This is the official PS3 walkthrough for Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 5: Rise
of the Pirate God. My first walkthrough was for the PS3 version of Tales of
Monkey Island Chapter 4: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood. I'm
planning walkthroughs for the PS3 versions of the first three chapters but I'm
currently in school, so those will have to wait for now. At any rate, let's
move on. Shall we?

Escaping Your Grave....................................................ROTPG5.2

This story begins with Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate, buried under a mound
of dirt. If you're wondering what's going on, you should play the fourth
chapter to get a better sense of what happened. Anyway, cycle through your
selections until you highlight the dirt and click on it twice.

Trophy Collecting, Part 1..............................................ROTPG5.3

It's already time to go for more trophies. If you're not interested, you may
skip ahead. First, since we're standing in front of a Grog vending machine
(since when did they serve alcoholic beverages in vending machines?!), we'll
get the "Grog, Grog, Grog!" trophy first, even though it says we need a dollar
bill but we don't have one. Click on the vending machine and then Grog. Then
Diet Grog. Now click Cherry Grog and finish the trophy off by clicking Grog XD.
Nice easy trophy.

Now we'll get "Grave Ribber". Simply walk toward the screen and follow the
path. Now read each tombstone. You'll know if it's read, because the name
changes when you read them. After reading all eight gravestones (remember,
yours doesn't count!), you should have your trophy.

The Boat Ride..........................................................ROTPG5.4
===============================================================================
First, examine your inventory. You don't have anything from the last chapter.
Instead, you have dirt in your pocket and a Shred of Life. Now, walk to the
right toward the boat. Talk to the Ferryman. Ask him where he's going, then ask
him if you can go to the Crossroads. Now ask him how much it costs. He says he
wants the "golden eyes of everlasting sleep." Sound familiar? It should. It's
based on ancient myths, but I won't get into that right now. It basically means
he's asking for two coins you don't have. Tell him you'll be back when you have
your coins.
Now distract him by throwing your dirt on the boat so you can swipe a dollar
from the Tip Jar. If you try to hand the dollar to the Ferryman, he'll just say
he doesn't do "exact change". Go ever to the Grog machine and insert the Pirate
Dollar into it. You can purchase a Grog now if you'd like. You'll have to
eventually, but if you do, you'll have to steal another dollar to finish the
puzzle. For the purpose of this walkthrough, I will purchase a Grog because the
Cherry Grog was sold out. Dang it... Yeah, but I had my heart set on Cherry
Grog! Now to go back and steal another dollar and this time go for the change.
Now you can give the coins to the Ferryman and off you go.

Enter the Crossroads...................................................ROTPG5.5
===============================================================================
Now you're on the Crossroads. Examine the Center of the Crossroads for more
information. Click on the Dead Tree for a laugh. Now speak to Galeb to get more
information, albeit not very consistent. When you're ready, ask him about
returning to the living. Now it's time to find a spell hidden away somewhere in
this region.

Give a Dog a Bone......................................................ROTPG5.6
===============================================================================
Now you have free reign to use the Ferry and explore all of Crossroads. You
need a guide. The Dog at the Gateway would serve nicely, but he doesn't like
you. Go to Treasure Hunt. Examine the Skull and Bones to receive a Bone. While
you?re here, ask the Treasure Hunter to show you how to dig and swipe the
Jeweled Anchor. Now go back to the Gateway and give the bone to the dog to add
him into your inventory. Head over to the Thieves' Den. Examine the Sock on
right and the Thief will give it to you.

A-Treasure Hunting We Will Go!.........................................ROTPG5.7
===============================================================================
First combing the Sock with the Dog to give him LeChuck's sent. Now go to the
Treasure Hunt and use the Dog on the Ground Full of Xs. The Dog runs off.
You'll find him back at the Crossroads Center, and the Dog won't leave Galeb
alone. Perhaps if we get Galeb to move out of the way? Use the Sock on him, and
he'll back up. The Dog digs up the Treasure but it's locked. Head back over to
the Thieves' Den and ask the Thief to unlock it for you. He takes your spell.
Talk to him and use the first option, then use the Dog on the Totally Unguarded
Scrolls. Now steal something else so the Thief turns around and throws you out.
Notice your Dog sneaking off while the Thief's distracted? Return to Treasure
Hunt and use the Dog on the Ground Full of Xs.

The Swordfight.........................................................ROTPG5.8
===============================================================================
Walk up the stairs and climb the Mast to find Morgan's spirit sitting and
moping around. She tells you she's depressed but a good old-fashioned
swordfight just might cheer her up. However, you do have a sword. There's one
sticking out of a poor decapitated pirates head. Grab it and then use it on
Morgan. During the swordfight, the pirate and Morgan fling questions at you.
It's two questions per answer but the trick is to answer Morgan's questions.
Here's a list (Credit goes to IGN for the list):
Q1: I can barely even lift my sword
Q2: There certainly is a foul smell coming from this fight.
A: See, in some ways you are stronger than me.
Q1: I used to dream of being the greatest pirate hunter in the world
Q2: You make me want to puke.
A: I bet people say that about you all the time.
Q1: What's my IQ
Q2: On a scale of 1 to 10 how bad am I?
A: Negative one, if that.
Q1: I once owned a dog that was smarter than you
Q2: I can't believe I once studied under the greatest swordsman in the
Caribbean.
A: He must have taught you everything you know.
Q1: My career as a pirate hunter was as successful as my career as a
marathon runner
Q2: Nobody's ever drawn blood from me and nobody ever will.
A: You run THAT fast?
Q1: Men quiver at my masculine swagger
Q2: It's like I'm a little boy.
A: Believe me, you're all woman.
Answer correctly three times in a row to get Morgan's mood up. You can now talk
to her. Before we continue, however, it is trophy time. If you're not
interested, feel free to skip ahead.

Trophy Collecting, Part 2..............................................ROTPG5.9
===============================================================================
First we'll get "Say What?" Ask her "Are you sure it wasn't De Singe who killed
you?" Yes. Getting the trophy was THAT easy.
Now we'll get "Morgan's Secret". Ask about the "shard of life". Then ask her
what was important to her in life. I guess what you think is important is that
you got another trophy.
Say "I've found a spell!" If you've been paying attention, you should have at
least two of the ingredients: the Guide and the Anchor. The Guide is your Dog,
and if you haven't yet got the Jeweled Anchor, return to the Treasure Hunt and
tell the pirate there to show you how to dig. Now you can pick up the Jeweled
Anchor. Also, the third ingredient, Courage, is Grog. If you haven't already,
return to the Gateway. With the Ferryman gone, you can take his tip jar. Insert
a pirate dollar into the Grog Machine and choose Grog. The other three are sold
out. Return to the Crossroads Center and place the Dog Jeweled Anchor and Grog
on it. Now return to Morgan at Swordfight and ask her about the sacrifice. You
need to have told her about the spell first. She'll tell you about her plan.
After a scene, you get a trophy.

Confrontation with LeChuck - Again!...................................ROTPG5.11
===============================================================================
Choose any option three times. Now you can move about the ship. Try to grab the
Enchanted Cutlass. That didn't go very well, did it? You're back at the
Crossroads, but on the bright side, you now have access to other areas, so it
looks like a good time to get another more trophy. Once again, if you're not
interested you can skip ahead.

Return to the Mating Grounds..........................................ROTPG5.12
===============================================================================
Go to Gateway and Galeb will be there. Then run past him and go through the rip
to the Ocean where Winslow is. Now enter the Ocean. You see the Locket high on
some seaweed but you can't touch it. You need to find a way to get it to
Winslow. Head right to the cave to talk to Anemone. Ask her to come out and
she'll mention Winslow. Go back to talk to Winslow about Anemone. He drops a
poem down to her. Return to her and she her the poem. The seaweed is swaying
back and forth now. Examine the clam. You now have access to the Locket. Tell
Winslow to push the button on the Locket. The fact that you're dead makes it a
little hard to possess the Voodoo Lady. Return to Galeb at the Gateway and use
your pirate money on him to get a picture of your ghostly form. Now use your
picture on the Locket and tell Winslow to push the button again. Now you're
Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate-Zombie! Say "I surrender!" to be escorted to
jail. Examine the loose brick and leave your body.

Getting your body back................................................ROTPG5.13
===============================================================================
Go to the Swordfighting area and the Voodoo Lady is there in the form of crabs.
Choose any option three times. You need Voodoo Lady's gum. Then go up the
stairs and through the rip. Talk to Bug Eye. Ask him how he escaped the
manatee. Choose the gasses one for a good laugh. Ask him if he slipped on the
tongue, then rode a mer-person to Flotsam and he'll make a face. Copy it. It's
the Stinky Tweaking Meanie. Bug Eye hits W.P.
Return to Winslow to get put back in your zombie body and subsequently toss
back in jail ? only it's the cell you want. Tasting the gum doesn't do much.
However, you can pick up the mug if you want a laugh. It's a good idea too
because it stays with your corpse even after you leave it. Return to W.P. and
scare him. He throws a dart at the dart board, misses, and punctures a hole a
barrel of root beer and it pours into your mug in your new mug. Return as your
zombie self and get thrown into jail again. Before we continue, we should get
another couple trophies. Again, if you aren't interested (the first one's
slightly harder to get than most trophies in this series), just skip ahead.

Trophy Collecting, Part 3.............................................ROTPG5.14
===============================================================================
First, it's time to get the "Violet Beauregard Memorial Trophy" trophy. First
taste the Gum Stalactite hanging from the ceiling. Then eat the Wad of Chewed
Gum at least nine times. I say at least because the nine flavors are completely
random.
Next, we'll get the "Dance, Monkey, Dance!" trophy. Return to Swordfighting
and go through the rip there to Club 41. On the bottom-left side of the room
there's a Barrel of Yellowish Liquid. The first time you click it, it becomes
the Barrel of Banang. The Eighth? Try it and enjoy the laughs. You also get a
trophy.

He's ALIVE!...........................................................ROTPG5.15
===============================================================================
Use the mug on the gum you've been eating and it turns into Spirit Gum. You are
now permanently in your body. You also get a trophy.

Leaving the Cell......................................................ROTPG5.16
===============================================================================
Examine the pin up poster to reveal a hole in the wall. Go through the Escape
tunnel. Now you get to confront LeChuck again. And again, you end up back at
the Crossroads. Dang it, LeChuck!
===============================================================================
Diet of the Senses....................................................ROTPG5.17
===============================================================================
Return to Galeb about reversing the spell and he hands you the Diet of the
Senses. This is another scavenger hunt similar to last chapter's Feast of the
Senses. Only in reverse! Now that you're in an actual body, you can't pick
physical things up. Go to Club 41. There's a blindfold on the left side. Take
it. Try to leave and LeChuck shows upo and punches you through the rip. Okay,
now this is just getting annoying!
Go to Winslow's raft and pick up the Old Brute Deodorant to block out the
smell.
From there, go down to the ocean floor, only Winslow is no longer there.
Grab the fishnet. Now go to Treasure Hunt. Dig on the Ground Full of Xs and use
the Fishnet on the Tiny Pyrite Parrots. Combine them with your Tip Jar. Now you
have Sound.
Go through the rip from there to the Jungle. Voodoo Lady will talk to you. Ask
her all the questions you have available for more information until she leaves.
Pick up the Feather by the Dead Seagull to get the touch. Then use your hook on
the Treasure Chest to get Lechuck's Belt Buckle.
Now head over to the Thief's Den. The Thief has a secret for you but doesn't
trust you with it. The Voodoo Lady said the Belt Buckle you got engenders
trust. Show it to him. Click on the Secret Box.
Finally, return to Club 41 and surrender to W.P again. Now collect the Gum
Stalactite and you have all the ingredients for a bland taste. Leave the jail
to enter the bathroom.

Shrinking La Esponja Grande...........................................ROTPG5.18
===============================================================================
Use the six items on La Esponja Grande in any order and it shrinks. That diet
got you another trophy!

The Last Confrontation with LeChuck...................................ROTPG5.19

There are a few locations you can go right now: High above in the Crows Nest,
the Deck and the Bow. From the Bow, have Elaine attack LeChuck. Then, while
she's distracting him and you're being dragged under the boat, grab the keys.
Now wait until you're back at the Bow again, and use the Keys on the Lock Gate
and the Barrels of Grog tumble out. Now you can't return to the Bow. Pick up
the Broken Door and use it on the Loose Barrel. Use the Hook on the Mainsail to
tear a hole in it. Now use your hook on the rope from the Crows Nest to slide
down. Nothing you can do here except let LeChuck come to you, which you want
him to do anyway. Tell Elaine to Light the Cannon. Then get into position on
the Broken Door. He jumps on the other side, catapulting you into the Cannon.
The Cannon fires, sending you shooting back into the Crossroads. Finally, use
your Shred of Life on the Rip. You just KNEW that was what you needed to do
along. Right? Well, at least you got a trophy.

Reunited..............................................................ROTPG5.20
===============================================================================
Perhaps there's a way to get back to Elaine afterall. One last sacrifice. Did
you bother to notice Elaine's Ring had been in your inventory after getting
your body back THE ENTIRE TIME?! Use it on the Crossroads Center to be reunited
with Elaine. Then choose any option. Now for one last trophy. If you're not
interested in waiting for five minutes, feel free to turn the game off.
Besides, the game is over anyway.

If you wait for an agonizing five minutes, you'll get one final scene. You'll
also get a trophy.
