iron
barrels one contains a necklace.  At the same time, maggots squirm out
from the right.  Kill them and you walk to the right.  Turning left you
see a chainsaw marauder come from the right very quickly.  A head shot
is best for this part.
You then walk into a dark corridor when two clawed minions jump
out.  Kill them and you walk a little more and see two bladed minions
jump from the windows.  After your done killing them, you walk into the
next room and see two wraiths come from behind the pillars from both
sides.   Kill them and you climb down a ladder.
After a scene of you climbing down the ladder, you see Amy and
Harry; before you reach them two green revenants jump out of the water
to the right, kill them and move on to the boss.
Go to BOSS 2 in Location B.

SECTION 2L
After you turn and walk a bit, in a window above and in front of
you is an ax-wielder.  It suddenly throws open the window and hurls an
ax.  Kill him and you walk further and see three piranhas in the water
jump out.
You then walk and turn right and see two green revenants jump out
of the water.  About one second later two more black revenants jump out
as well.  After, you walk forward and look up some stairs and see two
iron barrels that are about to be thrown at you.  Shoot them and you
walk up the stairs.
Two ghouls are waiting for you and start running toward you for an
attack.  I strongly recommend head shots for 1-player games.  Begin
shooting the ghouls as soon as you see the tops of their heads coming
up.
Up ahead you see four zombies eating some dead innocents; they
stop eating and start running toward you.  Kill them and you meet up
with Harry and Amy.  Soon after you fight the chapter boss.
Go to BOSS 2 in Location A.

SECTION 2M
Not opening the lock you then watch the television and see the
second chapter boss.  You continue walking more into the building and
begin to enter a door on the left.  As you do, three ghasts come
through the door.  Once you kill them you go through the door and turn
left seeing two wraiths, behind them are two barrels one contains some
apples.  After you kill them, a chainsaw marauder suddenly comes from
the right, behind him is a jar which contains a golden cat.  Kill it
quickly and continue to the next section.
Go to SECTION 2P.

SECTION 2N
Shooting the bookcase you turn left and see a wraith come out on
the left.  Going in the door on the right you see the arm of a wraith
punch through the door from the right.  Looking right you see two
wraiths.  Once you kill these, you turn back left and see putrid slugs
hanging from the ceiling.  Kill these and you go through the door to
the next section.
Go to SECTION 2F.

SECTION 2O
Not shooting the bookcase you enter the room on the right.
Walking in, you see a room filled with ankle-high whitish water and
four ghasts crawling toward you.  There are several iron barrels in
this room which contain nothing.  After you kill the ghasts, three
piranhas jump out to bite you.  After all this, you open the door and
suddenly see a wraith about to attack you, kill it and go to the next
section.
Go to SECTION 2P.

SECTION 2P
You turn and see an ax-wielder and two zombies behind it.  Behind
all the undead are two jars one of which contains a necklace.  Kill the
ax-wielder first and then finish off the zombies.  Once you are done
you turn right and cross a bridge and hear the cries of a female
innocent.  Walking toward the building you see two barrels to the right
which contain nothing.  Looking in the window you see a female innocent
with a zombie and ax-wielder behind her.  Kill the zombie first, which
is on the right, and then the ax-wielder, which is on the left.  If you
save the innocent she gives you a life-up.
After you are done, you turn left and walk to the edge of the
river.  There are three zombies in the background for shooting
practice.  Three revenants jump out;  kill them and you see the bridge
is out.  Then two more revenants pull you into the river where they are
waiting to attack you.  Kill them and on a boat a ghoul, zombie, and
ax-wielder come from the left and jump into the river with you.  You
can shoot them before they jump to kill them.
Once you are done, you walk toward the edge to climb out.  Before
you reach the ladder one more revenant jumps out.  Kill it and you
climb out and walk to the left.  As you get to the corner a chainsaw
marauder comes out from the right at close range (head shot is best).
Go to SECTION 2L.

The Third Chapter: Darkness
===========================
Chapter Notes:  This chapter is not as long as the previous one,
but it can be more difficult, especially for first time players.  There
are many enemies that jump out suddenly if you don't know what to look
for and large groups of undead can come out at one time.  Like the
second chapter, there are two versions of the boss which lead you to
different parts in the next chapter.  You need to rescue at least three
innocents for the life bonus.

Second Chapter Boss Battle Location
If you fought in Location A start at SECTION 3A.
If you fought in Location B start at SECTION 3C.

SECTION 3A
After your conversation with Amy and Harry, you see three
revenants in the water to the right, shoot them and your boat turns
left.  There are two zombies on the bridge for extra points and in the
back there is a barrel and crate both contain nothing.  At the same
time a zombie drops down hanging from the bridge and kicks you unless
you kill it (head shot is best).  After, Harry asks if you are all
right.
Your boat turns right and you see an ax-wielder (2 in 2-player)
off to the left.    Afterwards, two owls (4 in 2-player) swoop down,
kill them and after you hear the cry of another innocent; you turn
right and see two revenants coming toward him.  Shoot the one on the
right first and then the left one, they only require one shot.  Behind
them are two barrels both contain nothing.
After that, your boat continues and a red revenant jumps out of
the water to bite you.  You can see him before he jumps traveling in
the water and are able to shot him.  Also in the water is green
revenant but he does not attack.  You look up and see a ghoul holding
an iron barrel.  Kill him and you turn around and see two green
revenants and after you kill them three piranhas attack.
You then continue for a bit and see an innocent on a moving boat
with a revenant.  This undead requires one shot.  While on the boat the
undead moves from the innocent's right side to left.  Be careful not to
shoot the innocent as the undead goes behind him, not in front as he
moves.  To the left are two crates and a barrel, one crate contains a
golden frog.  To the right is a red crate which has a life-up.  If you
fail to save the innocent the boat crashes into the wall and explodes.
After, Amy receives a call telling you something about Goldman.
If you save the innocent go to SECTION 3B.
If you don't save the innocent go to SECTION 3F.

SECTION 3B
You continue on and at Amy's warning turn toward an iron gate
which pulls up allowing an ax-wielder, two zombies, and a muscles to
walk out.  The ax-wielder throws his axes and runs up to you for a
kick.  It is important to take him out first and then finish off the
zombies according to how close they are.  Note: these zombies only walk
until you shoot them.  After, you immediately turn left and see a ghoul
and a muscles running toward you, shoot the ghoul first with a head
shot.
Once you kill them, your boat turns left; this is another chance
to get the life-up in the red crate if you missed it the first time.
Moving along Amy tells you to look at a female innocent whose is about
to be killed by a zombie.  A head shot is best for this part.  After
your boat turns right, you see an ax-wielder (2 in 2-player) up ahead.
Kill them and your boat continues and you see a large flock of harmless
bats.  Shoot these for pleasure, practice, and points.  Your boat turns
left and five more bats fly toward you.
After you kill them, you enter the underground and see three
wraiths (4 in 2-player) to the right.  Once you kill them, Amy and
Harry leave you while you search the cavern.  You look forward and see
an innocent being chased by two wraiths.  Shoot the wraith on the left
first, it is hidden at first behind a stone.  This is to trick you into
shooting the other wraith which is moving very slowly.
Go to BOSS 3 in Location A.

SECTION 3C
Your boat goes through a broken gate and you see two red revenants
in the water which jump out unless you shoot them.  After, Harry asks
if you are all right.  You continue and on the right is a barrel and a
crate both contain nothing.  Suddenly a zombie drops and lands on your
boat, kill it and another comes down hanging from above.  Your boat
then turns left and you hear the cries of another innocent.  He is on a
boat with a ghoul and a muscles.  The muscles jumps on your boat and
attacks you while the ghoul attacks the innocent.  As the boat comes
from the left, you have some time to kill the ghoul before the muscles
jumps on your boat.  A head shot is best for this part.  If you don't
save the innocent the boat crashes in the water gate and he dies.  To
the right is a iron barrel that contains a diamond.
If you save the innocent go to SECTION 3D.
If you don't save the innocent go to SECTION 3E.

SECTION 3D
After you save the innocent an ax-wielder drops on you boat and
attacks.  You must kill it very quickly or it kicks you.  You then look
up and see two more ax-wielders but these throw their axes at you.  If
you don't kill them they jump down after you to attack.  During this
time the innocent opens the water gate and you continue on.  As you
approach a shore, you see one zombie and three muscles waiting for you.
The muscle on the extreme right is the closest to you when you stop, so
kill it quickly.  After, you turn right and look down into the water
and see five revenants attack you.  Once you kill these you proceed
onto the next section.
Go to SECTION 3G.

SECTION 3E
Your boat turns right and you hear the crackling sound of
electricity.  From a room near the center two wraiths and an ax-wielder
come out.  After that, your boat continues and you look down into the
water and see two revenants.  You continue a little ways more and hear
the cries of another innocent.  Looking forward you see a swimming
innocent who is being attacked by two revenants from either side of
him.  Once you take care of this you turn around and see three piranhas
attack.  After, you continue and see on the left two crates and a
barrel.  In one of the of the crates is a golden frog.  Far in the
background near the left is a red crate with a life-up.  Moving along a
red revenant jumps out of the water.  Once you kill it, in the water
ahead, you see three green revenants swimming along.  These attack
soon, but after you turn around.  During this time though you can shoot
them as they swim.  Once you turn around they swim back and attack.
After, you turn back around and continue to the next section.
Go to SECTION 3B.

SECTION 3F
Your boat turns left and floats down a bit when you hear the cries
of an innocent.  You turn right and see a swimming innocent about to be
attacked by two revenants.  The first is behind him and the second is
to the right hidden at first by the building.  A head shot is best for
the second one because you don't have much time to kill it when it
appears.  Once you kill the revenants three piranhas jump out to
attack, kill them and you go on to the next section.
Go to SECTION 3G.

SECTION 3G
You turn left and see two ghouls on a bridge with iron barrels.
Shoot the one on the right first.  After, three piranhas attack as you
face left.  Once they are dead you swing back and continue on your
boat.  Looking toward the left you see two ghouls, one on each end, and
in the middle, a zombie.  Behind them are two wooden barrels and an
iron barrel.  One of the wooden barrels contains a mushroom.  Head
shots are best for this part.  Before they attack you have a few
moments to shoot the undead.  After you kill them, you continue on and
turn left.  In the water is a crate with a life-up in the center of the
screen.  Once this is done you land and Harry and Amy leave you as you
search the underground.
You enter and see three wraiths running up to you.  Once you kill
them, you look up and see bats swoop down from the ceiling to attack.
Kill them and you walk a bit more and two ghouls drop from above; the
left ghoul attacks first.  Once they are dead you walk down a small
slope and see an innocent being chased by two wraiths.  Kill the wraith
on the left first.  After, you fight the chapter boss.
Go to BOSS 3 in Location B.

The Fourth Chapter: Despair
===========================
Chapter Notes:  This chapter does not offer much in the ways you
can travel.  There are two versions of the boss but both take you to
the same location in the next chapter.  The innocents that need to be
rescued are very close to the enemies.  Careful aim is needed to save
almost all of them.  This chapter is short but deadly as it can kill
off many first time players or players with low health.  Unlike
previous chapters, some of the undead are different in the same
locations if you come from different paths.  You need to rescue at
least three innocents for the life bonus.

Third Chapter Boss Battle Location
If you fought in Location A start at SECTION 4A.
If you fought in Location B start at SECTION 4C.

SECTION 4A
You suddenly turn right and see three wraiths jump up and land to
attack.  You can shoot these as they jump at you.  After you are done,
you turn right and take a few steps and turn left; walking up some
steps you see a clawed assassin with a two wraiths one on each side of
it.  Kill these and after you take a few steps and a bladed assassin
runs out.  Once this is done you walk forward and see about five bats
quickly fly out at you.
After, you walk down some stairs and hear the cries of an
innocent.  You turn right and see an innocent held by a wraith very
closely and a clawed assassin (2 in 2-player) behind in a cage to the
right.  Your best bet is to aim for the wraith's leg which is sticking
out; this is the best place as it only takes one shot to kill it.
Behind all this are three crates, the one on the left has a diamond and
the center one has a mushroom.  In order to save the innocent you must
kill the wraith quickly.  If you save the innocent he gives you a life-
up.
You turn back left and a two lizard spawns drop from above kill
them and you continue forward a bit hearing the cries of another
innocent.  You turn left and see him being held by a wraith down a
shaft.  A head shot is best for this part, be careful in aiming.  If
you don't save him he slides down and you follow him.
If you save him go to SECTION 4B.
If you don't save him go to SECTION 4G.

SECTION 4B
You turn back right and look up and see two lizard spawns on a
pipe above.  You can shoot them as they crawl toward you.  Once they
reach you they hang down and try to hit you with their claws.  Once you
kill them they fall below and die.  Be careful sometimes they land in
front of you instead and jump up for a hit.  After you kill them, you
look up at the pipe again and then back down.  You then see a blood
knight walking toward you.  Right after, a wraith suddenly comes from
the right in close range to attack.  Behind them and to the right are
two iron barrels, one contains a necklace.  After you kill them, two
more lizard spawns drop from above to attack.  Finish them off and you
walk through the door.
As you open the door, you see a clawed assassin on the left and on
the right, a wraith with another clawed assassin near the center in the
rear.  Take out the one on the left first as he attacks quickly.  Head
shots are best for all the undead in this part as they all come at you
fairly soon.  After, five bats swoop from above and attack.  Kill them
and you walk forward and turn right at the sounds of another innocent.
You turn toward the left and see a worker innocent about to be killed
by a wraith on the right.  At the center is a blood knight (2 in 2-
player) that is going to attack you.  If you want to save the innocent
you should try to attack the wraith first and quickly finish off the
blood knight before it hits you.  The wraith only requires one shot to
kill,  so you can quickly finish off the wraith.
You then turn left and walk along for a bit.  Two bladed assassins
run out along with a wraith.  It is best to try and kill at least one
bladed assassin as it runs out before it throws its knives.  After you </pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
kill everything, you head up some stairs into the colosseum and fight
the chapter boss.
Go to BOSS 4 in Location A.

SECTION 4C
You first see three wraiths walking up to you.  After you kill
them you look down some sloping pipes and see two clawed assassins
slide out of a pipe in the distance.  After you kill them a third
slides out from the left.  Once they are dead you walk a bit more and a
lizard spawn falls from above.  After you kill it, you hear the cries
of another innocent.  Looking down a shaft you see him being held a
wraith.  A head shot is best, but be careful because the wraith and
innocent are moving around slightly.  It can take a few shots to kill
the wraith.
If you save him go to SECTION 4D.
If you don't save him go to SECTION 4E.

SECTION 4D
Saving the innocent you go back and walk through the door.  When
you open the door you see a wraith and clawed assassin ready to attack
you.  After you kill them, two blood knights appear; the one on the
left is closer and should be attacked first.  Once you kill them, you
turn left and walk for a bit and look up seeing two lizard spawn
crawling on the pipe.  Be careful with these two because many times
they fall down the pipe when you shoot them and quickly hit you when
they land.
After you kill them, you go through the door and hear the cries of
an innocent being held by a wraith at close range.  To the right of the
innocent in a cage, is a clawed assassin and another wraith.  In the
cage there are also three crates, the left one contains a mushroom and
the center one contains a life-up.  To kill the wraith holding the
innocent, aim for the leg which is sticking out, this requires only one
shot.  Once this is done, you will continue on and turn right looking
into a cage with a two dead innocents and bats hovering above.  Shoot
the bats as they attack you.
After you kill them, you swing left and look at a hole.  Two
lizard spawns crawl out to attack you.  Once you kill them you go down
the hole and through a tunnel and turn left,  a blood knight and a
wraith are waiting to attack you.  Kill them and you turn toward the
right and see three clawed assassins running toward you.  After, you go
and fight the chapter boss.
Go to BOSS 4 in Location B.

SECTION 4E
Chasing the innocent you jump down the hole.  When you reach the
bottom a clawed assassin and a wraith are waiting to attack you.
After, you hear the cries of another innocent.  You turn right and see
a fat innocent in a cell with two wraiths.  You must shot the lock in
order to save the innocent.   Once you shot the lock the door opens and
the innocent runs out, but the wraiths do not chase him.  You don't
have much time to shot the wraiths because you swing left as two bladed
assassins attack you.  After, you walk into the next section.
Go to SECTION 4F.

SECTION 4F
As you reach an archway, bats fly from above and attack you.  Once
you kill them you turn left and see a blood knight very close to you.
Behind him are two iron barrels one contains a coin.  After you kill
it, you turn right and walk down.  Two lizard spawns drop from above,
once you kill them you walk a bit more and hear the cries of an
innocent.  You turn left and see that he is being chased by a wraith.
This wraith is VERY close to the innocent (this is perhaps the most
difficult innocent to save in the game).  If you want to save him it is
best to wait until the wraith raises its arms to attack and shoot the
arms.  Remember this undead only takes one hit to kill.
If you save the innocent go to SECTION 4H.
If you don't save the innocent go to SECTION 4I.

SECTION 4G
You chase after the innocent to save him (even if you shot him)
sliding down a chute.  When you reach the bottom you swing right and
see a wraith at close range, kill it and you turn back and walk a bit.
You see a wraith and clawed assassin at close range and after, you look
down at the dead innocent you were chasing.   It is best to shoot the
clawed assassin first because it moves faster.  Once they are dead you
walk out of the cage and see a bladed assassin attack you.  After you
kill it you go to the next section.
Go to SECTION 4F.

SECTION 4H
Saving the innocent you turn around going right.  You walk for a
bit and see a clawed assassin and a wraith walk from the left.  In the
background near the center are two iron barrels one contains a
necklace.  Facing a set of stairs you see two lizard spawns crawling
toward you.  After you kill them, you walk up the stairs.  When you
reach the top you turn right and see a blood knight on the right and a
wraith on the left ready to attack you.  Finish off the blood knight
first; note the dead innocent in the background.  After, you turn
around and see two bladed assassins ready to attack you.  It is best
try and finish one off as quickly as possible for one-player games
(shooting four knives before they hit is tough).  After, you soon fight
the chapter boss.
Go to BOSS 4 in Location A.

SECTION 4I
Not saving the innocent you continue forward toward an elevator.
Before you reach it a clawed assassin and a wraith appear from the left
side.  Kill them and you go up the elevator.  When you reach the top
two bladed assassins appear to attack you.  Once you kill them you turn
left and see a blood knight and a wraith about to attack you.  Finish
off the blood knight first.  You walk a bit and from the right, three
clawed assassins run out.  Kill them and you go to fight the chapter
boss.
Go to BOSS 4 in Location B.

The Fifth Chapter: Dawn
=======================
Chapter Notes:  In parts this chapter is not very difficult,
however, together it wears players down.  This chapter features return
visits of the first two chapter bosses.  Many of the undead appear in
mixed groups and start off close to you.  First time players will have
trouble with this chapter especially with the chapter boss.  Also, on
the map there are two different roads at the beginning of this chapter
both, however, are exactly the same.  In addition, there are no
innocents to save and as a result no life bonus at the end of the
chapter.

SECTION 5A
You walk down an empty street when you turn right and see three
muscles (4 in 2-player) approach you.  Kill them and you turn left and
see an incubator next to a black van.  Behind him are two iron barrels
the one on the left contains a life-up (this is the only life-up in
this chapter).  After you kill it, two muscles bust from the van on the
right.  You then turn right and see a car, as you walk an incubator (2
in 2-player) raises up from the right kill it and you walk toward
Harry's car.  To the right are four zombies in the background for
practice.  Before you reach the car, you turn around and see a bladed
assassin with two muscles in front of you.  Shoot the bladed assassin
quickly with a head shot and finish off the muscles.
After, you drive down a small hill and the purple demon from the
first chapter boss breaks your windshield and talks to you.  You then
fight Judgment again.  This boss is exactly the same as in the first
chapter.
Once you kill the boss you continue to drive on.  Another car
pulls up along side you.  You turn right and see a muscles on the hood
of a car.  Kill it quickly (no head shot is possible) and then a car
drives up a bit more revealing two more muscles.  Head shots are
recommend for this part; this is difficult to do in one-player games.
Once they are dead their car swerves out of control and crash.  You can
also shoot the driver muscles for points.  Shooting it first, however,
does not cause the car to crash before the other two muscles can hit
you.  Driving along, two lightbladed minions materialize on your hood,
shoot these quickly before they hit you.  Your car swerves around when
they land.
As you drive along, the bridge explodes and Hierophant emerges.
He is almost the same expect he does not summon piranhas when he
reaches 1/2 health.  Instead, he goes straight into the third attack
method.  The same tactics apply as before.
Once you finish, you drive along the edge and see in the distance
a group five muscles.  You can shoot them as you drive up to them.
They attack in two groups; the first is a group of three and then a
group of two.  After you kill them, from the van on the right, two
incubators jump out.  After, you continue driving and two more
lightbladed minions materialize on your car.  Kill them and you ram
through a fence and get out of your car.  You then see a group of four
undead; two muscles, one on each end, and in the middle, two
incubators.  After, you walk to Goldman's headquarters, but before you
enter you fight the chapter boss.
Go to BOSS 5.

The Final Chapter: Original Sin
===============================
Chapter Notes:  This is the final chapter of the game and there
are no choices on your path.  This chapter has new forms of undead that
may be difficult for first time players.  There is also a return visit
from the third chapter boss.  This chapter can be difficult as many
undead pop out close to you for a quick hit.  If you rescued all the
innocents you get the bonus room before the final chapter boss.

SECTION 6A
You enter Goldman's Headquarters and see three neodymium zombies.
Kill them and you head for the elevator turning left.  As you are
walking three lightbladed minions appear in the distance.  Kill them
and you turn right and for the elevator door.  When it opens two
lightsaw marauders and one neodymium zombie come out in a single-file
line.  After, you see a scene of you going up in the elevator to the
fiftieth-floor.
When the elevator door opens two lightsaw marauders (3 in 2-
player) are waiting for you.  Kill the one on the left first as it is
very close.  Once they are dead you walk a bit and turn left and fight
two lightbladed minions.  After they are dead, you go to the end of the
hall and three neodymium zombies phase through the wall.  Kill them and
you go through a door and walk down a small hall to another door.  One
more neodymium zombie phases through the door to attack.
Going through the door a lightsaw marauder attacks you from the
right.  A head shot is best for this undead because he appears in close
range.  Turning around a corner you see a crate to the right next to a
door which contains a life-up.  As you reach the door two neodymium
zombies phase close to you from the left; the right one attacks first.
After you kill them, you walk through a lab and see all the forms
of undead you have been fighting through the game.  Turning to the
right you see Tower emerge from the blue mist.  Fighting it is almost
the same except the blue head also attacks and you do not need to fight
the second attack method after.
Once you defeat it, you go through a door on the right and reach a
bend.  Three neodymium zombies phase through the wall ahead.  Turing
right you see three lightbladed minions in the distance.  After you
kill them, you walk forward a bit and two lightsaw marauders come from
both sides to attack; the left one strikes first.  Once you kill them
you walk a bit more, if you rescued all the innocents you go to the
bonus room.  If not, you head to the roof and fight the final chapter
boss.  Good Luck!
If you rescued ALL the innocents go to SECTION 6B.
If you didn't rescue ALL the innocents go to BOSS 6.

SECTION 6B
Rescuing all the innocents you enter the room that the right
lightsaw marauder can from and go into the bonus room.  In this room
are three life-ups, two diamonds, two golden frogs, four coins, two
necklaces and one mushroom.  You only have a few moments to shoot
everything before you back out and continue.  When you enter the room
your view zooms in on the left corner and slowly shifts toward the
right.  If you want to shoot everything begin shooting items as you
walk in.  After, you back out (you can still shoot items as you move)
and walk up a long staircase and talk to Goldman.  He opens the roof
and you fight the final chapter boss.  Good Luck!
Go to BOSS 6.

SECTION 6C
You see some text up ahead and read on.  In front you is a road
with some information on it; reading it chooses your path.
If you're wondering which path I take go to the NEXT PART.
If you're not wondering which path I take go to the Boss Section.

NEXT PART
My path is almost a straight line through the entire game (on the
map).  I rescue all the innocents (or try to anyway) and shoot all the
items (like keys and such).  I believe this is the easiest and fastest
way through the game.  Of course, the best part about HOTD2 is the
ability to take different routes, that way everyone's game doesn't have
to be the same.

The First Chapter: 1A, 1B, 1C, 1G, BOSS 1
The Second Chapter: 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2L, BOSS 2 (Location A)
The Third Chapter: 3A, 3B, BOSS 3 (Location A)
The Fourth Chapter: 4A, 4B, BOSS 4 (Location A)
The Fifth Chapter: 5A, BOSS 5
The Final Chapter: 6A, 6B, BOSS 6

Here is a path for expert players.  The innocents are more
difficult to save and there are no life bonuses for the third and
fourth chapters.  This path assumes you save all the innocents.  Good
Luck!

The First Chapter: 1A, 1B, 1C, 1G, BOSS 1
The Second Chapter: 2A, 2B, 2I, 2J, BOSS 2 (Location B)
The Third Chapter: 3C, 3D, 3G, BOSS 3 (Location B)
The Fourth Chapter: 4C, 4D, BOSS 4 (Location B)
The Fifth Chapter 5A, BOSS 5
The Final Chapter: 6A, 6B, BOSS 6

10. Boss Section
================
All bosses require practice; the tips given here assume you have
decent aim and skill.  No boss is easy at first, so don't be surprised
if you have trouble doing what is recommended in the following
sections.  All you need is practice (and maybe a friend to play/die
with).  Before you fight each boss, G's File book opens up (or as I
like to call it "The Book of Hideous Undead Creatures" glad I brought
this puppy along!) which shows you the bosses' weak points.

BOSS 1
Judgment Type 28
================
Boss Notes:  It is important for first time players not to get
discouraged by this boss.  A little practice is all you need to be able
to defeat it without getting hit.  A fast trigger finger can be helpful
with the first attack method.

Battle Location
You are in a ruined portion of the city with two destroyed cars on
fire.  The demon flies in front of you and speaks summoning another
undead who pushes aside the cars to reveal itself.

Physical and Weak Point Description
Judgment is a large headless undead wearing breast-plate armor and
carrying a large halberd. The weak point is the winged purple demon
that flies around.

First Attack Method
The headless undead lumbers toward you for an attack; unless you
hit the demon it raises its weapon and slashes you.  Before its attack,
the demon stays still for a second above the headless undead and shouts
"Go!  Krul!"  This is your last (and your best) chance to hit it,
afterward it flies behind the headless undead and you won't be able to
shoot it.  If you get hit the demon laughs and flies up, this is
another time it stays still for a hit.
Generally, the more times you hit the demon the faster it moves.
At first the demon is easy to hit, but after 2-3 hits it moves too fast
for most people.  At this point keep hitting the chest of the headless
undead; sometimes the demon flies into your gunfire.  Shooting the body
only causes minimal damage, but if your trigger finger is fast enough
you can actually do enough damage to reduce the number of times needed
to hit the demon.  Note that each hit to the chest is worth 10 points.
If you don't hit while shooting at the chest, just wait until the demon
stands still when it shouts to the headless undead to strike and then
shoot it.
Each time you hit the demon it flies behind the headless undead
and stays their for about a second.  You will then see the headless
undead shake off the hit.  During this time shooting the body causes no
damage.  After, it quickly flies out again from either side of the
undead.  At this time you can begin shooting above or to the side of
one of its shoulders.  If you're lucky you can quickly score another
hit.

Second Attack Method
After you have brought its health down to 1/3 the headless undead
falls and the demon flies to the center attacking you in one of three
ways.  It either flies up and down in the center, zigzags keeping near
the center, or zigzags from one side of the screen to the other.  You
must score a hit or it rams you.  If it hits, you can quickly shoot the
demon easily because it flies back to the center and stays still for a
few moments.
If you shoot the demon before it hits, it flies back and
frantically zips around in the background before attacking again.  You
can hit it during this time but it is very difficult to do.  Note that
the demon always flies back to the center before attacking you, so you
can start shooting before it attacks and keep him pinned (try aiming at
a point in the background, like a window).  After you kill it, the
demon screams Goldman's name and falls to the ground.

Special Attack Circumstances
If you have done well during the chapter, the boss is more
difficult.  The only real difference is that the demon moves around
very quickly at the beginning of the first attack method.

Location Route Destination
This boss leads you to SECTION 2A.

BOSS 2
Hierophant Type B 05
====================
Boss Notes:  This boss can cause players trouble at first, but
quickly becomes easier after a few times.  The most difficult portion
is when it summons piranhas; this demands a little accuracy.  A fast
trigger finger can be helpful with its third attack method.

Battle Location
Location A
You see several innocents being chased by some zombies.  Before
your character can react the bridge underneath them explodes and the
boss emerges from below.
Location B
You see large amounts of water being splashed toward you and the
boss emerges forth from the waves in front.  He is standing on a bridge
made of boards floating on water.

Physical and Weak Point Description
Hierophant is a large humanoid fish creature holding a trident
which it uses to spear you.  G's file displays its weak point as the
pulsating thing in the beast's chest.

First Attack Method
    The boss first shifts from side to side and slowly walks forward;
you must score a hit on its weak spot in order to stop it from hitting
you.  In Location B you have less time to shoot it before it spears
you.  If you fail, it swings its spear around and hits you, but after
you are able to hit it easily because it is in close range and backs
away with its chest open.  After scoring a hit, its chest closes and it
is invincible but does not attack.  At first it is slow but after
scoring 2-3 hits (2-player requires more) it moves around more wildly .

Second Attack Method
When it reaches 1/2 health it begins to summon piranhas.  In
Location A it jumps down into the river and in Location B it stands in
front of you summoning fish.  Before it begins summoning fish you have
a chance to score a good hit.  After, it turns from side to side
(Location B) or just looks up opening and closing its chest (Location
A) and summons about 7-9 fish.  The screen shifts from side to side in
order to see the fish emerge.  After it stops, you have another
opportunity to shoot it.  You can shoot the boss when the fish are
flying but this is difficult to do with only one player.  Shooting the
boss when the fish are flying stops the summoning of fish.

Third Attack Method
Once it reaches 1/3 health or summons fish three times it attacks
by flying in the air and bringing its spear down on you.  You must
score a hit on the weak point or suffer damage, it is best to pump
bullets into it until he flies back.  Be careful, it holds its trident
in front of its chest to block your shots.  If you are having trouble
hitting, aim for the upper chest (below its chin). If it lands a hit it
stands fairly close to you with its chest open; use this time for a
quick hit on it.  Sometimes before it jumps it stands still wildly
opening and closing its chest; you can use this time to score one hit
on it.  Before it jumps it sometimes quickly opens and closes its chest
once, if your lucky you can score a hit preventing it from jumping.  In
Location A only, it sometimes jumps down into the river and flies up in
a random direction (left, center, or right).  During this time your
character says which direction it is coming from (this is very hard to
hear, especially in noisy arcades).  After it dies, it staggers back
and falls in river.

Special Attack Circumstances
If you are shooting the all fish for points on the second attack
method and do not hit the boss, more fish fly at you at a faster rate.
This happens after the first set of fish.  If you get hit it reverts
back to the normal number and speed.

Location Route Destination
If you fought in Location A go to SECTION 3A.
If you fought in Location B go to SECTION 3C.

BOSS 3
Tower Type 8000
===============
Boss Notes:  Tower can be difficult to beat with only one-player
at first, but it can be done easily with two.  This boss demands quick
reaction time and some accuracy.  The second attack method requires a
quick trigger finger.

Battle Location
Location A
You see a fat innocent running directly toward you and is snatched
away.  Afterwards, the second form is in the water.
Location B
You see a fat innocent running to the right and is snatched away.
Afterwards, the second form is in the sand.

Physical and Weak Point Description
Tower is a five-headed monster that looks like a hydra.  It has
four tan colored heads and one blue one.  Each of the four heads is a
weak spot.  The center head does not attack and as a result cannot be
hit (Third Chapter Only).

First Attack Method
Before each head strikes a golden circle forms around the mouth.
You must hit this head before it bites you.  Up to two heads attack at
the same time or in quick succession.  During these attacks you need to
be fast and accurate.  You can sometimes hit a head when it is
recovering from a hit, so try and shoot the same head until it dies.
This cuts down the waiting time, so you don't have to sit there and
wait for it to attack.  Aiming for the mouth is your best bet in
hitting a head or when it is flying back from a hit, aim for the base
of the head.  Each head requires three hits to finish (2-player
requires 5).

Second Attack Method
Once all its energy is gone the heads fall and you see the blue
one escape through a door.  It moves around building a golden circle
around its mouth to attack (you can also hear it roar).  You must score
at least two hits on its head or it bites you.  Remember to reload as
quickly as you can.  Locations A and B are the same in technique.  The
blue head moves around in a different pattern for each location,
though.  Each time you play the pattern is the same, so you can
anticipate where it comes from and shoot it more accurately.  I found
the difficulty to be about the same for both locations.  Once you
defeat Tower it roars and falls life-less on the sand or water. After,
you see a scene involving Amy and Harry.

Special Attack Circumstances
If you have done well up to this point more heads attack at the
same time or in quick succession more often.  This is when it is most
likely to attack with three or even four heads (rarely) instead of one
or two.

Location Route Destination
If you fought in Location A go to SECTION 4A.
If you fought in Location B go to SECTION 4C.

BOSS 4
Strong Type 205
===============
Boss Notes:  This is the first boss that separates the truly
skilled from the ones with the endless pockets of money.  This boss
demands accuracy and nerves of steel, a quick trigger finger can be
helpful.  With two-players, this boss is manageable, with one-player it
can be difficult.  The on-screen reloading trick is very helpful.

Battle Location
Location A
The colosseum is tan in color with spots.
Location B
The colosseum is dark blue in color with bright flood lights in
the background.

Physical and Weak Point Description
Strong appears as a large crazed maniac wearing a gray hood with
a big chainsaw.  He frantically runs around up to you and brings down
his weapon for a slice.  G's file tells you that his weak spot is his
head.

First Attack Method
You begin by walking backward as he advances, during this you have
some time to shoot his head before he runs up to you for a saw.
Unfortunately, he blocks many of your shots with his chainsaw.  Try to
shoot at the base of the blade (above the red handle) sometimes you can
get lucky and hit him.  Shooting him in the body only does minimal
damage and is not worth trying.  Even if you hit him he will most
likely slip in and try to saw you.  During this time he stands still
and raises his chainsaw, ready to slice you.  At this point his head is
open to your gunfire; this is your last chance to hit him before he
hits you.  If he hits you he takes a few steps back and raises his
chainsaw (beginners see this a lot ~_~) this is another good chance to
hit him.
During your fight with Strong he sometimes disappears (by running
around a corner) and breaks down a stone wall.  If he does this you
have only a few moments before he raises his chainsaw for an attack.
He can also jump from above and bring his saw down on you.  You must
score a hit on his weak point as he falls or he hits you.  Note that in
Location B he jumps down on you much sooner than in Location A.  Also
in Location B, the halls are narrower.
A good time to hit him is when he comes around the corner because
his chainsaw is to the side.  When he is at a great distance he stands
still and throws axes at you.  This is another good chance to hit him.
Remember to shoot the ax though.
As you shoot Strong you blow off bits of his hood.  When he
reaches low health he moves around VERY quickly and it is extremely
difficult to score a hit on him at great distance.  Also he allows less
time for you to hit him when he raises his chainsaw.  When you defeat
him, he yells and falls to the ground lifeless (you can also see his
face before he falls).  Afterwards, you talk to Amy and Harry and you
get the keys to the car!

Special Attack Circumstances
    Unknown.

Location Route Destination
This boss leads you to SECTION 5A.

BOSS 5
Magician Type 0
===============
Boss Notes:  Players of HOTD1 will drop their jaws and cry to the
heavens, "WHY!?"  This boss is almost exactly the same as in the
previous game.  If you have never fought him then be prepared to die
(or continue) a lot.  Fortunately, he is slower and easier than in the
previous HOTD.  Accuracy and a quick trigger finger are helpful.  The
on-screen reloading trick is helpful with the fourth attack method.

Battle Location
You look up at Goldman's building when one of the top floors
explodes and glass rains down on you.  Backing up the Magician comes
forth and speaks to you.

Physical and Weak Point Description
The Magician is similar in design as the previous HOTD.  He
appears as tall somewhat thin undead with horns on his head and veins
sticking out.  He has three weak spots one on HIS left arm, lower right
leg and left thigh.

First Attack Method
He begins by spinning around and throwing two (4 in 2-player)
fireballs at you.  When he spins around (before he shoots the
fireballs) you have a good chance to hit it once or twice.  Don't try
to hit him too many times because you need to devote your attention to
the fireballs he throws at you.  He repeats this attack a few times and
occasionally attacks by standing still and hurling two (4 in 2-player)
fireballs from each hand.  During this time you have a few moments to
score some good hits, but again it is best to hit him a few times and
devote your attention to the fireballs.

Second Attack Method
After you do enough damage (3/4 health left) he switches attacks.
This time he zips around three times moving somewhat quickly and flies
into you holding a fireball.  When he attacks (you can't hit him when
he is zipping around) you must score a hit on his weak spot or suffer
damage.  You need to hit him only once, unlike HOTD1, even with two
players he only requires one shot to stop before he hits.

Third Attack Method
Once you do enough damage (2/3 health left) he repeats attack
methods one and two.  The attacks are more difficult, but the same
tactics apply.

Fourth Attack Method
His final attack happens when he reaches about 1/2 health.  He
flies back and shoots a massive amount of fireballs at you.  Note that
some of the fireballs he shoots won't hit you.  Concentrate on the
center ones only; the rest fly to the side.  Before he hurls the
fireballs, you have a good chance to score many hits on him.  He
repeats this attack until he dies (or you die) floating down a little
each time.  HOTD1 players will notice that this attack is different
from the original.  In part one, he landed on the ground and shot
fireballs into the air and then you had to shoot them as they fell.
When you defeat him, he extends his arm and explodes.

Special Attack Circumstances
If you have done well up to this point the magician zips around
and throws his fireballs at a faster rate.  You can check to see if you
are fighting the more difficult version by looking at his shadows when
he moves.  If they are bright white instead of dark purple and red then
you are fighting the more difficult version.  If you get hit during the
battle, then it reverts back to his normal difficulty.  If you do well
in the battle he becomes more difficult again.

Location Route Destination
The boss leads you to SECTION 6A.

BOSS 6
Emperor Type Alpha
===================
Boss Notes:  This boss is very difficult for first time players.
Unless you know what to expect, you will most likely die very quickly.
This boss can be discouraging and many players continue a lot (which is
what the game wants).  However, once you learn what to do this boss
becomes easy.  You need it all, accuracy, speed, a steady hand, fast
reloading time, quick reaction time and an iron will.  The on-screen
reloading trick is helpful with the third attack method.

Battle Location
Goldman opens up his office to the roof where the Emperor is
revealed.  He floats around and makes a short speech.

Physical and Weak Point Description
The Emperor appears as a see-through jester-like being with eight
silver spheres floating around him.  G's file displays his weak point
as "unknown".  It is in fact the glowing red orb in his chest.  When
you score a hit he turns red and you hear a beeping-like sound.

First Attack Method
He begins by throwing four small spheres at you; these fly
somewhat quickly and require one shot to stop.  He can also throw four
larger spheres which fly at you slowly but take two shots to stop.
Before and after he shoots the spheres you have a few moments to score
a hit or two on him.  Finally, he can form a lance with the spheres and
fly over to you and slash you.  You must score a hit on his weak spot
in order to stop him.  The best chance to hit him is when he is about
halfway in flying over to you.  He randomly switches between these
attacks until he reaches 3/4 health.

Second Attack Method
His next set of attacks is when he uses attack methods from the
previous bosses which he forms with his spheres.  He can form the demon
from Judgment which flies toward you (note that it is much closer to
you when it starts fly so you have less time to hit it, one hit is
needed to stop it).  Or, he forms the Hierophant and jumps in the air;
one hit in the Hierophant's weak point to stop it.  He can also form
the blue head of Tower which whips around for a bite.  It is best to
aim to the right of the head and start shooting as he moves; this way
it flies into your gunfire.  Finally it can also change into Strong, it
floats over to you with its chainsaw raised ready to bring it down on
you.  A shot to the head is required to stop it.  Each time you stop a
bosses' attack you inflict damage on the Emperor.  Before he forms an
attack method you have a chance to score a hit on him.  Again, he
randomly switches between these attacks until he reaches 1/2 health.

Third Attack Method
His final attack is when he turns into a bunch of spinning spheres
with his weak point in the center.  The floating spheres block your
shots to the weak point.  During this time it floats over to you for a
hit.  Unless you keep hitting the weak point it flies into you.  When
it reaches attack distance the spheres form spikes.  At this time you
MUST hit the weak point a few times in order not to get hit.  After, it
floats away making another attack run; hitting the weak point now
causes him to fly away, so if you have good accuracy you can keep him
pinned and away from you until he dies.  Your best tactic is to aim for
the weak point and fire like crazy.  Remember to have tight grip on
your gun so that if you shoot wildly you won't be shooting around the
weak point.  When you defeat him he says something and finally
explodes.

Special Attack Circumstances
    Unknown. (None, I hope.)

Location Route Destination
This boss leads you to an ending (of course).

11. The Undead
===============
HOTD2 doesn't give any official names for the undead in the game,
so I have assigned names to them myself.  I have also included the
number of undead that appear at one time and on which chapters.  As
stated before, all undead take one 1-2 hits in the head and generally 6
hits or more anywhere else.  Of course aim for the head as much as
possible, but I strongly recommend a head shot for undead marked with a
<HSR>.  Undead marked with a {1} appeared in HOTD1.  Shots to the legs
stuns or slows down most undead and shooting the limbs sometimes blows
them off.  When an undead dies it gives a small roaring sound (this is
hard to hear sometimes).

Undead's Name <HSR>? {1}? (Number Appearing)  [Level(s) Appearing]
Physical and Attack Description.

Ax-wielder {1} (1-2) [1-3]
These can appear in two different forms always carrying two axes
in a cross pattern to block your shots.  You can shoot above the axes
but this is difficult for beginners.  Shooting them in the stomach or
legs causes them to drop their guard.  You can also shoot them in the
elbows, since they stick out, to blow their arms off.  When encountered
at great distances they throw their axes at you.

Bladed Assassin <HSR> (1-2) [4-5]
These undead run from a side and quickly throw one set of two
knives at you.  They can be difficult if encountered in pairs while in
single player.  After they throw their knives they come into close
range for a bite.  Occasionally they run up to you and slash you with
their knives instead of throwing them.

Bladed Minion {1} (1-2) [2]
Small undead that jump up and throw knives at you.  They tend to
move around very quickly especially when going from side to side.
These undead do a backflip to avoid your gunfire.  They also hold two
large knives in front that can block your shots.  They come in only one
form but they do have a cousin (see Lightbladed Minion).

Blood Knight (1-2) [4]
An undead wearing light chain mail and carrying a large broadsword
which can block your shots.  They move somewhat slow but take many hits
to kill.  They sometimes carry their swords over their heads or in
front of their face preventing head shots.  Aim for the stomach to drop
its guard and quickly shoot the head.

Chainsaw Marauder <HSR> (1-2) [1-2]
An undead with two chainsaws which block your shots.  They move
very fast and can be difficult to kill if they appear in close range.
They have only one form, but they do have a cousin (see Lightsaw
Marauder).

Clawed Assassin <HSR> (1-3) [4]
Tall and thin undead with claws and a iron mask.  They quickly
walk up and run you through with a claw.  These undead sometimes raise
their claws near their faces to prevent head shots.  They can be tough
when appearing with other forms of undead at close range.  Note they
also have armor on their feet and lower legs.

Clawed Minion {1} (2) [1-2]
Another small undead with a iron mask and claws on each hand.
They jump on you and claw for damage or fall from a high location for a
hit.  They can climb on the walls and ceilings and can be attacked at
almost any location even when laying on the ground.  Note that they
have armor on the upper back, shoulders, and lower legs which can block
your shots.  So if they seem to take a long time to kill it is because
you're hitting in these locations (or you're just missing).

Death Frog {1} (2-4) [1]
Amphibians with a need for blood.  Slowly moving, they are easy to
kill as they only take one shot.  They leap at you for nip.

Ghast (2-4) [2]
Undead with their lower bodies torn off.  They crawl toward you
and jump when in range.  Not very difficult to kill as they move slowly
and require only a few shots.

Ghoul <HSR> {1} (1-2) [2-3]
These fat undead attack by doing a splash, jump kicking or ramming
into you.  They are most deadly when encountered in pairs while in
single player.  They are very difficult to kill once they have
initiated their attack.  Ghouls sometimes carry barrels above their
heads to throw at you.  Always shoot at these first before going after
them.

Incubator (1-2) [5]
An undead with a pink parasite that bursts from its chest and
flies toward you.  These undead cannot be hit in the chest for damage,
but they can be hit in the arms, legs, and head.  When they begin to
release their parasite they clutch their chests.  At this time they
cannot be shot; after releasing their parasite, they simply fall to the
ground and die.  They move toward you before releasing their parasite
and attack with a slash if don't you shoot them.  Shooting them in the
chest automatically causes them to release their parasites.  The
parasite requires only one shot to kill.

Killer Owl (1-4) [2-3]
Undead fowl with sunken eyes.  They fly around in a pattern and
swoop for an attack.  It is best to shoot them while they are flying
toward you for an attack because they do not move around so much.
Different locations have different patterns but they are always the
same each time you play.  Owls only require one shot to kill.

Lightbladed Minion {1} (1-3) [5-6]
These bluish-gray minions have two types of attacks.  They can
materialize in front for a quick attack, taking only a few hits to
stop.  Or, they can attack from a distance throwing blue lightblades at
you.  During this attack they blink in and out to avoid being shot.
When at close range they jump on you for a bite.  These undead do not
register any damage on their bodies, so you can't blow their limbs off.
They can also block shots with their lightblades when they stand still.

Lightsaw Marauder <HSR> (1-3) [6]
Almost the same as their cousin (see Chainsaw Marauder) these move
faster and come in bigger groups.  Fortunately they take fewer hits to
kill; they appear in only one form which is bluish-gray in color.  When
you shoot them, their bodies look like they are taking no damage and
their limbs cannot be blown off.

Lizard Spawn <HSR> (1-2) [4]
Lizard men-like creatures, they sometimes crawl on pipes or attack
by hitting you with their tails.  They can be difficult because they
take many hits and sometimes fool players by playing dead (you think
they're dead and then pop up for a hit).  They are difficult to kill
once they have jumped at you for an attack.  Also, these undead seem to
come out only in poorly lit areas of the game.

Maggot {1} (4 or more) [1-2]
These writhing worm-like creatures always come in large groups.
They squirm around and then jump at you for a bite.  They require only
one shot to kill.

Muscles (1-2) [3,5]
Like their cousins (see zombie) these undead, however, take more
damage and move slightly faster.  They appear as muscular undead which
come in two forms with or without a beret and military uniform.  They
attack by slashing or ramming with their stomachs when in range.

Neodymium Zombie (1-3) [6]
Bluish-gray undead, their attacks are almost identical to regular
zombies (they only slash and not bite), except these undead take more
hits and have the ability to phase through walls for a surprise attack.
These undead, when shot, do not look like they are taking any damage.
As a result, their limbs cannot be blown off.

Piranha (1-5) [2-3]
Amazon fish have made their way to the city as undead sea-life
(actually they live in freshwater).  They can be shot underwater
appearing as black spots or when they jump out to attack.  They can be
difficult because of their speed, caution should be taken when dealing
with large groups as people tend to miss one or two.

Putrid Slug (5 or more) [2]
Brown squishy things that come in large groups.  They always
appear hanging from somewhere and drop.  Then they inch their way
forward and jump at you for an attack.  They only require one shot to
kill and can be disposed of while still hanging.

Revenant <HSR> {1} (1-4) [1-3]
These undead come from the water and are green, black or red.
They attack by jumping out of the water and slashing or when on land by
biting.  While in the water I recommend a head shot.  The red ones wait
in the water and jump out for a surprise attack.

Vampire Bat {1} (5 or more) [3-4]
Winged mammals that fly in small circles toward you.  They only
take one shot to kill.  They can be trouble if they swarm you.

Wraith {1} (1-5) [1-4]
Thin spindly-looking undead that tend to come in large groups,
deadly if you let them get into close range.  However, they're very
easy to kill quickly.  They come in only one form.

Zombie {1} (1-3) [1-3,5]
The most common undead appear in two forms with or without a
shirt.  The shirt-less form attacks by biting, while the ones with the
shirts attack by a one- or two-handed slash.  They sometimes appear
with barrels (actually only in the first chapter).

12. Items and Scoring
======================
During the course of the game you can shoot various items for
extra points.  Because the game does not display your score, I am not
sure how much each one is worth.  All items when shot sparkle with the
player's color and fly up.  They can be hidden in barrels, cans, jars,
or crates.

Coin- Small object that spins around.
Diamond- Large rock that spins around.
Golden cat- Egyptian looking thing.
Golden frog- It jumps up and down and is hard to shoot when enemies are
around.
Necklace- Fine wear for our heroes!

These items do not sparkle when shot, I have no idea what they do.
They are hidden in crates, barrels, etc. as well.
Apples- A bunch in a basket. (Come here, dearie . . .)
Mushroom- Black with red spots. (I hope these don't REDUCE your score!)

Here is a list of the ranks and the scores needed to achieve them.

7           20,000-29,999    Novice

Personal High Score- 90221

13. Endings
===========
There are three different endings to this game; how well you do
determines which ending you get.  One point is added to your score for
each time you continue.
In each ending Goldman jumps off his building after giving his
speech.  Then you see scenes of the inside representing you walking
out.  During this, the credits are displayed to the side.  Unlike
HOTD1, you do not walk all the way back to the first chapter to your
car (thank goodness).  Instead, you only walk out of the building; once
you reach the doors leading out you see which ending you get.

Ending 1
If your score is under 80,000 and ends with a number between 1-9,
you see Amy, Harry, and G (Silver Fang!), along with a bunch of
innocents waving at you.  And you say "Thank You."

Ending 2
If your score is under 80,000 and ends with a 0, Goldman is at the
bottom appearing as a zombie (you hear the music from HOTD1 when Sophie
comes out as a zombie).  Amy, Harry, and the others do not appear.

Special Ending
If your score is above 80,000 and ends with anything,  Thomas
Rogan (Eager Eagle!) appears as you walk out and tells you that G and
Harry are all right and something about your next battle.

Once you see your ending a book opens up and your rank and score
are given.  At the bottom is the name of the ending you received and
your character's picture.  If you're lucky enough to input your
initials you will see a another screen with the alphabet.  In HOTD2 you
have a cursor which shows which letter you are pointing at (unlike
HOTD1).  You have enough space to input three initials (like most
games).  After, the game shows the top scores.

14. Codes and Tricks
====================
After you insert your money input this code before the title
screen changes.

Score display code: LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT
and then the start button.

Silly Game Lines plus (My Comments)
-----------------------------------

"AAAAHHHH! I don't wanna die!"- First Chapter innocent (Too Bad!)

"My friends, they went inside.  They're not back yet.  I told them not
to go!"- Third Chapter innocent (You have really stupid friends!)

"Thank you for rescuing me."- innocents throughout the game (You're
welcome, NOW WHERE'S MY LIFE-UP, YOU JERK?!)

"I am . . . I am . . ."- Emperor (Oh, shut up!)

"In time a successor will come . . ."- Goldman (You're a bad actor, but
does this mean HOTD3?!)

"What happened to Sophie?"- Me (Well, what did happen to her?  You
never knew who she really was in HOTD1.)

16. Special Thanks
==================
Thanks to the following people for helping me make this FAQ and walk-
through!

Gustavo Arturo Beltran- for listening to me talk about HOTD1 and HOTD2
even though he never plays it.  "Let's play Space Ace instead!"

Andrew Scott Fraser Irving ([email protected])- for having a slow
trigger finger allowing me to shoot HIS zombies for extra points.
"Thanks Andrew!"

Felipe Soto- for providing his "special skills" and fooling people into
thinking we were with the police.  "Ah-dee!"

Thanks to all the people who have e-mailed me their comments,
suggestions, and corrections!  They have been a great help!
